Canadian Bay Pizza reviews
43Brought from them a few times pasta is always fresh and tasty when I called staff were friendly and always fulfill my requests for changes would recommend.
Ordered food online through menulog and after the delivery time blew out, followed up and found the food was never coming and i couldnt be refunded.
Delivery was 45 minutes late even though we pre ordered through menulog for a specific delivery time. When we spoke to the restaurant they told us they got busy and we were now last in line and that the time we ordered for is very busy. Basically it was our fault. Food was fine but steer clear
Placed order through Menulog then rang after expected delivery time to be told they can’t deliver to my area
Delivery.
Blown out delivery time. Menulog tells you its only a short wait. We ordered at 6: 50 pm ish got delivered at 9: 45 pm, but we were told at the time of ordering it would be delivered aroumd 8: 15-8: 30 pm. (Note for shop management, if you are that busy why dont you turn off the Menulog phone thingy, instead of just ignoring the quoted times and cooking the food when you feel like it). If you cant deliver at the time of ordering, or can see times blowing out, let the client know. Thats good/simple business ethics.
Food.
Less than sub-par. Was it disgusting, no it was close, was it disappointing, yes it was. Chips were dry, potato cakes were pumped out of a machine at a rate of 100 per minute and soggie, calamari rings had the tase and texture of a primary school girls hair scrunchy. I have managed to drain some extra oil from the fish and plan to use that in my lawnmower this weekend. The only highlight was the steamed dimsims.
I know it is only a fish & chip shop that does other things and it is not gourmet cuisine, but I would have preferred to spend my money and eating frozen fish fingers & chips cooked from the oven or a dirty servo pie.
Maybe the food wasn't that bad, but when you pay for something and expect the parties to make good on a basic contract, and they just ignore delivery times quoted, that will leave a bad taste in your mouth before you start eating.
Note for shop management, in this time where the world is super connected and even more competitive for the consumers $$$, a simple message keeping the client in the loop with updates on the order would go a long way with customer relations.
1 star.
3 times we have been immensely let down by this restaurant - being such a hard time for restaurants ATM we thought we would try and support local.but yet again let down by massive delays in delivery times and very poor and rude customer service. NEVER AGAIN!
UNFORTUNATELY you can't give '0' stars. Ordered at 6: 15pm from their fish & chips menu (our usual, 15+ years customers order) and was told delivery 'about 7: 00pm'. So at 7: 45pm rang and was told 'it's being cooked now'. 8: 25pm rang and asked and was told 'we're really busy, we'll send it soon and include a free gelati'. Cancelled order. Never again and it's a shame because it used to be a nice meal - the last couple weren't and this has iced the cake. And be warned - the cost will be more than in the printed home delivery menu - owner said he'd had to put the prices up - I asked for a new one and was told 'I printed 10,000 and I'm not wasting them'. ACCC would probably be interested in this! Finally, in writing this review I see they've moved from Mt Eliza to Frankston South - FORTUNATELY THERE ARE BETTER OPTIONS IN MT ELIZA.
Utter joke. I placed an order on menulog and was told I would have my order in just over an hour. Due to no communication I called at 7: 15 to ask if my order was on its way. I was told it would be another 45 minutes due to being busy which I can understand being good Friday. So an hour later I call back to see if it had been sent because menulog app told me my food had been delivered (which it hadnt). I was informed by the staff member my order had NOT EVEN BEEN STARTED. I don't know what had gone so wrong tonight but I spent a bit of money on this order for me to be stuffed around, with no communication from the store to inform me of any delays, a simple phone call telling me my order was held up would have been more than fine. But to ignore a customer completely and not inform them is a joke.
I understand it can get busy after being in hospitality for most of my life but you need to communicate with your customers a lot better. Good chance I will NEVER order from here again.
I just called to change my order I made through Menulog (which they’d already put in the oven - so fast!) and the lovely man on the phone offered us a free upgrade to get an an extra medium garlic (and pay for a small). Cheers Canadian Bay! Serving the late night hungry mount elizans
We heard Canadian Bay pizza Fish and Chips, we drive all the way from Doncaster Me and my husband finised a big tray of Pizza, beautiful large Fettuccine with Avocado cream sauce we will Come back again. Thank you Canadian Bay Pizza
A truly unforgettable takeaway experience.
If you’re looking for a dinner that is full of surprises then you can’t go past this place!
Ordered online and received an SMS stating delivery would be 45 minutes. Called the shop after 75 minutes and was told it must be on the way because the order didn’t appear to be in the shop, so I should call back in 10 minutes if it didn’t arrive.
It didn’t, so I did, and was informed that they had started making it. At least I could be sure it would be fresh.
2 hours after ordering my meal it finally arrived, and I was relieved to find out that the grilled fish I had ordered (and paid extra for) had in fact been fried. It was so thoughtful to anticipate that I would want the extra batter given I was extra hungry after the wait. Calamari may well have been in the fryer for the entire time I was waiting, as I did a blind taste test with a rubber band and couldn’t pick it.
Unusual! Surprising! Unforgettable! These are all words I would use to describe this terrible experience.
1 star, solely for the delivery guy being apologetic.
Terrible experience. We placed our order over the phone and were told our pizzas would be ready in 20 minutes. We arrived on time but then had to wait another 40 minutes before our pizzas were ready. The rude staff could not have cared less when we complained about how long it was taking. Even if this place served great pizzas (which they certainly do not), we'd never go back there again.
This is the best pizza I have ever tasted, I went and ordered pizzas and the owner told me it will be ready in 15 minutes. I saw that they were very busy and didn't think my food would be ready in 15 minutes but as the owner said my pizzas were ready on time. The customer service was the best I've seen and the food was absolutely amazing it was definitely worth the wait. I could not point out one negative thing about this pizza shop and they will be seeing my face from now on.
There are so many things to like about the new owner, Since he has taken over. The orders being placed are spot on, Their deliveries are quicker, And the new menu has more Variety. And most importantly for me the pizza, fish and Chips are tastier.
The food and service at this establishment is simply exquisite and amazing would recommend it to everyone around me. I am a regular customer and I have been going here for some time now, the new owner is outstanding and so much better than the last.
Fish and fried food was soggy probably needed to be cooked longer or in hotter oil, and asked 4 times for chicken salt, on part of the order, all was same pack with regular salt after being assured (on phone and in shop) it would be separated.
Such a shame what’s happened to this place the new owners have no idea what they’re doing and have no customer service skills
The food was very YUMMY and the service was great and the new owner is much better than the last one. YUMMY!
Very Average, food quality has reduced and prices increased. Disappointed.
Do not read the recent reviews! You will notice there are multiple reviews of 5 stars from people under the same surname and more than one review from people under identical names. Pathetic and un-honest.
A real shame considering this place has turned from a quality fast food joint to a generic fast food shop that has an aroma of nightclub with a mix of fairy lights.
As this is an "Honest" review, I understand this business is under new management so I would assume these issues will be sorted over time. But until then I will eat from the competition.
Mike
I have been going to Canadian Bay for over 7 years and i felt that a change was needed, i was so delighted when i went there on Friday to see that it was under new management. The Customer Service was excellent, and the food even better, for me it's the best pizza place in Mount Eliza.
