I went to get a kayak and met some great people here.
I am new to water sports and Andrew really takes care of you. Never felt pressured to buy at any stage and he doesn't try to sell you something that might not work for you as well as make other suggestions to help you enjoy it.
I actually didn't get anything at first but came back as I'd rather buy from businesses like this who treat well and want you to enjoy what you get. Though a bit of a drive for me definitely will be back.

Outstanding customer service. They kept us up to date on when the kayak would arrive for pickup. We are new to paddling so needed paddle, stands, PFD and help onto the car with the new skimmer116. The staff couldn't have been more helpful in every aspect from helping set up the paddle and PFD to getting the kayak safely onto the car.

Heaps of knowledge to share, good range of kayaks, helped me get it in the car, and gave me a great price! They organise social paddles too, where you can try different pieces of equipment. Highly recommend!

I wanted another sea kayak to replace a bulky and heavy one I bought and sold some years ago. Along with other dealers I visited Andrew at Melbourne Kayaks. After looking at a couple of sea kayaks and asking about the type of paddling I’d like to do, Andrew realised that I wanted to challenge and extend myself a bit. To this end, he made an ‘out of left field’ suggestion of the Stellar S18S (18’/5.5m) hybrid surf ski/sea kayak. This led to sourcing the only S18S in the country from Sydney Kayaks in very quick time, followed by a test paddle on a nearby lake with Andrew looking on. I think Andrew was almost as excited as I was. I wanted to observe Andrew’s technique and he obliged. But he was in no hurry to ‘seal the deal’. As he said a number of times, regarding the process of ensuring the S18S was suitable for me, ‘We want to get things right’. I was very happy with that approach. After both of us were happy, he sold me the kayak, paddle and accessories at an amazing price. Last Sunday (17 Feb 2019) over 20 paddlers met at Flinders for various paddling activities (organised by Andrew), including for me, tuition on (open) cockpit re-entry, given Andrew, of course. Am I impressed with Andrew and Melbourne Kayaks? Too right.
