4We had a lovely lunch for Valentine’s Day and selected freely from the extensive menu. We can highly recommend the slow-cooked beef ragout with ricotta gnocchi. The gnocchi was light and complemented the rich stew perfectly. The Spanish meatballs were also full of flavour and were served with vegetables perfectly cooked, grown in the veggie patch. The owner/waiter Doug was friendly and efficient. He gave us a quick tour of the greenhouse event space after lunch. The garden features a magnificent chestnut tree whose nuts feature in the menu also. We recommend this restaurant for a special occasion lunch or dinner, but you must book first as it is only open through reservations.
Quiet and peaceful with an excellent varied menu with vegetarian and some gluten free options.
We had a great time having dinner and staying the night at Cafe Escargot. We even saw a koala climbing up the tree at night. We are grateful for being well looked after by the friendly owners. A five stars experience!
