Charlie's Auto Museum & Cafe reviews
44 I'd give zero stars if I could. Do not visit this place, it's not worth your time nor the travel. Very unfriendly environment. Bad musty smell ridiculously overpriced items, untoward manners from the owner. We were treated very different today due to race. If you're an older Australian gentlemen then you will have no issues going here but God forbid if you are of another ethnicity. Very non kid friendly, cafe also non existent.
Place was completely empty, as to why we know now. Do not bother at all.
***Please note that the entry door to the museum that is inside of the building states on signage "concession entry $15", yet the old man proceeded to argue that he won't accept concession cards & stated "senior citizens only". Seniors cards & pensioners cards are two different things? Also felt it was a low blow by throwing in "citizen". Very nasty, aloof, old miserable man. Spend your money at places that genuinely deserve & appreciate the support.
This place is Magical cars and bikes from my past I'm 65 and the memories are fantastic
Great collection. A bit dusty. They have 4 lunar park dioramas and lots of vehicles. Charlie was lovely. Only thing I disliked other than the dust was the confederate flag license plate on display.
I was surprised by the amazing variety of rare and unusual cars in the museum. I also enjoyed the eclectic mix of curios on display. I can not recommend this museum highly enough - it's not just for car enthusiasts, but anyone interested the rare and uncommon.
Wow! Why have I not been here. Thought it was a bloke thing.so much history, not just motor vehicles and bikes. There's Charlie with his dry sense of humour and warm, welcoming smile to greet you. Need to go back
Took my kids here on the same day i attended Nordie cafe. Charlie and friend were great.the collection is huge and my car mad son was in heaven whilst my daughter and I looked around and picked our faves. Highly recommend a visit. The cafe is there to look at but not open anymore.
The best $15 I've ever spent! There is something for everyone here and it is so CLEAN. The attention to detail in all displays is to be commended. If the cafe was open, we would have stayed much longer!
An eclectic and unique collection of cars and memorabilia. I've been to a few decent collections over the past few months, but it was refreshing to see a few very rare and rarely seen cars here at Charlie's.
If you are a car enthusiast - this is a must see. Leave about 90 minutes to two hours to browse especially if you're going to have coffee at the museum as well.
A great collection of interesting cars, some of which I didn't even realise existed (especially all the different microcars, I was only aware of the peel p50, and only because of top gear).
A fantastic automotive museum, a definitely must visit on the Mornington peninsula. A sensational collection of all things automotive
Also household items of every type
Highly recommended, allow 4 hours
Must visit this is an awesome place. Visited today with my husband. Charlie the owner is a darling had a great chat with him best wishes Charlie thanks for the experience
Great unexpected find while riding my motorbike around Arthurs Seat on a sunny Sunday Morning. A private indoor car museum.
$15 entry, heaps of parking.
It was very well done, about 40 cars and another 40 motorbikes and other vehicles. Heaps of automobile related bric-a-brac / collectibles.
Its all roped off or protected by glass display cabinets so was hard to get some good pics of the things I liked, but its understandable to prevent theft and damage.
You walk yourself around the displays at your own pace.
I really enjoyed it and will be back with my mates who are interested in the same things.
Also has a 20 seat cafeteria.
A great display of all sorts of amazing and interesting cars, motorcycles, models, pedal cars, etc etc etc.well worth the price of admission and the owner Charlie is a true gentleman and a top bloke.
Definitely a great few hours looking through Charlie's incredible collection of Antique and Vintage items. Loved it.
Great memorabilia! A lovely collection of classic & vintage cars plus plane & ship models & lots of other eclectic items.
Incredible place to visit to seeold cars, motorcycle, autoparts and more antiques.massive collection $15 for adults wihout concession.
Loved it very well set out,
I would definitely give it 5 stars and.
Thanks for the experience.
An absolute "must see" for the serious car enthusiast. And Charlie is ready to impart his wealth of knowledge to any enquirer. You might (will) say "I remember that" or "we had one when I was growing up". Only a couple of K's from Arthur's Seat.
Absolutely Amazing! And if the drive to there doesn't impress you this mans collections certainly will! We had a ball and will be back
