Geelong Camera House has a good range of products and the staff that I have talked to are friendly. That said, I would recommend against getting film developed there. I needed a roll developed for a client and was told that there would be a two week turnaround to get my scans. I reluctantly agreed (there are no longer any other film labs in Geelong) and passed the ETA on to my client.

I checked in after two weeks had passed to find out that their processing machine had been out of action for a few days and the issue would not be fixed for another 3 weeks or so, although they mentioned that it could be longer as they had not yet contacted the technician. They explained that there was a chemical imbalance in their developer and they only found out after it started tinting their customers photos yellow (which makes it sound like they don't use control strips?). I'm thankful that it wasn't my roll they found out on, however I would have greatly appreciated some communication about the delay so that I could have sought an alternative earlier - they had my contact details.

I felt completely high and dry - over two weeks down and no closer to getting my clients photos back to them. The guy who served me was quick to give me a refund and helpfully recommended some Melbourne labs, one of which (Ikigai) did a fantastic job and had my scans back within a couple of days.

As a camera retail store first and foremost, film developing is only a peripheral service and it feels as such. I have not seen the level of care or professionalism that I would personally look for in a film lab and wouldn't be trusting them with any rolls until I saw a change.

I’m sure going to camera house is fine if you’re looking to buy a camera but DO NOT get photos developed here, especially film photos. Went there a few weeks ago and they told me AFTER I had paid that the wait time for my film photos would be two weeks. Took them two weeks to get them developed and email them to me on Dropbox, not even on a CD or physical copies. I’ve also noticed they always leave out the last 3 photos of my film rolls and tell me it’s because ‘it’s due to the fact that the missing photos were either too dark or too over exposed to develop’. Nope. It’s always been the last 3 photos of every roll I’ve taken in, which can’t be a coincidence. Seemed like they’re using a scanner from the Middle Ages. You’re better off going to analogue academy if you want film developed, much better and much faster service.

I had a problem with the focus on my camera, the three staff all contributed to solving the problem but it was Cassidy, who after working for an hour eventually solved the issue. Incredible customer service by Col! His expertise was amazing and his ability to put his knowledge into layman's terms for us was even better. His enthusiasm for speaking about photography and all things cameras, and the professional way with which he spoke, meant that we will definitely buy our camera through him and all our future camera equipment.

The manager Trevor was very helpful and informative on the Canon macro lens I was enquiring about. I can definitely recommend them for their knowledge and service.

Buyers beware. This guy will give false information about products so you will have to buy a more expensive product.
Asked about an extension arm, his suggestion was to buy a completely new tripod for over $600 as the extensions are not universal. Called 3 other shops and they quoted $100 for the same arm and confirmed it was universal.

My favorite store! Trevor is so patient and caring, I couldn't make up my mind and choose which camera I should buy, but he was so honest and he gave all his time to explain the pros and cons of the cameras.

Very Helpful Staff and not to expensive. I had prints done if old photos and am very happy with them.

Bought a Panasonic Lumix from Jess who was amazingly helpful and professional. I was about to leave for South Africa and she put the camera together and advised of extras that were reasonable that I may need for a dusty remote region. It was above and beyond so I was very impressed. Also with the staff that ever so patiently listened twice in one day to my novice concerns about that "humming noise". I will go nowhere else - fantastic prices and great staff

I recently purchased a camera from this store. The staff were beyond helpful. I am passionate about photography, but new to DSLR. The staff not only helped me purchase a camera with lenses that I love, they also offered a course.
Trevor who taught the course is a brilliant presenter and teacher. It was a short, two night course, which I finished feeling more confident than I imagined and incredibly inspired.

If I could give ten stars I would!

Needed a small distinct part, they helped me out with some handy and I was on my way. Super good service, will be back.

3. When my husband pointed out the camera was over $300 dearer than Harvey Norman the assistant complained "There is no need to be so rude to me".
4. Would like to give zero stars.

Much better than expected for a franchise. Very helpful sales person, lucky to pick up something good at a pretty serious markdown, so overall pretty happy. Would certainly return.
