Tea-riffic Cafe!

Amazed at this petite cafe! Foods dance on your palate, coffee brews with perfection, and the ambiance? Modern Japanese bliss.

Their signature Ochazuke effortlessly blending authentic taste with their own flares. The umami-rich broth explodes with flavor, the rice plump and perfectly steamed, and my Wagyu steak? Melt-in-your-mouth heaven.

Will come back to try their other ochazuke set! They brew something amazing! Trust me, it's a must-try!

We queued for at least 30 minutes before getting a table on a weekday. I think it would take longer on a weekend.
It was my first time trying the ochazuke and I am little disappointed because it was not warm enough and the taste was quite bland. I suggest the restaurant offers the patrons a choice of dashi or tea. Everything else was good but I wish the ochazuke had been warmer and more tasty.

Overpriced for the tiny amount of supply. Still feels very hungry after eating. Taste just so so. Do not recommend.

Coffee stole the show. Very good coffee. Very unique Japanese style food. I expect complex flavour but mostly salty. The portion of condiments too little for me. Not dissapointing but not making me want to come back tho for the price.

It was alright.
Some stuff was overly salty while others were under seasoned. The cheesecake was weird. The place is cramped & patrons can get loud. For a place priced at Aru’s / Antara 128’s price point, I expected more.

Love love this place - friend brought me here when I visited and such a unique dining experience for me as I’ve not had Japanese breakfast in this form. Breakfast was really filling for us and kept us full for decent chuck of the day.

Expect to queue if you’re planning to visit tho - bfast starts at 630/730 and lunch from 1030. Would have loved to try their lunch menu but any later than 9am a queue starts building pretty quickly.

Everything is great. The only downside to the dish is if the soup is kept in a container with a lid to keep it warm or it would be perfect and taste would be nicer if the soup is kept in a tetsubin kettle.

Because when we got to the soup about 10 minutes after it was served, it was completely cold even though the weather was warm that day.

But in return, my latte and our the dessert ice cream are very delicious.

Really excellent food that’s worth every cent. I had the wagyu don without the set. Every spoon I had was well balanced and perfectly proportioned with the amount of ingredients provided. I had a good amount of beef to pair with the rice and condiments to garnish as well.

Had a really funky and interesting pumpkin chocolate ice cream that comes with a set too.

Would highly recommend this establishment!

Great brunch with a unique concept - they focus on ochazuke sets; so you pour tea over rice with a bunch of toppings.

The food is simple and very tasty, and the service is great.

They gave us complimentary ice cream at the end of the meal - and it was also excellent.

Recommend coming earlier in the day as their sets do sell out in the late afternoon.

Have you tried this aesthetic Japanese cafe specialised in ochazuke? I fell in love with the interior the moment I walked in. It’s an intimate cafe so be prepared for the queue. We had the salmon ochazuke set. The presentation was gorgeous. All the side dishes tasted amazing. I personally like the cleanness of the ochazuke but others may find it blend. The mini ice cream was delicious, loved the crispy rice on top.
Overall the vibe, plating and food was great but price was steep for a normal lunch set plus 10% weekend surcharges

We went here for dinner on a saturday, the place is quite small, but very cozy. The waitresses were very attentive, and very quick to clear out our table or took our order.

We ordered the chef’s set menu, and we’re shocked by the amount of food we got. From the starters until the main, we don’t have any complaints at all. They have quite the choice for drinks, ranging from cocktails, umeshu, sake and more.

TLDR; service was good, food were amazing and good value for money

Nice ambience.the waitstaff were friendly and attentive to the last details. The food was well presented but the overall taste wasn’t good. All side dishes were underwhelming. Salmon on the top of ochazuke wasn’t fresh and tasted weird. Ended up having stomachaches…

General: A unique experience with delicious food.

Ordered: We had the Wagyu and chicken set.
Both were lovely and coffee was great.
Miso brownie was fantastic and highly recommend.

Service: Service was lovely and friendly. However there aren’t that many seats so may need to wait a bit.

Price: Slightly on the high side. $30-40 pp

This is not a review about the food, which, I expect, would be delicious.

This is a review of their booking policy, which put me off making a booking: The restaurant has a 75$ minimum spend. Also charges 50$ cancellation fee per person if you appear with fewer people or have to cancel less than 24 hours in advance. No excuse whatsoever accepted.

The presumptuousness of this leaves a bad aftertaste even before eating.

We came for dinner and had the most delightful experience. Atmosphere and service were exceptional. THE FOOD. We ordered 6 dishes. The chefs sent them in courses which were perfectly decided. The food was surprising, engaging and beautifully presented. Everything was immaculately thought out, delicately seasoned and a joy. We ordered mocktails that had so much attention to detail. Thank you for a great dining experience. $150 for 2 people. Very good quality

Nice sultry French music in the background. Food is clean, fresh, simple and tasty. Unfortunately, the breakkie and lunch menu is limited to mainly rice dishes. No bread menu for baked goods lovers.
Staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
