Not sure that I agree with some of the other reviews. The portions were if anything too big for me, & the prices are decent, the starters were delicious, the mains were a little variable. The staff were very friendly, but they did mess up a few orders. (I went with a large party) The coffee was Meh!

One of the most satisfying places I have ever eaten. Have gone several times and they never disappoint, always friendly accommodating staff and great food. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of eating out in Carlton.

Chin Chin's at Koto Moon has been around for years and I'm assuming through a few changes of hands. I've been here a few times and the food is always delicious.
The decor is simple but pretty and there's a lot of street parking outside so usually pretty easy to get a parking space. Overall, I would come here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a great Chinese/Thai/Japanese meal out.

A disappointing meal. We started alright with the entrées. They were uneventful but edible. Then it took a sharp turn to disappointing with a dish of overcooked calamari with under-cooked batter and salty Hokkien noodles. Both my partner and I felt terrible afterwards, we suspect it might've been from too much MSG.

Once was my favourite place it has slipped in the past year or so you are only as good as your worst dish

Haven't been here for years and hasn't changed. Food was just as fantastic now as it was backk then. Nice and personal restaurant and great dining atmosphere. Will be back!

The food was almost inedible, if I could guve 0 star I would. The special of salmon spring rolls was nice. The thai fish cakes were like rubber sweetcorn patties. The pad thai was gloopy and tasteless and the beef basil chilli, was it beef? When we mentioned how bad it was they did not care.

Came to the restaurant with 2 of my friends. The atmosphere was chill and cozy. The food was delicious and the staffs were very friendly. Will definitely come back.

I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food, the fact that you can chill in a restaurant and talk without shouting so that your friends can hear you is amazing, these kind of places are kind of scarce these days. The staff were attentive, though I felt they are a bit rushing to clean and push you to the next course. Overall, it was great.

We had a truly enjoyable evening with great food & excellent service from Chin Chin Koto Moon. We didn't feel rushed and our order timed perfectly.

This place is an awesome venue with authentic decor and food.

Super tasty entree’s and mains, catering for vegetarians too.

Service is friendly and welcoming.

Location is fantastic for getting a car park unlike some other parts of Carlton.

Will definitely be coming back for more.

Thanks for the super tasty meal!

I've eaten here many times and love it. Has consistently good quality and really interesting food and quick, efficient and friendly service. Two extra people turn up in your party - its not a bother! I always bring my annual visitors from provincial China here too - a great introduction for them to eating in the west for the first time, but enough familiar food for them to feel at home. Intimate and always bustling, I would recommend booking.

Recommend. Delicious flavours, great service, BYO always handy. A little on the pricy side, but what do you expect for Rathdown street? Aesthetics could be improved by straightening up the paintings.

My friends and I thought we'd try something new, and we were pretty impressed with Chin Chin's.
The food was great tasing with an array of different cultral cuisines. - well priced
Was pretty warm in there though, maybe it was the spicy food.

Very friendly attentive staff but there was nothing Thai about the Thai curries we ordered. Always a gamble when a place does a bit of Chinese, Malaysian and Thai. Also it was horrendously over-priced. Better off going up to Brunswick for authenticity and for half the price.

Ok so this place is not related to the chin chins in the cbd, i booked friend's into eating here based on that assumption.it is however pretty good! The staff were very friendly and the place was busy, which i always a good sign on a monday night.for price the food was decent.they serve a range of asian cusine so if you take a group everyone is bound to be able to find something they like.

Attentive staff, popular menu with great dishes. If you're sitting at a table waiting for your takeaway the staff are super keen to ensure you're not being neglected! Solid service.
