Ceylon wok reviews
23Great meals the menu changes so you never know what the special will be, better than those global chain stores
Another cheap eat find in Melbourne! Had the non-spicy fish, potatoes and briyani rice under the 1 curry 1 vege option. It came with a big piece of papadum too (eaten before the photo was taken:) Loved the fish!
Generous portion. Really affordable and hearty meal for the price. No wonder there’s always a long queue during lunch hours.
Wow if you love Sri lankan food, this is the place cheap and tasty and delicious better than any other Sri lanka food in the City
There is a reason this place always has a line. Cheap and tasty. Got a good variety of meat and vegetables curries. All were delicious and will definitely be back over and over again
Great and friendly service and they’re not shy with the portions. The beetroot curry is a must try!
Absolutely amazing.
Ceylon Wok not only offers a selection of fresh Sri Lankan dishes, but the food is absolutely delicious. The food is not too spicy and the serving are value for money. I highly recommend this place. Well done
Must try half and half roti and biryani
everything is top notch best sri Lankan I ever had
the eggplant curry is a must try so Smokey and flavourful and hearty biriyani
excellent prices and the staff are friendly and nice
Excellent service and amazing food. In fact they were so kind that they looked after a bag that I had accidentally left behind. Not only is their food good but they went out of their way to safeguard my belongings without losing a single thing inside my bag.
Could you ever find a plate full of delicious vegan meal anywhere else in Melbourne?
My favourite is the fried chilly and hubby loves the chicken meal?
Although the quantity gets lesser by every order
Authentic, cheap, quick eat for lunch. Lots of ppl lining from 12 pm until 2 pm. Sometimes they sold out before 2pm. Lining up to try and explore why ppl loves it that much. Tasty comfort food.
Food is always fresh and delicious. I've also noticed that curries change daily so you can never get bored of eating the same thing. 10/10
If you are after a very tasty, spicy and cheap Sri lankan food, this is the place. The food is amazing, I love their egg plant curry, beans curry, Chicken curry and devis chicken. If you are counting calorie, the food has some fried items and you will see oil in curries but the food will always have consistent taste and is very flavourful. To get the food, you have to be in a queue (thats right, keep 5-7 mins waiting) and select choice of already prepared different types of rice and choice of curries. They do rotate the menu, so on a day you might find a different curry e.g. Eggplant curry is only avaiable on Wednesdays and Fridays. The staff is smily and very quick to serve.
Plesently surprised, great value for money, quick and delicious. Awesome for short lunch break.
Delicious and super cheap Sri Lankan curry options. Veg option is $10 for rice and three veggies + papadam. You can pick from a choice of meat or veg curries. Koththu and other items are also available. There’s always a queue but service is very quick. Eat in portion size is larger compared to take away, so try sitting at the food court and having if you are not in a hurry:)
Went today with decent expectation but was let down with near cold food, which sadly rendered it tasteless, for the most part. It might have been okay with some heat in it, but cold curry is no fun. Wouldn't return based on today's experience.
You wouldn't find a better deal at sri lankan food nearby in Melbourne.
Authentic taste.
Get the 'Lamprais' which is simply amazing. Or the defacto chicken kottu.
Had a take away from this place during odd hours so they had to prepare my orders first.
The portion was huge and the foods were delicious! Deviled chicken is a must if you visit this place. It has a smokiness of a grilled chicken but has some herbs flavoured as well.
The price is considered really cheap for a restaurant in the CBD. I highly recommend it.
How have I only just discovered this place; I don't know. (Possibly because I don't eat in Food Courts very often).
The food is amazingly fantastic, and SO well priced. And very generous servings.
Authentic Sri Lankan food at it's best.
I will be returning often.
Good food is not always colourful, but can certainly be affordable! I ventured to the old school Paramount Centre food court for some Sri Lankan offerings.
The pricing point of this place is great - 1 meat and 2 vege for only $10. They are extremely generous with portions too - they happily added chicken curry sauce and two slices of chicken on top of my selection! The chap manning the store reminded me that $10 is a flat price - “won’t charge you more than that! ” Even after adding complimentary sauce and green salad.
The gigantic plate in front of me can be easily shared among two people. The lentil curry and fish was excellent in terms of flavour, but I found the jackfruit too woody and difficult to chew through. Perhaps I am more accustomed to the sweet variant. Fish in particular was still crispy (I hate soggy fried fish urgh).
I wouldn’t say it’s the best tasting plate of Briyani rice, but I would return solely because the price, service and portions are too good to resist.
