Casa Iberica Deli reviews
28 A good selection of Spanish and Portuguese products. Some are expensive but others have a good price.
They also have a good selection of wines!
Good range of Spanish and Mexican stuff. Not the full range their Johnson Street deli has, but a growing range nevertheless. The staff are always helpful when asked something.
Great Spanish food to buy but the chai I got from the cafe was lacking the chai, tasted like hot milk so won't be getting any hot drinks from the cafe again
Very disappointed with this Casa Ibérica, first and last time I visit, and wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
We went on 9 July 2022 and:
The harina pan out had expiration month August 2022, they could give me some with expiration in October, it was the latest they had.
I got Pirulin and just looking for the expiration date and it has been erased, but not properly, so I can see that the date was NOV 2021, this is absolutely ridiculous.
Not much variety. Presentation is 0.
Price is extremely high. Can find same item cheaper than that from various different places.
OMG! What a disappointment!
I have been wanting to go to return to this shop forever to buy foods from South America and from Portugal/Spain.oh well.
What once was a shop with a great variety of products from those places is now a shop that you do not feel like staying inside for long. There are very few products from Portugal/Spain/South America, and lots of Australian products as well. Nothing special as it used to be. The products are not well organized, there are boxes in the middle of the floor where someone was adding them to the shelves (?) or they were just really sitting there. Not a lot of variety and when you touch the items you can see that they have been there for a while due to the dust in the package.
I said to the people that were there with me that I will call it: the Shop D, Dirty, Dusty, Dark and disappointing. Felt like having a torch to see things inside.
Besides it all, very expensive!
Sorry, but there was nothing really attractive regarding items from South America or from the Iberia Peninsula. Definitely a place that had been really great and with time it is just disappearing.
Good range of Spanish and Mexican stuff. Not the full range their Johnson Street deli has, but a growing range nevertheless.
One of the best paella’s I’ve ever had. During lockdown served takeaway some weekends out a side window. Check out the ‘one man one pan’ Facebook page
Lovely new addition to Alphington. Friendly staff, yummy treats and good coffee. Will be trying the burrito next time for sure!
Never knew this place existed until someone told me about it. Wow. Fantastic range of South and middle America foods.
Can't wait to try some recipes that I didn't think I could get the ingredients for. Muchos gracias
Big selection of quality Mexican and South American goods! Fresh, frozen and pantry items.
Great friendly service from the young man at the counter
Tortillas aren't bloody made with cornflour! Great little shop with traditional ingredients and utensils. Love it.
It is great to find South and Central American foods, however is quite expensive. There are cheaper places available. They had a pretty awesome range of tequilas
Casa Iberia is the best deli in Melbourne, wonderful produce, very knowledgeable staff, family business and if you're looking for Spanish, Portuguese or South America products, this is the place. Highly recommend it! Thanks Mericia.
An amazing little place for South American, spanish/European, American items.will be a regular place for me
Nice place to find products that you can't find on regular supermarkets
I love certain mexican products as Tajin and Salsa Valentina which I haven't been able to find anywhere else
Plenty of South American style inspiring foods, spices, sauces and drinks to mix and match. Hidden away in the back streets of Alphington, well worth the adventure of the journey.
Absolutely enchanting place. Crossing through the front door felt like stepping into a tiendita. Super organized as well. I found all the dried chiles I was looking for.
What an awful experience that I had in this store! I bought some groceries last week and just found out that one pack of biscuits is expired. I came back to store, but the lady there didn't want to give me any solution at the beginning with rude attitude. I told them all of the packs of this biscuit are expired, they should remove them from the shelves. The lady didn't even feel sorry with it, no apologies. I even felt like it's an okay thing to sell expired food for customers.
She even asked me to come back next time to speak to the lady who's in charge.
I will never come back to this store again even though I was a regular. Not recommended at all!
A smaller version of the Fitzroy store but had everything that I needed. Will go here for my Yerba maté from now on as it is closer to were I live. Also a good place to get a few items from South Africa like Black Cat peanut butter and Koo jams. The staff are great and super helpful.
