Burnley Bouldering Wall reviews
20I only went once, however unfortunately someone put graffiti all over it and messed up with the colours. Wouldn't mind trying again once the graffiti is cleaned off. Alright otherwise.
Run by the Victorian Climbing Club, the grass roots Burnley Bouldering Walls is a perfect place to learn and practice bouldering with some pretty cool dudes. Being directly under CityLink / Monash or South Eastern Freeway, it's a great example of integration into and utilisation of public space.
There are three bouldering walls. Wall 1 has beginner and intermediate routes, the bit more challenging wall 2 with its 30° overhang, is for intermediate to advanced routes, and Wall 3 having a 45° overhang, is for the more difficult/advanced routes. Being under the freeway means that it can be used under all weather conditions.
Really nice public bouldering wall! There are 2-3 routes that are beginners friendly, and people here are very happy to lend a helping hand when in need. Will definitely visit again!
Great place to climb for free in a relaxed atmosphere. Doesn’t get updated too often but it has many different leveled problems so you won’t get bored.
Really cool space. Had no clue it existed until I stumbled upon it by accident. Three walls, of increasing difficulty. It’s under the freeway so be mindful of that, and the bike path is right there, so lots of spectators to cheer you on.
Fantastic idea! I wish more councils in Melbourne used their open space like this. We've just recently started trying bouldering and have been to a few different venues. The bouldering wall is great given its freely available to the public!
Nice hidden gem! Amazing to climb outdoors but still close to the city.the river makes the atmosphere that much better.
Good for training, fun and a challenge
Great place to do some bouldering has 3 walls and great variety of difficulties, and best of all its free too! Bring your climbing shoes if you got em, or not for a extra challenge xD
Cool place for rock climbing enthusiasts. 24/7 free rock climbing and bouldering walls. Not exposed to sun and rain but still outdoor. A great scenery by the Yarra river.
Cool place. I suggest bringing a crash pad if you want to climb seriously because the mats are very thin.
Free bouldering run by people in the community. Great place to meet people from around the world as well as the locals. One of my favorite parts of living in Melbourne is biking along the Yarra river on a nice day and getting to spend time climbing outside here at Burnley Bouldering Wall.
A great place, more cities should have free 24/7 bouldering walls.
Holds are quite smooth from use but that will only make you a better climber
Pretty difficult even when tackling the beginner black path. If I was into rock climbing I'd be stoked. A nice surprise and a fair bit of equipment available for use. A break on your bike ride
Take a seat and enjoy the atmosphere or work up a sweat and some lactic acid.
A pit stop on the Main Yarra Trail - three bouldering walls with a variety of routes set and a small crash pad. Holds are smooth - BYO chalk and shoes.
Squeaky dip & pull up station and exercise bench available for use.
Furniture is functional, underpass chic - pallets, crates, aluminium and plastic.
Fantastic free outdoor bouldering wall. There's 3 different walls for different levels. There's always a few people here whenever I come down and they're always so friendly. Great facility to have available.
Such a wonderful place to spend a day. Year round, this place is awesome. Learn to climb, enhance your skills, challenge yourself.there’s a lot to be had on these three walls. There is even a couch to relax on.
Not for the faint of heart and will make for a good challenge for sure. All in all, good clean fun, can’t beat free and open laaaate!
I love this place free climbing the climbs are pretty hard and technical but there's something there for everyone
Conveniently located on the Capital City Trail, these walls are available for your bouldering pleasures 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Lit up at night and offering a dry stop should it be raining whilst you're out for a ride, I commend this spot to you.
