Captain Gummy's Fish & Chips

Ordered fish and chips 40 minutes before the shop closed and they were disgusting. Over cooked snd dry, spring roll was burnt, fish was dry, potato cakes like rock. As if they hadn't changed the oil when it was due. The guy looked annoyed when I paid by card instead of cash. Very disappointed as previous orders from here have always been great. New owners maybe?

Prices are extremely high for what is provided. In fact the prices charged will make me think twice about ordering takeaway in future. In my opinion not worth it

Fantastic food and the best customer service ive seen in a long time Im now their regular customer for sure!

This restaurant has terrible customer service and when I got where I have chips drenched in oil and the chips were tastiest not coming back ever again

Captan Gummy is the best fish and chips place they give you an extra potato cake when you ask for 2 3 or 4 its so good

Been here a few times. Generally quite OK. But recently the Flatheads and Blue Grenadier were rubbery and not so good flavouring. A bit below average.

Minimum chips here are a good size. Offered a variety salts for the chips. Chips were golden and tasty.

Nice clean shop, but was a bit concerned when one of the staff was eating food in the food prep.area. Staff not as friendly as my usual seafood shop, but maybe I'm a bit spoilt

Fish (flake) was good. Chips average. Service extremely slow. Wouldn’t want to be there when it was busy.

Excellent fish and chips and excellent service every time! Plus, reasonable prices and generous portion sizes making them the best in the area. More like Captain Yummy's!

Unfortunately can't review with no stars a month ago here owners son used his bare hands to put a slice of cheese on my hamburger

These people don't learn
I'd safely say pick any other establishment now that's a better option
For the record chips aren't meant to be soggy they are meant to crunch!

Ordered fish and chips here tonight and although the food was good, the behaviour by some of the patrons was appalling. With a maximum of 4 people in the store at a time, staff should have told patrons to wait outside like everyone else with common sense and common courtesy. Instead people waited inside because it was cold outside and became abusive when other patrons told them to move outside so they could order. Staff need to do a better job at enforcing social distancing laws and ensuring that people can order in a timely manner by telling them to wait outside for their order to be called. Won’t be going back while restrictions are in place. What a joke.

First time going here tonight, can’t believe we hadn’t tried it earlier! We got a lamb souvlaki, burger with the lot & chips. It was all amazing, couldn’t fault a thing.

Absolutely amazing, the best HSP Ive ever had, real lamb real chicken an amazing price, definitely do not skip the chance to try it

Disapointed for the reason you guys serve burnt food. The owner himself packed the food and let it pass. 6 out of 8 potatoes cakes literally had very dark areas. Too afraid to eat it.
The fish (flake) tasted like it had ammonia
If i could post the picture of the food you served me tonight (phone order 46) I would have.
Take more pride in the food you served. You will lose customers.
Captain Gummy's was once the place to get the best fish.

Solid 4 piece all day, The fried flake is possibly the best or evens with a certain nearby shop.
The service is good and product is very good.
Little bit pricier than a certain local option.
But worth it.
We are fortunate in the Doncaster East area to have such good Fish and chips.
Go out and get it now

This shop has gone way down since it opened years ago.
Souvlaki from there today for lunch.
Now I'm feeling very sick.
I should have picked up on the warning signs while they were making it, but my hunger got the better of me.
Never going back.
Leave the souvlaki making to the experts!

Award for most hilarious name of a fish and chip shop. The chips are plentiful and I spent a good 20 minutes talking about My Chemical Romance with someone behind the counter one Sunday arvo. Recommended.

Ridiculously small potato cakes, literally the size of 4 20c coins each. I paid $1.10 EACH for them!
