Centenary Park Golf Course reviews
36Took my 7 and 9 year old boys to the driving range for their first proper lash. The kids hire clubs were out on the course, but an extremely helpful young gentleman manning the pro shop went out of his way to locate some suitable clubs from the shed next to the range, at no cost. This is a friendly, inclusive and welcoming golf course - the kids had a ball and will be back for lessons)
Summer night walks.
I do play golf, but most of the time I just walk around the course with my husband.
Pram in toe, we walk and talk. Our 9 year old also joins us and to be honestly it's lovely and clean. Grass is well maintained.
As for if it's a good golf course. I truly couldn't begin to tell you what makes a good one.
Only because hole 4 is a joke. How do you spell "Temporarily" again? Is it P. ER. M. A. N. E. N. T. L. Y?
And if you do mean PERMANENTLY, can you at least build a decent green? And maybe edit the apps and court description to be accurate?
Seriously!
Good greens and fairways. Just need a hammer to belt you tees into the ground on the tee boxes.
Hit the driving range, they could do with some new balls but was working on some shaping so wasn’t too worried
Course is in good condition at the moment, do yourself a favour and get down there for a game
Pretty disappointing when your playing a round of golf and either before you start or after 9 holes you don't have any food options hot/cold when the weather is like it is.
Need something special to get me playing back therr
Great public course, can get busy meaning you're stuck being slower players. Great deals in the afternoons.
Great course and well maintained. But it must be said this course plays extremely slow on a weekend.
Before lockdown, we walked off the course on a Saturday on the 16th hole after 5 and a half hours. If we played all 18 holes it would have taken us close to 6 and a half or even 7 hours. 4 Balls on the green, on the fairway and 2-3 groups waiting on every tee.
I just chalked it up as a busy day but mates played 9 holes last Saturday and it took them almost 4 hours.for 9 holes!
Not really enjoyable if you have to wait 5-10 minutes on every shot.
Played today and course was pretty disappointing. A couple of greens out of action due to some clown supposedly vandalising the greens. Not sure how much rain they have had in last day or so but clearly course doesn't cope well with rain. Some fairways very slushy and with not much grass. Doubt I will be back
Staff were friendly but it took 6-8 weeks (and still waiting) for my club to be repaired. I had no follow up contact with anyone as I was always contacting the shop. Was told by staff it was “drying “ and I would be called when ready for pick up. No one called.
Love this public golf course! Today played beautifully and broke 80's (ie. Scored 78; +6 with 4birdies, 7pars, 3bogeys &4 doubles) first time in my playing years with a HC of 15! 8Apr2021
As bill Murray once said "I'm not an alcoholic, I only drink two times a year. When it's my birthday, and when it's not my birthday. " I couldn't disagree with what his saying
Best publi c course in SE Melb. In excellent condition, the new groundstaff are doing a great job
Excellent course. Conditions are great all year round. Gem of a course and well worth the price.
I have nothing but good things to say about this club and course, the course itself is amazing but the staff themselves are amazing as well. I had a round on Friday and after a friend cancelled on me the young guy that was working accommodated me ten-fold. This is one of my favourite courses to play and it makes a big difference when the people working there are as nice as they are.
Good golf for the price. I first reviewed when I only played the back 9. Played the whole course and loved it. This could be a really top course with some attention to detail
Been playing for 30 years, never had a lesson and it showed. Wanted to get better, so asked a very good golfer I know who he would recommend. I was sent to see Warren Young at Centenary Park, and boy am I glad I did. Warren is an amazing coach - friendly, knowledgable and able to get my swing fixed and my enjoyment of the game elevated hugely. He also fitted me for new irons - his skills in shaft & club selection matched me perfectly and I've never hit them better. He's an absolute legend - can't recommend him highly enough.
It's a nice course but there's a bit going on at the moment in terms of works lots of GUR a temporary green cored greens and a lot of ground water in some areas but still an enjoyable experience at value
