Chef Lagenda

Went there on a Thursday to celebrate a birthday lunch. We were starving, and it seemed like the flies were too. We were sat by the window and had to keep fending off the flies. One, on a suicide mission, decided to dive straight into the beef rendang. I scooped it up on a spoon as it was trying to release itself from the curry, and presented it to the person in charge.

They offered another rendang or a refund on the rendang, but I refused both out of frustration, as neither was going to solve the problem.we were disgusted. Everyone had lost their appetite and we left shortly after, leaving food behind.

I informed the staff that there were still flies all over the table, but instead of going to the table to check it out, all they said was sorry (as though they already knew this was an problem in the restaurant).

I think the rating is justified for this alone experience alone. Food itself was nothing to write home about.

Gorgeous food
The most beautiful laksa- generous and full bodied broth. Tender light honey pepper chicken and really good Nasi goreng. Wait staff could be a little more prompt with the service but they were polite enough. Tables were a little sticky and chilled water would have been nice. But cannot complain about the food. Yum.

Unfortunately, it has gone downhill and overpriced.

Good food in the main. The seafood curry laksa was delicious as always, except for the calamari which was rubbery.
The prawn and pork dumpling soup was also very good, with very generously filled dumplings, some of the best I've had.
The meat rolls were just as good.
Vegetatian options are available.
Service was very good for a busy time of day.
Parking is available at the front and rear of the premises.
Wheelchair accessible.
Prices are very reasonable for what you get.
I have eaten at Chef Lagenda several times and have never been disapointed.

We revisited the Deer Park outlet recently, and quite honestly, we were disappointed by the quality of the food, the portions have diminished while the prices have gone up. Smaller portions and higher prices are a sign of the times, but it does not excuse the quality of the food.
It's a shame because this outlet was one of our favourites.

I love the fried noodles in egg gravy. I'm really sad that the Flemington site no longer has it on their menu but really happy it's still at Deer Park! It's extra yum with the pickled green chilli. My partner finds it hard to pick which of his favourite dishes to get each time. Today, he really enjoyed his Nasi Goreng with sambal.

No more roast meat. Shame. Beef rending just slopped in a bowl like dog's breakfast. Hard to eat chunks of meat in a bowl that kept tipping over. Staff very inconsistent. Food ok, but not spicy enough, lack flavour. Table falling over, just propped up.

I left my phone on the table and forgot about it but a wonderful waiter ran after and hand it over be always grateful thanks again be back soon your food is so delicious

Their foods are still good overall but they no longer use premium big and deveined prawns anymore in their seafood curry laksa which is a huge markdown. Lucky their Newmarket shop still the same.

For years I’ve been a customer, I would visit both Deer Park and in Flemington and now they charge me a 10% service fee and no mention of it, didn’t realise until I looked at the receipt. Food is good but I’ll be going to place from now…

Bad service, rushing us to leave and pay the bill before even we haven't finish the food, we just got the meals for 2 minute, we ordered 4 meals, 2 meals come very late until we complain. Bad bad bad service.

Great food. Nice location. Friendly staff. Nice Restaurant. Definitely my 'go-to' for a great meal. Malo!

It used to be my favourite place to go prior to covid but this week I went and ordered my usual seafood curry laksa. Prices gone up, and I received half a bowl with hardly any seafood and maybe two forks of noodles. Very disappointing!

This Malaysian restaurant is always busy, especially in the evenings. The food is delicious although expensive for some main courses. My son and I have Coeliac disease and they serve some gluten free meals. I would recommend Chef Legends to friends and family.

One star for price and -4 for customer service and courtesy. Lady J was very rude and racist. Staff aren’t properly trained to deal with vaccination certificate issues. Kept answering like robots.

Food was good, not as good as other places we have visited but for lockdown Malaysian close to home it was perfect

Nasi Goreng and Chicken curry Laksa are our favourites.

Our go to when we want guaranteed good food. Sometimes they forgot our lemon chicken sauce which was really hard to accept however this was deep within our Covid lockdowns so okay to let go. Their ice blends are one of the best in the area. We miss eating in so looking forward to getting the chance again soon. If you eat there during your birthday when they bring you the cake they play happy birthday really loudly on the speakers - a lot of fun! We always order: crispy pork, kang kong, lemon chicken, beef rendang, spring rolls, iced drinks, fish head soup - always yummy. Five stars because it’s one of our top fave restaurants in the area.

Can't go wrong with any of the chef lagendas. Easy to order, good food with low wait times. Would always reccomend.

Good especial fried rice, the best beef spring rolls, and awesome seafood laksa soup.
Sadly been only take away, few dishes suffered the consequences as the food change in the way home.
Can't wait for reopening day!
