Choi Palace BBQ Restaurant reviews
44Been here ~10 times, crispy pork on rice is superb, a generous serve of succulent meaty chunks of roast pork belly with light crispy crunchy skin. Seved in a bustling happy place within 5 minutes of bum on seat.
A bit old
But the bathroom is hygienic OK!
The waiters are relatively friendly.
Often go on weekends.
It's a good place to take your kids for a quick meal if you don't want to cook!
Recently, mud crabs are on promotion, 28.80 a pound, stir-fried crabs with ginger and scallions.
Plus 7.00. A bit expensive!
Fried spinach 21.80!
not bad
We often eat roast duck rice!
After coming to Australia for more than two months, I finally had a delicious siu mei
This meal from Sydney to Melbourne is worth it
Patronize to eat
I ate half of it before remembering to take pictures hahahahaha
The sour plum juice with roast duck is very refreshing
I went to eat after lunch at three o'clock in the afternoon
Not many people in the store
But at this time, the skin of the roasted pork is still crispy
fat and thin
too delicious
I'm drooling again typing these words
The environment and services are very good. I like it here.
The takeaway roast duck was nice and realistically priced - I will be going back to buy more. The duck giblets were mixed with very similar appearing vegetables (shown separately in the photos).
Food is actually delicious just lack of customer service especially from the lady that seems to be the owner.she just seems like she doesn't want to be there at all to Serve her customers.if you don't like what you are doing please seek a change in your life. I dined later in the evening had an hour till close but decided to mop and actually hit my legs while sitting at rhe table.haven't finished my meal rushes to present me with the bill while food is in my mouth like seriously?
Long time no try the hong kong style BBQ pork, duck and taste food. I tired many restaurants but I can't find one of the shop as traditional tastes food. Today I found it here. So yummy.
I recommend all of you come to try try. Really good.i give you 5️
Special winter Lamb and tofu soup and crispy pork intestines all very enjoyable, yummy, happy with service
Best roast duck and crispy pork in the hood!
Service is quick, the restaurant is tightly packed and often noisy but everyone is well fed and happy.
Salty fish fried rice was really nice but the BBQ meat and rice dishes comes with meat that is NOT Hot at all. Might be something that shop can work on
Also better if they can add high chairs for kids.
Worst experience in Clayton restaurant. Staffs are pretty rude. I have to say their beef makes me feel sick. Never gonna come here one more time.
A place to go if you are after authentic flavored Chinese food, but not for ambience.loved their Beef Ho Fun and XO sauced clams. Yummmm
Best BBQ in my area, always stop by this place to get my favourite roast duck, soya chicken, roast pork, BBQ pork…just reviewing the photos already make me hungry
Lady behind the counter was quite rude. Also waited 35 minutes for takeaway when they weren’t busy.
I was there this afternoon and ordered a roast duck, one soy sauce chicken and a serve of belly pork braised in preserved veg (mui choi)
The soy chicken is hard and tasteless not juicy. Roast duck was edible and the worse was the belly pork. $27 a serve and the container was packed with mui choi and 4 small pieces of pork. I feel it's over rated and pricey. This is not a nice experience for me.
This used to be our go-to Chinese roast takeaway place but we would not be returning or recommending. Called in advance for some fried rice and roast yet still ended up waiting half an hour in the restaurant. Roast duck was given in random cuts, roast pork was cold and tough and had a strong smell that I could barely eat it. Fried rice which we waited half an hour for was just warm. Complained to the restaurant abt the food and was told that ‘something was wrong with their rice’ ️. Poor service and honestly I’ve never felt so disappointed after ‘eating’ a meal worth over $50.
Great food here. We ordered the egg noodles with 2 roasts (bbq pork and roast pork). The noodles were quite generous and the soup was just the right flavour. Love their roast pork as the skin is so crispy and the meat is tender. The bbq pork was okay, had a herbal aftertaste. If you're looking for congee, their shredded pork and century egg is amazing. Well made.
Our family favourite is the prawn stuffed tofu and barbecue pork on rice. They used to make perfect crispy roast pork too, however nowadays the crispy roast pork is not fresh (reheated) and the meat is too dry and salty. Sevice wise, is alright, depend on who you get, if the owner is there, excellent service, when owner is not around, staff can be ignorant. Definitely need some consistency in service and food quality
A place for no frills eating. In saying that, it has one of the best roast duck in Melbourne! Duck was marinated well. Meat was juicy and not overly roasted. Great friendly staff as well. The sweet and sour chicken was decent too. Defnitely a place to go of you are after roast.
Sometimes they are too clever.if you buy some of cold dishes from their fridge, you should check, What's kind of dishes in the box.such as same product with your order?
The first time I've been there. I will go back and try some other food. It was good. Better than some other flash dining price was ok
