Burwood Cafe and Indian takeaway reviews
45 Waste of time! Waste of money!
Poor quality with their chutney and sambar being stale!
Frankie was disgusting with loose watery filllng.
Couldn’t even finish the meal!
They took half an hour to serve to meals when the place was empty!
Ok honestly. This used to be my local. Then I moved to Ivanhoe and they still deliver. Keep a look out for Goat Biryani specials. They are life changing.
I went here waiting for a friend who was running late up the road. The guy at the counter was very friendly. The Samosas and chai were great. Highly recommend!
I got coffee from the place. It was above standard than most other places. It has a milky texture and flavour which adds on to the distinct flavour the coffee had to offer. I highly recommend the coffee on the go.
Affordable good qualifty food, with wide selection in the menu. The biryani was not upto the mark. The chilli chicken Frankie was amazing. Excellent atmosphere and staff.
The food here so really good! Me and my son went for dinner. We had masala and chilli chicken dosa. They were fresh and crispy and the chutneys really complemented the dosa. Would recommend highly
This is a great place! Best Kottu I’ve had. Lovely char. I wouldn’t get the dosa to take away again as even a quick drive home made it soggy but that was more my fault than theirs! I’ll just have it in the cafe next time! It’s obvious to see that the food is made with love. We will be back.
I have tasted Biryani and Chicken Kothu both are delicious and in good quantity. Highly recommended.
Amazing service and equally incredible food. Good value too! Only downside is that the lighting in the restaurant is pretty dim with the purple lights. Highly recommended for a cheap eat nevertheless.
Idli and chutney was very good. After being here in Melbourne for long time first time i tasted such a soft idlis and fresh n tasty chutneys.
It’s too bad experience after long wait we get UTtapam but it’s not taste good even staff too busy in main while they didn’t offer water as well never come back
Being new to this place, I was advised by my son to visit this cafe, being in vicinity to his college. I tried Kothu parantha and it was sumptuous meal for a family of 3, I was barely able to finish one third. Loved it, chicken pieces were fresh and parontha was crunchy…. Had an awesome time at cafe.
Got a moment to interact with owner, remarkable sense of humour….
Planning to visit again before I head back to India.
I have strong recommendation for Idli, Dosa and mutton curry by my son and his friends.
I had ordered Panner tikka wrap and it’s just crush bhurji inside with no salads or anything. When I called up restaurant, chef telling me this is how they make Paneer tikka wrap? Mate do you even know the difference between paneer tikka and paneer bhurji! If it’s so, just change atleast on online food delivery platform.
It’s bad in test and didn’t get what I ordered.
We just went for just casual dine with friends service is very poor and food quality is very poor we ordered entrees food was off and mains are disgusting then ordered tea for three people he bring one then he realised we are three peoples never recommended just waste of money.
I ordered Masala Dosa yesterday. It was good. But the quantity of sambar given is much less. I asked for extra Sambar. I was given sambar (probably 100 cc) in a small plastic container. I was charged an extra $ two dollars. Though the amount is insignificant, if this restaurant doesn't provide a sufficient quantity of sambar with dosa, (while every other Indian Restaurant provides a good amount of sambar), there is no incentive for me to visit this restaurant again. Good Luck!
Got delivery through Door Dash and was very impressed. The Bombay sandwich was just amazing. I look forward to trying few more things out from their menu.

Got delivery through Door Dash and was very impressed. Absolutely incredible food. The chaat was the most delicious thing I've ever tasted. Just about everything on the menu is new to me, so I look forward to working my way through and trying everything out.
Amazing food, it's a must try place. We had dosa, idli, vada pao, pani poori, gulab jamun and chai. Everything was good. Do speak to Aunty if she's free. She's lovely to speak to and will accommodate and advise if you are not sure what to have.
Keep doing the great job.
If you ever miss Mumbai food, you’ve to come to this place. First of all their team is very friendly and helpful. Not just that, but the food is quite amazing too! We’ve ordered multiple times but we’ve never been disappointed. The sandwiches are quite the best part!
Kudos guys, keep doing the great work!
We ordered pani puri for takeaway! Comes with no tamarind sauce and ordered spicy mixture but got normal. The pani puri drink was also at room temperature not chilled and tastes like just normal.
