Chinatown Cinema reviews
14Buy tickets online and no stuff here. Very bad experience. If I could do zero star definitely I will! Fxxk off
Very kind and efficient staff. I can’t deny it’s a bit old and the seats are not good enough, but I can sit wherever I want, that’s cool!
Just one time I saw four international students bullying the girl working that day, she was so busy but they kept stopping her from working. I don’t know why but it’s Australia here not China okay? Stop thinking service staff should regard you as the god! Shame on you four young students.
I’m giving one star because this is the lowest I could give. Worst management in concert for Mayday, all Asian artists should avoid this partnership. They deserve better support overseas to make their name bigger over the world…
It's nice that they offer subtitles (in simplified, not traditional text). But my God these seats are absolutely awful
Since its opening in 1971, it is the only Chinese cinema in the world in Western countries, with a total of more than 100,000 screenings. Located in the heart of Melbourne's Chinatown, showing the latest and highest-grossing Chinese and Asian films.
Very bad customer service, this dude working tonight literally don’t care about anything. 这男的真的非常绝!问他什么他也不回,真的无语了,他真的不喜欢这个工作吧 别来了大家浪费钱,又心塞
Took my mum here, who's Asian (obviously right) she loved it. Will drop her off here in future again if I ever want to go to an internet cafe.
A good cinema, so glad it reopened. I'd suggest rather than showing Marvel movies, why not have a Jet Li, Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee or Donnie Yen festival once a year & I reckon you'd pack the place out.
First went to this place in 1998 when it occupied the whole first floor. They used to screen a back catalogue of classic Hong Kong movies with the newer releases. Also heroic cinema had a monthly double bill screening. Was closed for a while and then reopened as a single screen. Front part of the cinema cut off.
Good current Chinese movies. A bit more choice/ different movies showing on the same day would be good and need to improve the chouce of snacks
I love coming here. I wish they had more movies playing though. Not enough choice and show times.
LOVE IT WHEN THE SHOW CANTONESE MOVIES.
BUT NOW THEY RARELY DO SHOW CANTONESE MOVIES BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY MANDO PPL IN MELB
The front row seats are too close to the screen. We got seats at the far end of the screen so were comfortable. Good location in the heart of the city.
Large cinema and usually not crowded. So although you don't get to choose your own seat, you usually can get a nice one.
Not enough bins, prices is okay ish (17 for adults)
