BWS Geelong West (Pakington Strand)

Utterly disgusting. I walked a substantial distance to get here to be told that my id was ‘fake. ’ Understandably, a business needs to protect its legal position, however, I posed my p1 license, my learners permit, and my University student card and none of these were permitted. Still currently fathoming the motive of denial, was it stereotyping because of the way I appeared? I’ve been to dozens of shops to attain alcohol and never have I ever been rendered mute to such extent. That’s abhorrent and an awful reflection on this store, to any 19 year old readings this, perhaps bring your birth certificate and all the most powerful identification documents with you, especially if you have gone out of your way to walk here, and have taken time out of your day. Very frustrating, and I don’t think it needs to be rocket science to prove who I am, especially by someone that has a station of life to work selling alcohol. I’m now going to flourish at your rival business, hashtag thanks Dan Murphy for not stereotyping and denying all my points of ID. Terrible service, I will never darken the door again.

The person who claimed to be the manager harassed me at checkout several days ago. I called up to complain and when I confronted him about it I was passed to another employee who told me the issue would be addressed. I came back today and he refused to even look at me. I talked to the other employee who told me I must have misheard what he said to me. I am furious and disgusted at this conduct.

Good selection of wines, beers and spirits. They always have plenty of ice. Good sized walk in beer fridge. Very nice and courteous staff.

On the larger side for a BWS and always has a good mix of classic bottle shop fare as well as interesting craft beer, local wines and unusual gins; the staff are always friendly and knowledgeable

They have exactly the range and selection you would expect from a chain store with prices to match.

There are regular specials on various wine, beer and spirits.

As it's adjacent to the supermarket you can take your shopping trolley directly into the bottle shop.

Convenient when using supermarket but a five minute walk to Dan Murphy's will save you money on most purchases.
