Fabulous authentic food. Clearly freshly prepared, some dishes deliciously spicy. This really is a hidden gem and deceptive in its size. Will absolutely go back - only downside was each dish being brought out one by one over what ended up being 3 hours. It was a long night! But we will return.

Good Chinese food. Ingredient quite fresh. Service is with a smile. The front VIP spot may be nice but a bit hot with its ceiling deco covering the top and blocking the aircond.

The food is served too slowly. Huge slowness. The late table next door had almost finished eating. After several urgings, we were finally told that our dishes were being cooked on the stove. The waiter explained to me that because the dishes we ordered were relatively expensive and not popular enough, the chef could not prepare them first. When cooking, you should cook the cheap dishes that are ordered by many customers first, so that the kitchen can cook several dishes in one large pot and satisfy several other tables at the same time. Well, this explanation is quite honest.

As for the taste of the food, it's okay, but for a restaurant with a per capita price of $100, the food is too average, and the overall taste of the food is salty.

Enjoyed our meal vey much. Tried a lot of Sichuan cuisines before, this one is the most fancy, the most expensive and the most spicy one! Food is delicious and service is above and beyond.
Just be mindful about the spicy level, it will make your mouth burning if you order the dish with 3 chillies next to it.
Only suggestion is the restaurant needs better communication btw front & back house staff. There were orders missing or not be served in a timely manner.

Booked one dining room for a dinner party a few days in advance but I was told no room was available for us (a group of four families) when we arrived. Owner blamed his staff for the mistake, but clearly it's not the staff who fark it up, the owner cancled our booking and gave our room to a much bigger group as they need two dinning rooms. What a greedy and shady business owner.

Service was horrible, wine glasses were wet, table was oily.never go there unless you have a lot of time/money to waste.

The owner also runs David's Hotpot, David’s Master Pot in Glen Waverley, Doncaster East and Melbourne CBD. TRY YOUR BEST TO AVOID!

Brought my colleague last week and I was actually skeptical at first due to the entrance. I was so confused as it was just neon lights? As I walked in, I was mindblown. I would never have imagined that the venue looked this good from its unassuming shop front! As we were sat down, we ordered cocktails. I loved the cocktails. Being of chinese decent myself, I thought that the Bagua thing was a fun little twist. Food was 8/10, I definitely would recommend!

Amazing quality for every dish. The wagyu steak was exquisite. They brought a charcoal grill right to our table. For this price point, every dish was worth it. They even gave us complimentary bread and homemade truffle butter.

Such a good experience in Solarace yesterday! Friendly and patient staff introduced every dishes professionally. The food were fantastic! Fresh, beautiful and tasty. There were also a variety of wines and cocktails to choose and we got great recommendations from the staff. We will come again!

For a restaurant trying to represent a fine dining experience, Solarace didn't match it's price point in terms of service or food quality. I'd like to give you some advice on where I think you can improve:
- Have someone greet guests when they enter. We had to wonder the full length of the restaurant before someone noticed us.
- Complimentary wine feels a bit tacky, as though your trying to make me feel I'm saving money on alcohol.
- Ask customers what they would like to drink. I was never shown a drinks menu or asked if I would like something besides water or the complimentary wine.
- Don't bring out the bread and butter half way through the meal
- Please don't ask me to comment on the food multiple times as I'm eating. I understand the waiting staff are being friendly and polite but I counted 5 times and felt awkward.
- The food was good, however I thought there was a strong focus on presentation but didn't think the same attention was applied to the flavours.
- Having a contestant from MasterChef add to your menu didn't add to the appeal, maybe that'd just me as I don't watch the show.
- Encourage the waiting staff to be more confident, they all seemed nervous and quiet when explaining the food. It was hard to hear them clearly.
- Our meal took 3 hours to be served, and we felt there were long wait times between some courses.

I'm sorry if I've come across harsh, it's just an honest opinion based on other dinning experiences throughout Melbourne at a similar price point.

Such a cool venue!

