Camberwell Antique Centre reviews
9Lovely antique centre, well worth visiting, especially after the Camberwell markets (must do in Melbourne!)
Quality pieces, well laid out store. Owners were very helpful when asked for assistance or in answering questions. If I lived in Melbourne this would be one of my regular stops for antiques!
One of my favorite suburban antique Stores with a varied number of stalls featuring rare curios, objects of art, collectables and furniture. Well worth the visit!
This is quite a big store! This is just the front room and the back of the store has 2 floors! You can find lots of antiques everywhere from different eras!
Great place to find those Art Deco or fifties pieces. Can be expensive but can be reasonable as well. The owners / shop assistants are very helpful and can advise where to find what you want. There are mini shops in the shop where collectors are selling their items so, although rare, you may get a bargain.
Great for a little wander around looking at antiques, all kinds of stalls so different types of old wares to look over. Dress warm!
Great variety of house hold antique furniture and smaller items. Very knowledgeable and helpful operators of the business
I first came to the Camberwell Antique Centre when I was looking for some secondhand furniture to fill out my apartment, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the selection. The store is a split level consisting of three distinct floors, one above, and the ground floor split into two levels. There's something interesting in every corner of this place, and while you're more likely to find some secondhand stuff that is a little more recent, you can still find some older curios that are very, very cool.
I began my antiquing journey here with a copy of Introduction to the Acute Abdomen, a medical text published in the early 1900s which has since been discontinued. Since then, I've travelled interstate and overseas, looking for interesting books, articles, and paraphernalia from a profession that evolves so quickly it just as easily forgets the rich and storied past it left behind.
For all of that, I can still come here, look around the shelves, and remember the time I picked up my first dog-eared prize and felt excitement at it.
You never forget it!
