Calle Bakery reviews
22I tried the almond croissant and the honey one. I read alot of reviews about them but unfortunately they weren’t as good. They are over hyped and i’m being generous with the 2 stars. Not worth the visit.
Calle bakery has exquisite french pastries and great coffee. Always a line up on a weekend ahhh! Very limited table seating outside but if it's a nice day, you can sit in the the park across the road and enjoy that flakey, buttery goodness!
Lovely little cafe serving a large variety of pastries. The service staff were super friendly and welcoming despite how busy it was. Especially recommend the blueberry tart (and also the various croissants of course).
A tip for those looking for the croissant wheels: they're only available on the weekends!
Fine bakery at its best.
Crispy and tasty with a smile and sympathy.
Coffee is amazing to round the experience.
Needed nothing else to fuel a good time with my daughter.
Bakery was recommended by someone as a must visit. I tried Choc Hazelnut Croissant
(I am a vegetarian so didn't try others and had already tried 'Lune' the same day)
It was just wow, filling was superb and it just melted in my mouth. Every bite was yummylicious. I visited in the afternoon and I believe by the time other options were sold out. Would love to try next time.
One of the best croissant I have had in Melbourne.
From a French guy (from Brittany which means I know my butter), who has had hundreds of croissants in his life and work in a popular bakery in Melbourne!
We had their famous Croissant Wheel. Definitely pretty cute and instagrammable but it doesn't quite live up to its taste, flavour and hype. It isn't as flakey or buttery as Agathe or Lune for the same price.
They seem to release new flavours every month and we had their hojicha and lotus biscuit flavoured ones.
Beautiful place. Their croissant wheels are amazing. They release new flavours every month. Very yummy and tasty treats.
Despite the hype on instagram / social media, we found the pastry to be fairly average to be honest and nothing special, the flavour composition wasn’t amazing. Tough industry to be in these days, bakeries spring up everywhere now so hard to distinguish one from the rest.
Based on our experience, we wouldn’t go back
Pretty disappointed. Burrata had no cheese. Other options boring. Baguettes not authentic and overcooked. Staff didn’t know the product. Previous experience better but won’t rush back other better bakeries.
This is a lovely place for a coffee and croissant! No table service, so you have to order inside and seat yourself. Usually quite busy Saturdays, so expect to wait in line.
Love ️ everything about this place works - service, food, ambiance, menu selection. It’s a magic place for a perfect afternoon tea, lunch, brunch.
Well worth the hype! I had the yuzu lemon wheel croissant and it was perfect, not overpowering and not too sweet. Coffee was great. Friendly and welcoming service too!
Best ham and cheese croissant I've had in Melbourne.amazing, fresh and crispy croissants. Good coffee. The monthly specials are a bit hit and miss though.
Yummy fresh and unique croissants in corner of lovely Carlton. The portions are big. My favorite are wheel croissants and ice cream croissants but they seemed over baked. Highly recommend this to everyone for dine in and instagram experience. Even I tried not to take the pic properly but the croissants still look so beautiful with the decor.
One of the best croissants ive ever had!
Im very passionate about my croissants as its my favourite breakfast.
This place has the freshest and most unique croissants. Every month they come up with new flavours and it literally melts in your mouth with that extra crisp at the end. I drove 50 mins to get it thats how good it is!
I took a flight from Sydney to Melbourne. Just to try this bakery. And I’m glad I wasn’t disappointed. This place is even better than lune. The croissant was crispy flaky, just perfect, and the feeling was amazing flavourful and fresh. I got
Callè bakery’s croissant wheel is the best
Spiral of crunchy pastries filled with oozy filling of mango and passionfruit
Very tempted to give this place fewer stars because I hate how popular Melbourne bakeries become impossible to visit once they become the next big thing. But quality demands recognition. That almond croissant was utterly breathtaking, possibly the best I've ever eaten, and I have strong opinions on how to make a good almond croissant. The other items were almost as good, which is still a very high bar. There was a lot of things I didn't get but would have were I a ginormous beast of unquenchable hunger. Maybe next time.
Super friendly service, coffee was delicious.
We ordered the current chocolate orange and pandan croissant wheels, a choc hazelnut croissant, and a banoffee croissant but were missing one of the slices we paid for (forgot the name), though very busy so can understand things get missed.
Everything was delicious, in love with the chocolate orange wheel!
