We recently enlisted Capital Builders to build our extension. We honestly could not have been happier with the process and result. We were living here during the entire build (8 months) and the guys who worked on the job each day were so accommodating to my family and I, we couldn't be more thrilled with the end result. Thank you Capital - we would highly recommend you to anyone who was interested in building/renovating. If we were to renovate again, I wouldn't hesitate in getting Capital to do it.

Capital completed our extension in August 2021, and we are extremely happy with the result and overall experience. Our small semi-detached bungalow has been transformed with a second storey addition (2 bedrooms, bathroom, & retreat) and a remodelling of the existing ground floor to increase living space to accommodate for our growing family.

After initially engaging with another build company and feeling a little unsure about proceeding, we began to look at other options and came across Capital Building Contractors. Our initial communication at Capital was with Dean (designer) who was fantastic to deal with, he took our ideas onboard and went above and beyond to come up with a final design that exceeded our expectations. Dean also took the time to meet up with us out of hours to showcase a number of other Capital projects to ensure that we were happy with their quality and craftsmanship.

Builders Tom & Travis, as well as Patricia & the office team ensured the build process was smooth sailing. Nothing was too much trouble and communication was excellent from start to finish. We share a common wall and driveway with neighbouring apartments and Capital were also great in communicating with our neighbours to ensure there were no issues throughout the process in what was a very confined work area.

Positive customer reviews gave us confidence in proceeding with Capital, and we are now happy to add one ourselves. The job was completed on time and on budget & the results are beyond our expectations. We can highly recommend Capital Building Contactors to anyone considering an extension or renovation.

I was nervous about doing an upstairs extension and living in the house whilst it was done. I didn't want to lose the character of our federation house, didn't want the extension to look like an extension and didn't want to over capitalise. With Capital building they listened and we are pleased to say our extension looks amazing, like it was always part of the house. We have been living in our upstairs extension for eight weeks now and could not be happier. We started our extension the week of when CV19 started in Melbourne mid march, so much unknown for us and Capital building - the roof was off and we didn't know what the government would do and how the virus was spreading. Travis and the builders onsite were amazing, they powered through the extension (whilst we lived through it and were now working from home and home schooling to add to the complexity). The team was always so respectful and helpful and Travis couldn't do enough, to ensure you were satisfied with what was happening. In 3.5 months we had a new upstairs extension with high quality products and build. Travis knows what he is doing and will not cut corners to make more money for himself. Overall considering we started an extension we were living through when a pandemic started, we could not have been more pleased with how it all worked out and are now enjoying living upstairs for the stage four Vic lockdown. Also from our research Capital Building were the most competitive in pricing for us and I was prepared for lots of variations, which was actually minimal if not non existent - which was also was my fear based on all the feedback we had got from other people who had done extensions. The lack of variations (scoping correctly up front) stopped what I could have imagined lots of difficult discussions. Would recommend doing an extension if you are nervous like I was, also it's not that bad to live in the house whilst the extension happens (much better than I had prepare for) and third capital building (Travis) has high integrity which is hard to find in this industry these days.

We are very happy with our decision to go with Capital and would definitely recommend them. Capital was actually recommended to us by a friend who had used Capital for their whole house renovation and extension, which gave us confidence from the start. Our project was also a full renovation and extension of our 1920s Californian bungalow and overall we are very happy with the result. When we approached Capital we already had plans drawn up by an architect and were at tender stage. We dealt with Travis throughout the whole process from tender to the completion of construction and found him to be very approachable and easy to get along with. There were a few issues along the way (largely out of Travis' control) that delayed the project but Travis always kept us in the loop, which we really appreciated. He was also willing to work with certain trades that we had already selected (for joinery and hydronic heating) which again was really appreciated. We have no hesitation in recommending Capital.

Starting with design, through to construction and the final product, I am over the moon with the result of my second storey extension. I am so happy I went to the trouble of thoroughly researching this company as it has more than paid off. The quality of of their work, their honesty and integrity, and the job finishing on budget, and well within the contract time was a relief. The builders and staff were amazing with some having gone far and beyond expectations - I would not hesitate in recommending Capital Builders.

Capital building finished out renovation 8 weeks ago and we could not be happier with the result. Their staff were all great to deal with and the process was seamless. We finished on time and on budget (my husband was thrilled with this). The quality of workmanship is excellent. I could not recommend these guys highly enough. Nothing was to much trouble and our end result was better than we expected. Thank you to you all. I look forward to using you again one day if Pete will ever let me leave this house.

We found Capital Building to be professional, excellent workmenship, accomondating and patient (we were 1st time renovators). Our reno included a second level, kitchen, 3 bathrooms, and more. We are extremely satisfied with the quality of the finish with no issues or regrets.

Disappointing. Rushed the job and was required to return to fix poor workmanship. Denied agreements and didn't follow the plans. In dispute over drainage, they sent us to the plumbing commission but then refused to take direction from them.

Watched CBC working on a house on Jasper Rd, Bentleigh late 2014, and decided to choose this building company to do the extension at our place. That was in late 2015. By early 2016, the project was already completed as the contract stated. We are pleased with the quality of the result. So far so good.

I've just got off the phone from Peter, and his building knowledge is second to none! His genuine concern for the best-bang-for-the-buck for my investment property in Melbourne.

We've opted for a second floor extension to eventually maximise our rental return.

Over many years I have employed Capital and also recommended them to family and friends. We approached the Capital team for assistance with a "Design and Construct" at our current premises. The team were very helpful throughout the process. Unfortunately we did not proceed with the Project, but will contact the team again should we decide renovation is for us:)
