Chevron IGA X-press reviews
18 Good little Spot, hard to see if you are not looking for it.
Well stocked with plenty of specials.
Convenient & stock all the essentials. Prices on the premium end - could do with stronger curation and unique products to justify the prices.
A conveniently placed IGA, right outside the Chevron apartments. Well stocked and maintained, the staff are friendly and the prices are sometimes more cost effective than the bigger supermarkets (safeway, coles etc), but most of the time, you're paying for the convenience. Its walking distance from the Alfred and Fawkner Park. I visit IGA whenever I need some quick items.
Really nice little store with a bunch of nice owners, the only thing I'd say letting it down is parking, I used to have to park in the hospital laneway to do them sometimes but other than that never had a problem delivering here
Lots of products in a small area. Felt cluttered and crowded although I was the only shopper at the time. The front counter gave off ghetto vibes with coughscreens laden with random posts and notices and confronting placement of 'vape' product displays
I noticed they sell vapes and one morning stopped in to grab one. (Recently quit smoking and the nicotine vapes have really helped)
I handed her the money and picked up the vape & asked again to confirm they were the nicotine ones.
At this point the lady snatched it back from me telling me it wasn't and they don't sell illegal stuff.
I then when to grab another from the box as she wasn't giving me the one I had purchased already.
The lady starts screaming like I was about to assault her and trying to grab the vape out of my hand whilst trying to hide the box.
With a shop full of people this also being my local IGA never have I ever been so humiliated.
All of the staff in the store came running to the front, I was made to look like an abusive, violent theif.
I did leave with the vape and took it to the local vape store and sure enough it was nicotine.
The extents people will go to hurt another person to protect their illegal activity is disgraceful.
This is a power packed store with a collection comparatively better than 7-eleven. I love purchasing fruits which are at times offered at reduced prices especially Avocados. The staff are friendly and offer good customer service to navigate through the densely packed store. This store is well maintained and all the items are very handy access offering added advantage to the staff and any person visiting or working at the Alfred Hospital and its surrounding offices.
Good little store with a great assortment though I find it's quite exi if you're looking to do a big shop
I've been shopping here for a couple of years now. The newest owners are very warm and friendly people, and checkout is always super quick. There's a surprisingly large range for the size of the shop, and there are often some great discounts, but it's obviously a bit more expensive than Coles/Woolies etc overall. Ideal for smaller/mid-size shops. Love the melon+strawberry trays.
Everything is ridiculously overpriced. Guy at checkout was quite rude, barely looked or spoke to me and walked off before I'd even finished bagging my own things
Good all round store but prices can be a bit expensive depending on what you're after. Great for convenience though and the staff are friendly.
Was just refused a sale because the item I wanted to buy was less than $5 and I only had my phone with me, no cash. No very convenient for a "convenience" store.
Fong uim has no customer service experience, i was refused to be sold cigarettes after supplyig with Valid ID that was probationary, it had not exceeded its expiry and i also had a photo of my previous L license, im never purchasing from here again.
So handy when you want something quickly close to the Alfred hospital. Not a full range but very good choices, fresh produce, meats quick meals, cold drinks, ice creams, quick heat and eat meals, dairy, bread biscuits and even cards.
No wine beer or nutmeg. Check what you need before you venture down. Can be a massive waste of time
Basic small supermarket with a bit of everything, incredibly expensive and only suitable for small shopping. If you were traveling they would probably be very useful with all sorts of things available.
Very very basic grocery store - no artisanal stuff, no organic, no local brands, no wine or beer. Just basic commercial produce in case you are too lazy to go to a real shop
Small but handy. Still a good selection of products though it probably works best if you live nearby and don't need to find parking.