I went there with my partner and we had the.best.date.night. EVER.

We walked in and was greeted by a strip of neon lights, as if we were walking into the future. Opened the glass doors led by a cute little waitress, and bam, the whole restaurant was lit up with such pretty neon lights!

I ordered the water cocktail, and the lychee was so yum! It went really well with the abalone we had. Would definitely come back again!

The cocktails, the LED panels, the lights, the wood, and the concrete. Just WOW. I would definitely want to bring my girlfriend back here. Maybe for her birthday!

The staff were super nice to us. It was great for us because it was our first time eating at a 'luxury degustation' place

Exquisite, pure elegance, fine dining, perfect!

Chef David Kew is where you need to head next. The quality of the food is next level - each bite is just mouthwatering. Their menu is simple, $145p/h and you get seven delicious courses.

Courses include:
Shared appetizer - sea urchin, beef tataki and duck pate
Fresh oysters
Beef tartare
Steamed snapper
Mushroom forest
Confit duck
Wagyu steak

And of course for the dessert lovers (at an extra cost) we ordered nama chocolate and chocolate cherry blossom tree. These desserts were heaven, they are honestly a must order! If I wasn’t so full, I would’ve considered ordering another round! Oh and don’t forget to order a cocktail and make the experience beyond perfect!

A perfect spot for a date, special occasion, birthday celebration or a treat yoself night out!

This is a place that definitely worthy your second try! Looking forward to see more dish in the winter menu. The A5 full blood Wagyu is my favorite

The restaurant itself is beautiful and the food is very tasty however that’s where it ends for me.
$155.00 per person 5 courses and a dessert you have to share! Yes you heard right I had to share 1 small dessert with my husband.
We walked in and we where the first people there and it was 7pm… you have to ask yourself why?
Waitress was lovely however you could tell she was new as she lacked a lot of confidence and you could feel her panic when she had to serve us, I did feel sorry for her to be honest. Obviously lack of training from management meant that she didn’t know what was on the menu, and didn’t know how to pronounce the name of some ingredients. We had 5 tasty courses however the last course was 5 pieces of wagyu that we had to cook with 1 sauce and a bowl olive oil and that was it! It felt like the last course was an after thought rather than a highlight. There were a total of 2 groups… my husband and I and a table of 4 people next to us and it took 2.5 hours for us to complete or 5 dishes 2 of which were cold dishes.
Would I ever go back? NO, would I recommend anyone go? NO.
For the money it isn’t worth it as we paid over $350 and stopped for cheese burgers on the way home as we were still hungry. We left feeling ripped off

I loved my experience here! I absolutely loved the abalone. I love all things fried but man, can I just say the abalone was something else. Light, crisp batter, and when you bite through that you get a tender chewy abalone texture explode in your mouth! On top of that, the sauce! It was truly a great experience. I also really liked the Cod. The Cod was so unique. Never have I had a fish dish shaped like that in my entire life!

I was extremely looking forward to celebrating my father's 50th birthday here under the impression that Chef David Kew would be exactly like what was on social media - a stunning hotpot x sushi train buffet but alas, I was wrong. I see that they have now scrapped the all you can eat and instead have released a fine dining menu! Unfortunately, I have to find a new restaurant to celebrate my father's birthday and I am heavily disappointed that we couldn't have spent a wonderful meal with the hotpot. I hope you can account this feedback and perhaps rerelease the all you can eat hotpot and sushi train that many social media creators have recommended,

Henry

I loved the steamed fish! It was so different. Tasted like Chinese steamed fish but didn’t at the same time! Tender and juicy, loved it

Went this place many times before lockdown when they have hot pot dishes and really like it.
However, after they changed to fine dining the new set menu and management is horrible. We wait for almost 3hrs and still waiting for few dishes. By the way most of dishes are cold. Also, with raining outside the air con turns too low. The entire dinner time we were so cold. We haven’t finish dinner and walked away.
Really wish they can have a good fine dining menus setup and improve it!
