Cecconi's Flinders Lane Restaurant & Cellar Bar reviews
71Excellent service and quality food. On a busy night they seamlessly accommodated 6 of us when I mistakenly booked a different date.
Food was average and nothing to brag about; service was lacklustre. We booked right before the dinner service so it was quiet when we arrived. Despite this the service was slow. Although there were 3 people behind the desk, I was oddly not greeted at the door or shown to our table. I had to try and locate my friend in the restaurant after standing and waiting. I had to wait 10-15mins before I was even offered water or a menu. Every other table had a waiter tell them of the specials. We were offered no such service. A simple "do you know what you would like to order or do you have any questions? " was all that was provided to us. We almost chipped a tooth biting on the complementary bread. The pasta was undercooked and we tried to get someones attention with no luck. Our seafood pasta was swimming in oily soup sauce. The gnocchi was also bland as anything, where no amount of salt could salvage it. The measley three pieces of lamb the size of a thumb that we got on the gnocchi was so dry and tough that your jaw managed to get a workout. To top it all off, we weren't offered dessert and we hadn't even finished our meal yet a waitress tried to clear the table.
A tip: go and spend your money elsewhere.
Great experience, until you receive the bill. Food is consistently good and service is excellent, but prices are rather excessive. Small starters are over $30, mains $50-60, a few leaves of salad or a handful of fries $12, $130 for a bottle of wine that retails for $25 at Dan Murphy's. You really can't justify these prices. Oh, and we paid over $100 for water.
I had great calamari for starters. But it was 10pm by the time I got gnocchi for mains and it was too heavy.
Not many options for gluten intolerance.
- terrible service
- unfriendly from the host to the waiters
- food was mediocre
- waited over an hour for food but apparently that is "fine dining"
- food and service not matching price
- wouldn't recommend you would get better customer service from macdonalds to be honest
Old school fine dining, best gnocchi I've ever had. Flavours are so good. Loved for date night, quiet enough for conversation. Great service. Side note, loved the interior lights (where are they from?)
Used to be very good food. Unfortunately, definitely not anymore, may be changing chef's. Very ordinary cooking and also I never being to any fine dinning that serves side vegetables with Tomato sauce and Mayonnaise. Is this a new trend? I don't know, but definitely I would not serve this to my guests.
Watch out your bill when you are ordering wine. Large group and apparently 8 bottles of wine, which 4 of that I haven’t even order. Services charge 10%$300 plus the food booking etc etc.a bit disappointed. The booking was 7: 30 and the second dish was served 10: 10 pm. Plus one friend was left without food while everyone got our dish. ️. Never come back again. My Bday celebration and I was feeling like the guilty for book wrong.
Excellent, and I mean excellent, in every way. Great service, food, dessert and vibe. Great place for the 30th birthday we were celebrating!
I have lunched here many times and never had reason to complain. Great atmosphere with excellent service and always superb food.
Had a booking for 8 people, was escorted to the private dining room upon arrival. The moment we entered, we were greeted by super friendly and professional staff. The food is amazing - I’ve been to Michelin star restaurants and this is seriously up there if not better. Could not be happier with my service and experience at this fantastic restaurant. 1000000/10.
A Fine dinning place to enjoy food. We did not order wine, but the seafood dishes and side dish are good. Friendly staffs and they are not rushing you to leave.
One of my favourite restaurant in Melbourne! Amazing food and cocktails! Waiters are friendly and super processional. Excellent value for money compare to some other "fine dinging" restaurants.
Beautiful venue, the staff are lovely but the food is out of this world amazing. Well done chefs. Can’t wait to return soon!
The place that never disappoints
Fresh Oysters every time.
I cannot recommend a meal as I have had many here and all have been Number 1
This restuarant is seriously over priced for what you get. Their staff are excellent, as is the venue but unfortunately a big let down if you are a foodie. For these prices I'd expect it to be one of Melbournes better establishments but its just average. If they took $20 of their mains then it might meet expectations.
Arancini balls were super tasty. Eggplant croquettes were also good. Chips a little disappointing - not particularly crunchy. Good place to go with a bunch of friends and you don’t mind the noise.
Went for our anniversary dinner. A big shout out to the waiting staff who were absolutely amazing, service was just perfect. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and the ambience was lovely. Definitely recommend this place.
Beautiful food and wine, service was ok wouldn't say it was amazing considering the money you're spending
What an incredible dinner.
Ribeye was the best Ive had in along time and the service made my family feel comfortable and relaxed.
The Barolo was so good i forgot I had a basketball game at the North Melbourne Rec Centre with the booze more giants.
