茶記 Cha Kee Hong Kong Cafe (Pinewood, Mount Waverley)

Got $15 tea set of fish and chips plus iced yinyeung, pretty good deal
The place feels very Hong Kong tea restaurant

I think this restaurant is bad it took the food 1 hour to come it is s outrageous and they say there are takeaway orders to do and they do not care about our food they want my kids to be very hungry what service is that.

We normally eat at another Hong Kong cafe for their milk tea, but as their food had declined in taste over time, we were in search of another place where both the milk tea and food were on par with Hong Kong’s standards and this newly opened restaurant exceeded our expectations. We accidentally spilt our iced yin yeung and they very kindly made us another one despite us embarrassingly telling them they did not have to. Although their menu is not massive like some of the other Hong Kong cafes, they did an exceptional job with what we ordered. We will definitely return.

Really enjoyable meal in a great setting! Everything looks and tastes good, and staff are friendly and welcoming. Loved it here, would come again.

First time to this new restaurant. They have another branch in city on Russell St. That one is still popular with long queue. We ordered 3 rice dishes. I loved the baked tomato pork chop of which the tomato base sauce is very profound and has the right sweetness. The pork is tender too. My friend said the other white sauce baked chicken is salty or sour. They couldn't tell
Anyway I will definitely go back for the milk tea and baked tomato sauce pork chop.

Very welcoming, plenty of time taken to explain the items unique to the restaurant.

The Portuguese chicken with baked rice was excellent as was the opportunity to have a great club sandwich and fries (without being in an international hotel).

Looking forward to testing out the other options next visit.

Went there on a Saturday and to my surprised there is a 10% surcharge for weekends? I mean it makes sense if the staff are paid extra and the service was good. But it was in my opinion below average which would have been fine if there was no surcharge.

The food tasted OK, quite authentic. Portion was a little smaller than what I'd prefer.

Overall.it was OK. But I'd go to many other restaurants before coming back here again.

Foods was good, big portions. Service was good! Everyone is friendly. The foods and milk tea were not hot enough for us. I will recommend this and we will return to this restaurant.

Had the afternoon tea set and it was such good value with a small size noodles and a drink! Noodles was done very nicely and the the coffee was strong. Definitely will be back to try other dishes.

Craving for CCT brekkie and this really hit the spot, spacious tables, easy parking nearby, decent variety on the menu to choose from, and affable service as well

Tried the sizzling grill mix and baked pork chop rice. Rice is still hard and not warm at all after baking, how can that be? Food portion way too small especially the sizzling grill mix and is pricy indeed, seems that didn’t do any market research on quantity and price. Very disappointing, will not recommend at all.

Food is much below average with small portion. Noodle is water base instead of soup base. And need to add seasoning to the noodle yourself. Why not buying bulk of instant noodle in Asian market? Overpriced + weekend surcharge, not planning to go back. There are lot of better hong kong restaurants in Mount Waverley and Glen Waverley can be chosen.

We ordered the lunch specials and sizzling mixed grills. The flavours were ok. But the portions were so little, just like the mini size. It was not worthy on the price. It was quite expensive.

Have been to Cha Kee several times since it opened and have enjoyed everything so far! Very generous portion sizes, great value (especially the tea sets) and I rate the house made chilli oil! So delicious, I've added it to everything the curry fish balls taste exactly like you'd get from the street stalls in HK. I really like that the restaurant is always spotlessly clean and tidy and the wait staff and manager are very friendly. A great addition to the local food scene!

Good range of HK cafe style menu with set menu. Milk tea quality is great. Restaurants environment feels new and clean. Hope the quality can be maintained.

Food was fantastic, Holly our waitress was amazing, explaining the menu to us. Very helpful and friendly.
