Capel Sound Fish and Chips

Great fish and chips. Small order was very large, hot, fresh, and very plentiful. Great find.

Honestly a bit disappointed, chips undercooked (also a weird yellow colour?), deep fried fish soggy, grilled fished was missing (went back, they apologized and rectified it including a free drink for our trouble which was generous.)

We ordered $8 worth of chips as we were told the minimum ($5) wouldn't be enough for 4, the $8 looked the same qty as last time we got minimum.

Been there a number of times, sometimes good, sometimes average.this time was the latter.

Best fish and chips on the peninsula hands down! Fresh flake and always a decent size and the chips are always yummy!

Best chicken souvlaki around Rosebud and Rye. Meat is tender and flavourful.just the right amount of lettuce, onion, tomato and garlic sauce. Staff are always friendly and happy to make simple changes.
Havent had their fish and chips yet but heard they are the best in Rosebud. Their souvlaki surprised me as they are better than the offical souvlaki shop a few doors down.

I would give 0 stars if I can. Fish was off. When I told them about it they were extremely rude and told me it was bullsh! T. I threw it all in the bin. Will never come here again.

Fish and chips were really greasy, chips soggy and the grilled fish gave our toddler food poisoning. Do not recomend getting fish and chips here.

The fish was literally off and smelt really bad you expect fresh fish to be told it’s frozen, God knows how long it was there for. Stay clear from this place! When we approached the owner he told us that was “bullshit” he so rude and arrogant. Never again

All of the workers here are very friendly. Yan fixes phones up as well here as well, he’s worked on my phone multiple times and has fixed it up magically each time, great pricing as well. I recommend highly ️ Thanks Yan!

Just ordinary, not like it used to be, shame the prawns were battered and greasy, potato cakes tasted old, way too much soy sauce on dim sims. We won’t back

I choose Capel Sound Takeaway as my regular Fish and Chip Shop because of the good quality food. Yan and Wen take the time to get to know their customers offering a friendly service

I've only had the two person pack (2 flake, 2 potato cakes, 2 dim-sims and chips), in saying that I can't fault any of it. Not overly greasy or salty and it's just enough for two people.
The service is friendly and quick with a great atmosphere.

Good Fish and chip food but the potato cakes were not in house and the batter was a little bitter.

While I was waiting for my takeaway order, there was a passer-by who asked those waiting for their fish and chips for testimonials from any regular customers. It seemed everyone except for one person must have been a tourist, as they all said it was their first time, and it seems the locals must know not to visit this place.

I had the family pack, and unfortunately, the fish was very, very dry, and the potato cakes and chips tasted dry as well, and very lacking in potato. The dim sims were okay, however, they tasted as good as a nice supermarket bought frozen dim sim.

A friend had the steak burger, which he said was good. But for a shop professing to specialise in fish and chips, the fish and chips were a bit disappointing.

I had a sound problem with my iPhone. I Dropped it into Yan at 11am today picked it up at 2pm.what fantastic service.

Terrible food. Chips had no seasoning at all and the batter tasted like cardboard. Staff was rude

Had the flathead and it was a very small fish, tasted pretty average. Dimmies were good but you can never go wrong with them

Good fish shop. Clean tidy and covid safe. We had a good feed or fish and chips. We ordered ahead of time as and our order was ready on time. Everything was cooked very well.

Terrible - ripped us off.
I ordered and pre paid for 2 meals, but when I went to collect they had closed early and we went the next day to ask for the meals, or at least a refund, they refused.
Very rude staff who became aggressive when we just wanted the food we paid for.

Good fish n chips.
Long wait when it's school holidays or long weekend, Easter Friday waited hour and a half even after ordering by phone. With the wait though. Staff are run off their feet.
Been here multiple time and food is consistently good. Well done.
