Chinatown Melbourne reviews
51I think it’s very good and there are many delicious things. I recommend eating rice yogurt.
Great range some great some not so good we loved the crane, Chinese restaurant recommend to book it is packet out most days price was very good food amazing, the Shanghai Street how to use line-up most days
Not too many restaurants where you can eat.
We were disappointed from this part of the city,
"Chinatown Melbourne is a vibrant and colourful part of the city. The streets are filled with an amazing range of eateries, shops, and markets. I love the atmosphere and the variety of food and goods available. The street art is also amazing and the vibe is great. Highly recommend visiting Chinatown Melbourne to experience the culture and energy of the area. "
Not a usal china town. We went here to find and eat street food like most china towns. A few resturants and that was it. So we left.
The treatment of live animals is truly horrifying and appalling. Where are the woke eco warriors when you actually need them?
Such a variety of great, cheap food. The cacophany of colours & the colour of the space is magnificent.
Melbourne like any other places had been affected by the pandemics. Almost 3 years of absence, the food prices increased for a decent over plate meal from approx AUD13 to AUD19. Quite a hugh hike for the same thing compared to before pandemics.
A super cool and busy district in Melbourne, lots of people, shops to look at and restaurants to eat in. Definitely worth a visit:)
Would definitely recommend visiting there. So many nice Asian nice restaurants there. I had an amazing meal in the Shanghai Street restaurant which is located in Chinatown.
Worth it going there.
Chinatown, Melbourne, City of Melbourne, Victoria.
Established in 1850s during the Victorian gold rush, it is significant for being the longest continuous Chinese settlement in the Western World and the oldest Chinatown in the South Hemisphere. Feels like home again, Shanghai, Foshan and Guangzhou. I love Yum cha, Cantonese cuisine, Shanghai cuisine and Northern China cuisine, there are delicious cuisine. Great place to take the grandparents, parents and relatives to morning tea and three-course meal.

Melbourne China Town is a normal visitor spot. More and more restaurants were relocated to the main streets and shopping mall nearby.
Brilliant place to go for lunch and dinner there is enough things to do to make it a worth while trip. The best time to go is during Chinese New Years with colourful and cultural events.
Been hit by multiple lockdowns, but you can still find some great restaurants and if we all get down here and support Chinatown, they will be back on their feet and bustling, with even more great food soon!
Great place to get a quite bite with quality chinese food. I would recommend the Korean barbecue though is quite expensive for why you get. A very good snack to get here is the Royal custard puffs they taste awesome.it is a also a really good place for a quality hair cut at Young Hair
Lots of great restaurants to try at China Town and many small quaint shops to see as well. It's not a big area and will have walked it in 5 minutes so keep that in mind. You can't spend a full day here, way too long
Plenty of large trees and Chinese decorations really make the streets stand-out a little from the rest of the city, with the classic selection of obscure stores and varied dining establishments to make a visit well worthwhile.
Many 5 and 4-star Chinese restaurants, pubs, bars and dining places. Some excellent Japanese, Korean and Thai restaurants as well.
What it has is food, what it lacks is cultural activities for visitors.
Can't beat Chinatown for the best choice and quality of Chinese food. I recommend Shanghai Street (Chinatown)
Best dumplings ever A+.
We went on to the single street but there was not much there to do. My guess is I dis not have enough time to explore but the general feel of the place was not bad.
