Burnley Golf Course reviews
39Absolutely shocking course! Was a sunny day, but it was like playing in a swamp! Greens were good, but the fairways utterly unplayable! Will never go back, quite likely the soggiest course in Melbourne. Forget it!
Great inner city 9 hole golf course with a fully decked out pro shop and friendly staff. I’ll be back.
Played 23/01/23 pro shop really helpful, fitted me with balls, hire clubs and trolley, fitted in 18 holes in 3 hours playing solo.
Course in good condition and the greens were fast and true. Thank you for a great round.
Horrendous experience. Course was ripped to shreds, staff were rude, and the amount of people on the course made for not only a slow, boring and time consuming round of golf, but also dangerous with so many people on course, $$$ more important than overall experience clearly.
Never again. Along with Bundoora golf course, while I’m at it.
Not a bad course but sad to see they've removed student concessions and also upped the price of the green fee's. $25 to play a 9 hole course that has artificial tee boxes is hard to justify. Second time I've been here and sadly the last time, just too expensive.
Great little short course tucked away next to the freeway. Roughs are well maintained and even though it's only 9 holes there's still enough variety to keep it interesting. Some of the holes are undergoing maintenence so shortens the course even more, and tree cover isn't enough to keep out the noise of trains on some holes. Also fairly flat so fairways are simply but greens can be challenging with bunkers. Also has putting green and practice chipping area plus nets, and a great weekly membership model keeps me coming back
Great course, well maintained.
Obnoxious staff especially the larger guy in saturdays. First time on course, nothing was conveyed to us checking in about the tee box rules.
The man berated us, we all considered joining until that issue arrised.
9 holes, 1868m, 4 x par 3's, 5 par 4's. Good greens and practice facilities. Fairways can be wet after rain. No driving range. Friendly staff, good coffee, and a an excellent place to spend time with friends. It may not be Sanctuary Cove or St Andrews but it IS still a great little course. Try it out.
Great little course, short but still a challenge. Greens are deceptive. Shop staff are fantastic. Recommended for beginners.
I played 18 today and l loved it! For short hitters like me, this is a great course. Really well kept and challenging greens. The staff at the shop are very, very friendly. I will be back for sure. ️️
It's a nice little council run club in a popular location. The staff are somewhat friendly (I imagine they have to deal with all sorts here) and the course in reasonable condition and relatively short. They're currently restoring some of the tees and fairways so it's playing even shorter than usual. If you're used to private courses you may be disappointed, but if you set your expectations accordingly it's not a bad spot for a bit of fun.
Great course for a quick hit. Unfortunately no par 5s across their 9 holes which is slightly disappointing. Besides this, great service and a fantastic playing surface which is always maintained.
Want a quick round of golf? This is the place. The fairways are well maintained, its a short course and the some holes are short, but its real golf and some of the smaller greens are a challenge to hit. Good parking and easy style, the pro shop has limited goods for sale, some snacks. Cheap.
So many holes currently have issues with maintenance etc and you are still paying quite a high rate
Just great to be back playing golf again. Well done Burnley for maintaining this short course through these tough times.
Great golf course to spend an afternoon. Great staff as well. Very easy to get to as it is right in the inner suburbs and close to the station.
Great course with very friendly staff. Can get waterlogged if the rain is heavy but that keeps the grass green!
This 9 hole, par 32 course is great value and a nice place for a casual round of golf. The fairways and greens are in quite good knick.
We were thrilled Burnley was open yesterday when it seems so many courses are closing during these difficult circumstances. What better way to get some exercise AND social distance. The pro shop is closed but the transaction is completed through a window so no contact with the attendant occurs. On the greens, the depth of the hole has been raised so there is no need to touch the flag/pin to retrieve your ball. How clever! The course is in the best condition we've ever seen it. Green fairways and putting greens! While this course isn't much of a challenge it is a great spot for 9 holes during troubling times. Thanks for remaining open!
Great little course.
Staff and members very friendly and welcoming.
Thank you to Rachel and Jan for inviting us to join them for 9 holes, enjoyed your company.
Easy access by train.
Would recommend!
