Local gem!
Delicious meat, vegan and vegetarian curries, so fresh and not at all oily. We had delicious spicy chicken skewers, crunchy onion Bhaji, yummy and healthy vegetarian curry, mild vegan butter chicken, and fluffy fresh garlic naan. The food was well portioned, not overly spicy and tasted very fresh and home made. The vegan in our group was amazed at the range of vegan choices. To finish we had an amazing carrot pudding which was simple but so so delicious and flavourful, I would go back for that alone. Also had pistachio ice cream with rose petals and nuts which was not too sweet and very hard to share. The service was warm, friendly and quick. I can’t believe this place isn’t jammed pack, it’s an unappreciated gem in the heart of Coburg.

Best place with amazing atmosphere. Foods were tasty and service was quick. We had good time there and the restaurant felt like home due to smell of incense stick. Highly recommending everyone to give it a try.

Finally after decades, lived and travelled across 4 continents, found the perfect Shahi Paneer (not the sweetened tomato puree template). Thumbs Up, Dal Makhani could be a bit better on taste but the Paneer took the cake. Finally some place vegetarians can vouch for.

We ate here as an adult family a few weeks ago after reading rave reviews on a Facebook Good Karma network and can see why people are so impressed. Great food and I would have given 6 stars for service if I could. Looking forward to going back there soon.

I am only giving 1 star becuase there is no option for zero stars. Ordered Tandori chicker, chicken Malai biti and chicken Jalfarizi.
1. Tandoori was tasteless and not enough salt to the taste. It was also too dry to swallow.
2. Malai Boti was tasteless and also not enough salt to the taste.
Chicken Jalfarizi was too sweet and no spice at all.
3. Raita: my kids said that they put sugar in Raita.

First and last time ordered. Complete waste of Money.

Worst customer service ever. Had to wait for 20 minutes to get the menu. No one brought the menu, I went myself to get the menu in the counter. But still no one came to take the order. Very disappointed with that and got out.

Overall it was a great place! We got the butter chicken, lamb vindaloo and palak paneer. The dishes were packed with flavours and were delicious. The staff were kind and funny. Also, very reasonable priced for what you get. Will definitely be back.

Ordered the chicken tikka masala and it was delicious 10/10, will definitely order from here again highly recommend.

Without doubt one of the best Indian meals I’ve had since moving to Australia. The food is excellent and so happy they are local to us.

We ordered a feast. The lamb cutlets were a standout, the okra and the palak was really tasty too.

My family and I were craving Indian and with fingers crossed we decided to try chandni chowk in coburg this time. Usually most Indian places leave us feeling like we’ve eaten something oily or unbalanced or left feeling bloated. But we were very pleasantly surprised with our culinary experience here. We ordered goat biryani, palak paneer, naans and accompanied that with mango lassi and their chai. We loved everything! The lassi was thick and nothing felt artificial. Every sip felt soooo good. The meat in the biryani was tender and flavourful. The palak paneer had great flavour and texture. My favourite was the chilli naan! Spicy, buttery with the perfect amount of salt! Loved it. Jyotsna, the sweet and attentive manager/co owner spoke to us about our tastes and spice levels and made sure they delivered the chilli naan to our spice levels. With all of the food you could tell that good ingredients went into it. The chai was great too. A little milky for me but I still thoroughly enjoyed the flavours. We hope to keep going back to try out the rest of their menu and to enjoy the very “Indian” vibe at the restaurant.:)

Food was still good but she could definitely use some people skills.

Great service! Indeed a gem in Sydney Road Coburg. Our team was very hungry from a big project that we’re doing nearby but good thing this restaurant is open. Food presentation is also well thought of and their food taste great!

If you are craving for an authentic Indian food, Chandni Chowk is the place! My absolute favourite Indian restaurant in Melbourne. Food is always fantastic no matter what I order, I am always delighted with my meal. Excellent service! Few of my favs.
Chai is a must have! Mouth watering Palak paneer, Dal makhani, goat curry, biryani, chilli naan (omg!), gajar halwa, rabri/jalebee and the list goes on. Highly recommended. Trust me you wouldn’t be disappointed and you’ll go back for more!

Good option in the neighbourhood with some special items in the menu. Chai was too good to start with and the "Gajar ka Halwa" was a great way to finish.

I tried the tandoori rotis with prawn Malabar curry and it was perfect. Will be coming back to try the other options.
