Rude staff and poor hygiene with food prep at the back of the store not covered and readily accessible to all.

Edit: rating changed as i just saw the owners response describing my review as "mean", clearly doesn't take constructive feedback well and attempts to defend everything from her employees through to food prep left out (and no I wasn't referring to the cheese that was left out).

Thanks for telling me to look at other reviews, I can see you have the same attitude to others.

Cheese glorious cheese and all the delicious bits to go with it. This delightful shop has the best toasted cheese sandwiches & bagels for a cheeky bite to eat or all the ingredients to make platter dreams come true. Staff are friendly and efficient, decor is beautiful and the food is divinely satisfying.

The tomato baguette is amazing, the bread is perfectly crispy while the inside is fluffy, the cheese paired perfectly. The smoke salmon bagel was also delicious!
Warm and friendly service as well! What a gem, if you plan to go to Healesville don’t miss it

How good is this place.
Cheese delish. Lots of variety for a small shop. Lovely Staff. Parking in the main area can be hard but down side streets is ok!

We stopped by for lunch while in Healesville. Their cheesy toasties and smoked salmon-filled bagels were delicious. The lady was very nice and let us try their cheese.

The BEST cheese shop in Victoria! A big call but the selection is amazing, the bagels to die for and the service is the best.

Wow! I thought I liked cheese but I never really appreciated cheese until visiting Cheesemonger Sophie. The stock consisted of many cheese I'd never heard of from European destinations. And there also some amazing local (Australian cheeses). I liked brie, but tasting the Paysan Brie, I now love Brie. The staff were excellent and walked us through the cheese selections. The cheeses had such amazing flavours and textures. Some just melted as soon as they touched the tongue. The store has a good selection of other artisanal snacks and delicacies. We later made a small charcuterie board for dinner using the three cheeses we bought from Cheesemonger Sophie, the pickled onions (also bought from Cheesemonger Sophie), a terrine (that we already had in our fridge, otherwise we would have bought some from Cheesemonger Sophie - there was a interesting selection we wanted to try) and a local red wine (from our stash) - it was superb pairing of foods.

The quality of the produce is amazing and the prices do reflect that quality. BUT the quality-price point is worth it. I'm glad we discovered Cheesemonger Sophie and we will be back

Can not wait to come back here and restock! To the lovely lady who gave my family and I a tasting of Pecorino Romano (among a few), when we got home tonight we made carbonara, it was divine! Thank you for the tip! Such a wide variety of cheese, preserves, salama, biscutes, and the knowledge to go with it.

This place has 5 stars for a reason!
Everyone was so nice, we got the cheese box for two and they even gave us wooden cutlery and extra baguette for our picnic! Not to mention the cheese selection and jams they put in it were delicious.
So glad I found this place by chance, highly recommend and will be back next time I’m in Healesville, thank you!

Bought a cake tasting box and a couple of baguettes and they were delicious. Lovely shop that just entices you to buy a little of everything. If you haven't already, pop in, you won't be disappointed.

Best talaggio toasted and very good croque monsieur (from a French person), amazing local cheese collection and I had a chat with the owner who was really lovely and friendly! I would definitively come back here whenever we are in the area!

Loved visiting Sophie and her cheese shop. The Rueben was to die for and all sampled and bought some amazing cheese. Will return!

We were just going down the street looking for poached eggs, and then we thought, why not try the cheese shop? And boy, we were impressed. A share plate for 2 with different cheeses, different crackers and bread, huge olives and fig paste had us happily filled by the end. It was great and the service was perfect.

This place is the best. They do magnificent toasted sandwiches and have an endless selection of cheese to purchase. A must visit when in Healesville!

We had a wonderful afternoon stopping in at Sophie's for a cheese platter. We had looked at visiting somewhere else but they were closed. We were pleased by this turn of events, the moment we walked into Sophie's store and were hit by the pungent aroma characteristic of good cheese.

My friend is coeliac and it was no trouble for Sophie to provide a cheese platter with some crackers suitable for coeliacs, and honestly, better than the normal crackers. The local fig jam was amazing, as were the muscatels from South Australia.

Great variety of produce to buy in store, too. A gem.

Such an incredible little cheese place! Every element of the brisket toastie was absolutely amazing. Went home with some blue cheese too. Would definitely recommend.

Wow! What a great place to visit whilst in Healesville! Such a beautiful selection of cheeses and it was great having Sophie help out with the selection to bring back to Melbourne.
