Cape Paterson Holiday Park reviews
43Great caravan park awesome views of the beach. Facilities excellent would recommend this park. Thankyou
We spent two nights at oceanview site 13, closed to every facilities.we have a little “window” to overlook the ocean, absolutely stunning and beyond words! It’s really windy during our stay (we’ve been advised). But on the bright side, we r able to test out our tent haha.
The reception ladies are friendly as well~ will highly recommend!
We stayed in one of the villas and it was a fantastic experience. Beautifully appointed, great views, excellent service and we can't wait to come back again.
Oh Carol, she is just the best, found us the best site, the cleaning team awesome the cleanest amenities in Australia, going back again this week. Just amazing views white sand just Superb
Excellent accommodation in a cabin.
Brilliant views across the sea.
Great place to walk. Sea a bit cold for a dip in July!
One of the best places I have stayed in. It was such a lovely cabin (more like a quality hotel really). The location, view, comfort were all top quality.
It was great to have ocean view site but actually it is still far away from sea, I was expecting to see the sea in the tent. It is still very good but strong wind in the winter.
Toilet and shower is very clean, need access code to the amenity. Fire prohibited
Never in a million years did I picture myself drinking my morning coffee on our very own deck, looking out at the most spectacular ocean view; but that’s exactly how I have spent the last few mornings.
The cabins are beautifully presented. Super clean, very modern complete with everything you need to enjoy some peace and quiet and well needed family time.
Madeleine at reception could not have been more helpful with excellent communication and very prompt responses to my requests via email. The booking process was easy and staying for 4 nights enabled us to take advantage of a discounted price.
This holiday is our first since covid and will most definitely not be our last to this amazing holiday park.
Nice campground directly at the beach. Super clean amenities, friendly staff and great atmosphere!
We’ve been holidaying at Cape Patterson for over 20 years but unfortunately it will be the last. The views of the beach are fantastic and park location one of the best but Ingenia are out pricing people. We would normally make an advance booking, paid in full & no alterations at $46 per night & to get the same thing for next year will be $64 per night, off peak. If we just ring up for a random weekend the price jumps to $73 per night. It’s an old fashioned park, no pool & limited facilities to justify the price. Not sure what they’re thinking because there are other parks with more to offer for less money. Sad
It's very nice place to enjoy your holiday.clean facilities, families park safe and friendly staff.
Cape Paterson is one of the most beautiful places to take your family for a holiday. Our family has visited the park for nearly 10 years now and have enjoyed a powered site at the Kywong Site around the Christmas period. Unfortunately, this will be our last stay as the price is increasing at a rate we feel is not anywhere near in line with similar parks (next year alone it is going up around from $824 for 7 nights to nearly $1100, after significant increases in the years prior) The park itself is great, although we have personally seen no improvements to justify the enormous price hike. The Cape Paterson beaches and surrounding areas are wonderful but be prepared to pay for the privilege.
Me & my family recently stayed in a 3 bedroom villa over New Years for a week, beach was abit new to us because we always head elsewhere but due to the floods we made a change and hit the beach.
This park was amazing! The villas are very modern & everyone and staff included are very friendly.
2 staff members even went out of there way & ran out in the rain to leave us a grazing board of platters.
Things like that give places 5 stars & a good name.
We did not have a good experience with this holiday park and would NOT recommend it. The manager lied about the camping site having ocean views - our views were of trees and not even a tiny glimpse of the ocean could be seen. The woman on Reception was rude and had another customer in tears while I was waiting to speak to her. Not a nice experience at all. I would never go back to this place. The staff aren't nice and no one deserves to be treated the way I was, or the other lady I witnessed being spoken to so rudely.
Lovely location, overlooks Cape Paterson beach which is spectacular and the most gorgeous sunsets. The Park has three sections, the main area near the office, a more bushy area and a permanent park. They have some magnificent cabins sitting on the cliff edge with a deck and barbecue. There’s a playground, jumping pillow for the kids, no pool but there’s a small rock ocean pool at the beautiful beach. Toilet blocks are a little old but kept very clean, there’s a combined disabled toilet and shower which could be easily accessed with a wheelchair. A camp kitchen with tables and chairs, a small fire pit are in the main park, as well as a barbecue. It can get quite windy being on the cliff so bring extra tie downs for caravan awnings and tents. Prices are fairly pricey on long weekends and peak holiday periods but that’s quite common nowadays from the corporate style chains. Join G’day rewards before or when you book, gives you a discount at all their parks. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Nice pub and a few cafes 5 mins walk away, also a fish and chip van with hot jam donuts just outside the park gates but he is open limited times. The Victoria Desalination plant isn’t far away, it’s not actually used but has a lovely 6km walk/ ride around it with picnic areas.
Beautiful ocean view, easy access to the beach. 10mins drive to town center to grab food. Nice and clean facilities. Great experience.
Lovely location and sites, amenities are a bit old but kept really clean. So close to the beach, great park!
DO NOT STAY HERE!
Would highly recommend not even considering it, the people who work here have no compassion and are extremally rude.
We travelled 4 hours to stay here and upon arrival were told that we weren't allowed to stay with our dog. Even though we had called in advance and confirmed this with one of the ladies. Upon our frustration we were told that this was not their fault and we would have made the error, they took no responsibility at all. They left us without a place to stay over the long weekend and refused to refund our money straight away.so we were left without our money to rebook and scrabbling over easter weekend to try and find somewhere to stay.would highly recommend staying anywhere else!
Seems to be that many people have had a very similar experience to what we had!
Great spot, close to lovely safe beaches. We were welcomed by Rhonda & Rueben, who couldn’t do more for us. We had a big group (23) meeting at the two cabins & around. Rhonda was kind enough to allocate camping & van sites close by so we could all get together easily.
We were even gifted some jam donuts from the on site coffee van.
Highly recommended.
We (three groups of families) have stayed for Australia Day the past two years. When trying to rebook for this year, we were told we couldn’t. We had no choice but to accept this, so decided to book for the labor day long weekend instead. After booking in Jan 2021, and CONFIRMING our stay with staff on the 9th January 2022, I received a phone call yesterday cancelling our booking, as they ‘thought’ we were coming in February…. We are obviously so disappointed, as now we have nowhere to go. The lady I spoke with was completely unsympathetic and made it clear that she didn’t really care, as they are fully booked! She also mentioned that they were calling ‘all’ the families that hadn’t arrived that day, so I suspect that we are not the only ones that this has happened to…… be careful staying here…. Totally disorganized and you can’t trust that your holiday will actually happen….
