Caldermeade Farm & Cafe reviews
57 Don't go unless you book not many tables in side, poorly managed was told that all full then someone sat at table 13 without booking as I asked did he have a booking he said no.
Better system needs to be in place.
Had a booking for table at 1pm and didn't care she needs to know how to do better
Nice stop during our road trip to stretch out our legs and for kids to play with the animals.
The cafe food was okay. Seating was slightly uncomfortable and it was super humid inside. They kept delivering our food to the wrong table, and delivered other people’s food to us. This was due to some miscommunication that took a while to fix.
We did buy some milk and yogurt to take home with us. Milk is really creamy and a good price too. I now sometimes pop by to buy milk if I happen to drive by.
Thevscones are the best but customer service low staff has no smile i stood there for 5 minutes the young man was busy with the cashier box
Yummy caramel slice, nice coffee. Nice to see the animals and a lovely place to stop off.
Stop here instead of the servo for a coffee
Great experience for my toddler viewing the cows being milked. We had lunch and ice cream here. The petting zoo was not as accessible as I imagined as the animals were kept in their fenced up areas.
Recently renovated the dinning area is much larger but also very loud. Farm walk around is great and doesn't cost a thing.
I prefer the old place. It was warmer and more homely. This newly renovated one is too slick and modern. The menu is not as great as before. And the stuff up my table reservation.
Not having been here for the last 4 years, we pulled in this morning for breakfast at 11.02 am. Breakfast was off at 11.00? (since when?). They used to do all day brekkie. Obviously new management, staff very unfriendly, burger was ok, chips plentiful (not always a good idea), tomato relish appears to be watered down, coffee lukewarm. Wouldn't stop again. Cannot recommend.
Placed a big order of food and waited for more than 30mins for our coffees. When coffees came they were cold. They brought out the rest bit by bit. Waited for more than 45 mins for our hot food. The service is horrible and super slow. I've been here twice and will never come back again. Unfortunately I had to rate it with a star otherwise u don't deserve a star. I'm very disappointed with the service. Kitchen staffs are un organized and lost. Never again would come back here. I brought 7 ppl today but it was a bad idea and wrong place to come.
Really nice soup and the steak pie is soooo delicious, would 100% recommend the home made pie. Don't forget the milk shakes either! Really did not disappoint, good reviews on this listing rings true
Highly recommend this place, the cafe is set back from the road, with some cute baby animals to pet and view, a playground with climbing equipment, benches and tables around it.there is the mailing shed at the back, near the large carpark. The food is fresh and tasty, service is counter service rather than table service, but staff were friendly and helpful. We came here with 1 year old toddler who had a ball, and a dog, who was very welcome.
Booked on mother's day for a two hour session, and took nearly an hour and a half before we got our food, then got asked to leave when I hadn't even finished eating (because we had only just got our food) and the session was over. I also asked for two high chairs when we called to book, and when we arrived there were two, but they took one before we sat down, and gave it to someone else. When I said to the guy that we did need two he just said "OK" and walked off. Fifteen or so minutes later I asked a girl for the second high chair and she very abruptly said "yes, I know! " and again walked off. Was so incredibly rude, it took about another ten minutes to get it. The food was not terrible but nothing to brag about. All in all had a very poor experience and won't return mostly due to being treated so rude by the staff.
Oh and when we were asked to leave and I hadn't finished eating, I said this but the waitress basically just said too bad I have to leave, it's mothers day and they are busy, as if that's a good excuse for such a terrible experience.
There were five other adults with me and none of us will return.
Can't tell you much this trip as it was an outdoor motorcycle event, not in the cafe itself. But I'll go back n will give you a full report then. Beautiful property with lots of lovely animals tho.
It's good place to see how dairy farm works.its for people who had different practice like india where man power is used.its one time visit place where 30min time can be spent. It does have different breads of animals like chicken, goat etc.
Great for young children and adult who's interested in farm related activities Delicious food that were all made in farm, even the ketchup is made from scratch.
We both had a lovely meal. A great place to take the kids, the weather wasn't the best, lots of space.
Good for families with opportunities to see cows and goats up close as well as play equipment. Food and coffee were good but not great. Service was above average. Plenty of parking if you have a caravan. Plenty of flies as well.
Good outing for kids. Get to see how cows are milked, plus pat the young calves. Play area and swings add to the fun.
Food itself is quite good but very overpriced for a cafe setting. $8 for a average sized milkshake is unheard of and quite honestly ive had better for half that price.
The best pies. Very friendly staff. We love stopping at Caldermeade on the way to Inverloch. Great place to bring kids. 5 +
