Chilangos Mexican Cantina reviews
60Nice place nice interior but the taco shells and soft tacos where cold and not warmed up and needs more flavour
Literally the worst 'Mexican' food I've ever had. I had a chipotle chicken enchilada, which tasted nothing like an enchilada, and was microwaved mush when it was given to me. Hardly any chicken, spices that have never even seen Mexico, and a tonne of cabbage as filler. Yuk. Never again.
Generous portions, tasty food, the nachos are the best! I will be back to try the enchilada.
Saddest burrito bowl I’ve ever seen and looked nothing like their photo. Also took 1 hour on Uber eats to get to me (advertised as 10-25 minutes)
Delicious Mexican food! The environment is great, you can literally feel Mexican culture. The staff is also very friendly and chill, quick service.
Love the tacos, burritos and nachos
Nice change. Not too expensive but too much pressure when choosing this that and the other if you haven't been there before. Will return.
Price has increased and serving size decreased. The attitude of the staff was horrendous. I was a regular but won’t be back.
Dismal food, dismal service. The South Asian lady (owner?) clearly didn’t care about either the food or the experience… Run for the hills!
I have been eating here about once a week for the last few months and the last couple of times I’ve noticed a significant decrease in the portions in my burrito, less chicken/black beans and guacamole. Also the continued use of the cabbage/lettuce combo (looks mostly cabbage) is very disappointing for me, (think we’re passed the great lettuce shortage of winter 2022). Other than that the flavours are good (hot sauce is actually hot), service is quick and burrito well made.
Tacos tasted like they were seasoned with tap water, the soft corn tortillas tasted like sunscreen and there was only enough fillings in the tacos to feed an ant.
I wouldn't eat here if i was offered a free meal.
Super friendly staff, delicious food! One of the best Mexican restaurants you can go in Melbourne
Delicious!
What to eat for lunch…we decided to try something new. Mexican? Perfect.
Quite happy with our choice. Between us we had tacos, burrito, burrito bowl. All quite tasty.
You can find Chilangos down the lane way off Bourke. Decent amount of seating inside and out.
Note: the hot salsa has some zing to it. Quite tasty though.
Booked for dine in at 8: 30 via EatClub. When our group reached the restaurant they turned us away saying they were closed but there opening hours say they close at 10 pm
Delicious burritos at a reasonable price.
Got the beef burrito and it was tasty. Beef burrito is customisable however you want it. Also managed to get a side of corn chips all for under $20.
It was hard to dip the corn chips into the salsa so I had to mix the guacamole into the salsa. I think it’s worth avoiding this side dish. The chips were good.
Delicious Burrito, quick and friendly service. Will repeat the experience next time I'm in the vicinity.
My favourite burritos/burrito bowl takeaway place in Melbourne. Cheaper than a lot of places and you get more than what you paid for!
Super friendly staff, delicious food! One of the best mexican restaurants you can have in Melbourne
Chilangos Mexican Cantina is a takeaway shop during lunch, but converts into a Mexican tapas bar in the evening, with amazing margaritas and delicious food. Think burritos, burrito bowls, nachos, tacos, enchiladas and Mexican salads.
Mexican music, neon lights, craft beers and margaritas make Chilangos the go-to destination for all things Mexican. Sit on the columpios (swinging seats) that overlook Collins Street or sit at the bar and enjoy tequilas, mezcals or craft beers.
There is also a great selection of wines and non-alcoholic Mexican sodas.
Came here for my first meal in Melbourne. I got a chicken burrrito bowl which felt as if it was a tuna vomit sack that had been sitting in the microwave for too long. Don’t avoid this by getting vegetarian- my friend did and the soggy green beans did not do it justice. Don’t come
Who on earth puts cabbage in a burrito? This joint, apparently. How vile.
The burrito was so sloppy, it squirted all over me and literally ruined my pants. It also lacked any of the heretofore requested sour cream. It didn't even taste very good (filthy cabbage aside), certainly no better than anything you'd get from a "Mexican" chain restaurant.
The corn chips were cold, there wasn't any evidence of even attempted warming. I suspect they were scooped out of a bag and dumped into a cardboard box to be served to poor, unsuspecting customers in search of actual food, only to be faced with this attempted landfill.
I will most definitely not be coming back here, and I strongly recommend you don't bother either, unless you somehow un-ironically enjoy awful cousins of Guzman y Gomez.
