Super friendly staff with helpful tutors. Price is better than others whilst you can have unlimited extra tutorial for free after week 3/10 for a term.

From the moment we called to enquire through to starting our first course, the Centre of Italian Studies has been perfecto. Every staff member makes you feel "part of the family". After 4 weeks and lots to go, we've already learned so much. Our teacher, Marina, is amazing. Always smiling and laughing, she makes learning a new language such a joy. I highly recommend the Centre of Italian Studies if you're looking to learn Italiano.

Great classes, and amazing atmosphere. The teachers here are really passionate about teaching Italian, and each class I was in felt like a family! The VCE classes are amazing and helped me prepare so well for my exam! I learnt so much important grammar and I was really able to apply my knowledge of the language. Teachers are always offering extra help, and the classes are so fun and inclusive. They have amazing resources and I loved learning at CIS! 11/10 would recommend for adult classes and definitely VCE classes!

Definitely, hands-down the BEST place to learn Italian in Melbourne. The teachers I've had have all been native Italian speakers and are able to teach sayings and different ways of speaking etc.that you might normally miss elsewhere. The course content is also exceptional, provides learning in many different ways, visual, aural (hearing different voices and conversations), writing, games, group work, it's very interactive. It just simply is the BEST and I couldn't recommend it any higher:)

I've been coming to classes for a couple of years now. The classes are well structured, interesting and lots of fun, and the teachers are great. I highly recommend.

I have been a student of CIS for many years, starting with their Beginner's Course. Over this time my love for the Italian Language and Culture has grown into a life long passion. This, I feel, is due to the excellent teachers I have had, the curriculum and social activities of the school, and the many friendships I have made with like minded students. Centre of Italian studies is a fantastic school! The teachers are excellent, full of energy, enthusiasm, patience and are super friendly and approachable. I have done both the intensive course (which isn't as scary as it sounds) and the 10 week course. At first the 10 week course felt like I was learning slowly but after the 3rd week you can attend as many extra classes you like for free. If you can spare the time the intensive was amazing and my Italian improved rapidly in my 2 weeks. The school itself feels less like an institution to make money rather than somewhere all the staff are personally invested in us which, for me, makes it very special.

I've studied at CIS (which is like my second home!) for 15 years. The teachers are excellent in all areas - engaging, friendly, imaginative and energetic. - DO NOT study Italian anywhere else!

This is an interactive and engaging way of learning with a group of people all at a similar level. Excellent program. Certainly makes learning a language more fun.

The teachers are very skilled, and extremely engaging. There is a great sense of community, and the staff foster a warm and caring atmosphere. The consistently high quality instruction and complete professionalism of the teachers has really accelerated my language learning, and made the challenge of understanding the culture an absolute pleasure.

This is my fourth term with CIS. I absolutely enjoy studying italian here. All the teachers are very good and the students really have a lot of fun practicing italian in the class. After the third week of each term, the students can join as many classes as they want to. This is truly fantastic.

I have studied at CIS for more than 15 years now and, apart from the great teaching received, there is a real sense of community and friendliness about CIS. I have fond memories of the many social occasions in which i could socialise and interact with other students as well with the teachers and practise italian in a relaxed social setting.

Wow! This is such an amazing place to learn a language. I've been with the school this year and enjoyed three different teachers who were all brilliant in their own style.
Staff are incredibly friendly from the moment you approach the front desk until you wave goodbye to your teacher in the classroom.
There were lots of nice people in all my classes and students consisted of all adult ages. It was not unusual to grab a meal after class and practise what we'd learnt in class.
I was even inspired to travel to Rome and continue my learning at a school organised by the CIS. They can even arrange that!
If you're after pedagogical excellence in language delivered by charming personalities then I highly recommend the CIS.

The charming and inviting Centre of Italian Studies cultivates an environment which is palatable for even the most diffident student. The teachers are charismatic, highly knowledgeable and incredibly friendly. The lessons are punctuated with quirky little activities to ensure we are engaged the whole time. I'm currently taking Level 2 Italian and loving every minute of it. Antonello delivers the content with good humour and boundless enthusiasm, and he always accommodates the varying learning styles. Fabulous teacher! Looking forward to Level 3.
