We really love this local restaurant, and have been going for years. The food is always tasty and authentic, and it's very good value. The lovely Vietnamese decor makes you feel like you've entered a really special place. But the best thing is the staff - cheerful, patient, attentive. Everyone I know in the area loves this restaurant.

I have been looking for a Vietnamese restaurant that I can recommend to my friends as the best in Melbourne. I found it today after 5 years in Melbourne. ChiliPepper is a real gem with authentic taste and nice atmosphere. I love that they don't customise the taste but the customers still like it.

We ordered the prawn dumplings, chicken sticks (satay), prawn XO and Chilli lemongrass chicken with coconut rice! It was all absolutely delicious! Great service, good serving size and its BYO. Would recommend.

I have been going to this place for over 20yrs and its still the best Vietnamese I have ever had.
I travel over an hour to come for my fix just the best.

There is good reason why Chili Pepper has been around for 20 years - it's THAT good! From the hospitality to the meals, Chili Pepper gets 5 stars from me. I could not fault any part of our dining experience today. We'll most certainly be back. Highly recommended.

Have been looking forward to dining at Chili Pepper again for a while (since moving to the country) and it did not disappoint. Meals were outstanding, full of flavour with excellent presentation. As normal wait staff were friendly and super efficient. This has always been my favourite restaurant in Moonee Ponds. Can't wait to go back!

I was so happy after trying out this place. The food was delicious. I loved the smell of charcoals, the perfect combination of fish sauce, ginger etc. I definitely recommend! Don’t forget banana fritters!

We are regulars at Chillipeppers only because we have never had a bad meal and the staff are just like family

What a gem in Moonee Ponds

I went in with my partner earlier today, the waitress sat us down. A group of 3 came in AFTER us, they were seated down as well. We were seated closer to the waitress. She proceeded to walk past us and to the group of 3 whom came in after us and took their order before us. We got up and left. Terrible service. The waitress looks and talks like she hates her life, there’s a chance that she was in such a daze about how much she hates her life that she could’ve forgotten that we arrived there first, regardless, unacceptable and I will never go there again and don’t recommended anyone else to either.

Dined here due to our booking at another restaurant being cancelled on arrival, this place being the only venue with availability nearby. Very disappointing dinner. Entrees of scallops and vegetable soup OK, certainly not outstanding. Main courses, one crispy barramundi, the other crispy rockling, both turned out so be small bits of unidentifiable fish in batter, that was not crispy, with accompanying sauce and a few vegetable shreds. The rockling was described as with chilli lime basil, there was no chilli. "Coconut" rice had no discernible coconut flavour. A fork, spoon and paper napkin for each of us was dumped on the table, no chopsticks, no serving spoon for the shared rice. The wine list was OK.

We love this place. Have always been served delicious food and we have eaten here a lot. We have been trying to support this place during COVID lockdowns as it is one of many restaurants in moonee ponds. They need the community support so if you’re thinking about stopping by, do it, you will be so glad you did.

Loved it! Always drove by and wanted to try it. My partner and I finally ate here for the first time and the food was incredible. The host was super friendly and helpful. Ended up getting the banquet and all the food tasted super fresh and really flavourful. Will be back for sure

Very good food and hospitality. They (especially a lady), try to know the consumer and makes best recommendations. They have good vegetarian options too. Quite a professional place reflected in the cooking. Must visit restaurant near moone ponds.

I've lived in the area forever but somehow missed this gem. So glad to have finally found it and will definitely become a regular. Lovely fresh flavours (a group of 4 dining, ordered 3 entrees, 4 mains and 4 desserts.all yum!) Service with a smile as well!

When your partner who NEVER tips, in years of being together, suddenly says "we're tipping", you know you're onto a BIG winner of a venue.

Best food- generous in both portions and flavours, service, atmosphere and price combo that i can remember. I've eaten at a lot of places and this is definitely underated as a venue. Would recommend to anyone and everyone. 5 stars without question. If they served cocktails too i would never have a reason to leave.

Love this little Viet restaurant. The food is always good, the prices are very reasonable and you can BYO wine. It's a great little local.
