First time to entry this store and want to look the glasses frame I like, I stood there and waited for the help for a while and no one came to serve me. Instead, they served the customers who came after me.
I left the store and bought a pair of glasses from other retailer.

Very disappointed the lady behind the counter didnt want to serve me. I said I would like to buy these please, her reply was no you cannot just buy them you have to have an eye test and have the lenses put in. I was disgusted at the way she spoke to me so i went elsewhere and bought them. Very disappointing you cannot get good help anymore.

Visited during lockdown, staff refused me entry saying my damaged glasses was not an emergency. Manager Haydon was reluctant to open the door and offer assistance.
Under sufferance he agreed to send my glasses for appraisal.
His off handed attitude was noted. Insinuated that I shouldn’t have been at the shop, although I rang beforehand to check if the shop was open.
My very expensive transition lenses were crazed and could not be used. I have told Haydon that they were slowly deteriorating over 18 months before complete crazing.
I was again brushed off, saying that I didn’t report initially so now out of warranty.
My family will now not use Bupa Chadstone and use an Independent optometrist where we will get
real customer service

Originally review included some issues with original script, and problem with lens that had imperfection (3*)

Update: They’ve since been very helpful and professional in resolving the issues, and I’m convinced everything will work out well now.

We have two pairs of sunglasses, but they are too wide to wear. Because we are both Bupa insurance members, we decided to go to Bupa optical Chadstone shop today and to see if there is some relevant service. After waiting about 15 mins, a staff (Hay.) help us with great patience, I mean, he adjusted the frames of the two sunglasses and let us try again and again until we were satisfied. After adjustment, he even cleaned both of them carefully. All the services are free of charge. We appreciated that very much!

Terrible! Ordered glasses 7 weeks ago. They took 5 weeks and the prescription was wrong! Glasses unusable. Yesterday they sent an SMS saying glasses were ready and got there today only to be told SMS was an error and glasses will take another week! 40 minutes trip each way for us because bupa has limited optical and stupid bupa insurance won’t give same rebates at our local optimist - Don’t buy health insurance with bupa or use their services!

Ordered 3 pairs of glasses from this store and have been given very small size glass wipe. On asking for standard wipes, we were told it is not free and costs $5.

Can’t even imagine that an optical store fails to provide complimentary regular glass wipe with deliveries. I paid premium price on the glasses and extra $5 for wipe? Not acceptable.

Their optometrists are good and few of their staffs are really good and customer friendly. Hence increased the star rating. Some staffs are horrible - mixed experience in different visits.

My experience here was 4 star before but zero star today so on average 2 star. I brought a pair of glasses early this year which works well, so I decided to get contact lens. After two appts and paid $140 for a 90 pack last week, I went in happily to pick up the lens today.

1. Suddenly I got told that my two eyes have different prescriptions by the same lady who ordered the lens for me last week. Why didn't you call me earlier?

2. I have concerns as the optometrist told me that both my eyes share the same prescription. The only way I can find out is to book another appt.

3. So I asked for appt with the same optometrist. Guess what, the one I saw was casual and does not work there anymore.

4. I tried to explain my concerns but the lady stopped me and said: I didn't hear your conversation with the optometrist so I don't know.

5. I asked for my trial record to compare but got told no record. I did get a call about the record later but I was half way home already.

Being a Bupa member for ten years, i had some good experience there before but today I was totally shocked. The lady who caused the problem made me feel like it's all my fault.

I’m very satisfied with the recent experience of choosing my contact lenses here.

The optometrist Meenal is very nice, patient and professional. She is the one (compares to previous two optometrists in other cities I used to have) who actually helped me successfully learn how to put lenses in and take them out with less fear and with less difficulty.

Thanks to her encouragement and her patient of teaching, I am finally confident on the way of trying contact lenses the third time in my life.:)

I will definitely recommend Meenal in the future to any of my friend who needs to see an optometrist.

I feel like things must have changed a bit on the last year or so. I came here for an emergency checkup and was initially turned away as it was CoB. However when they saw my discomfort, they made an exception and I was served by Meenal. She was very thorough and professional and explained to me what was happening which was very comforting. I walked out really happy with the service and professionalism of the overall experience:)

I took my son to see the optometrist at Bupa Chadstone called Meenal Chhotu for an eye test. I was very impressed by Meenal’s patience, thoroughness and knowledge on short-sightedness. She is an excellent and experienced optometrist. My whole family will go to see Meenal for vision test from now on.

I went here a couple of years back just before they changed their name from Blink Optical to Bupa Optical. Worst experience ever! Don’t go here!
I went in-store and got my eyes tested and everything was fine. I took my glasses home and found it extremely difficult to see with and my eyes were continually tearing. So I decided to take them back to make sure they had given me the right prescription.
The girl at the counter tested it and said it was what the optometrist had prescribed. So I said I wanted to talk to the optometrist. She then proceeded to have an argument with me! She said that I did not believe her and that she was as qualified as a doctor and that she didn’t like how I looked at her! Maybe it is because I had to wear a pair of glasses which I couldn’t see her with!
Eventually I got to see the optometrist again. While he was testing my eyes, the same girl decided to have a yelling match in the store with my father – a retired pensioner who had come with me to the store!
The optometrist changed the script and when I got the updated glasses it was better but still felt too strong for my eyes. I’ve been going to OPSM ever since and just order contact lenses from Bupa Optical online instead so that I don’t have to deal with the horrible staff. If you are thinking of going here, don’t!

I’m with BUPA, but still won’t go here. The service is negligent, and the prices despite the coverage is still higher than going elsewhere. Can’t comment on quality of the glasses because I declined to purchase.

I did an online booking but on arrival for my appointment was told their online booking system isn't working. There was hardly any courtesy or concern about the blunder. I went to SpecSavers and got the job done.

Tried different optical shops in Chadstone shopping centre and some in the city to find a glasses i need. Went to Bupa Chadstone just to try my luck before go to Coles for grocerry shopping. Walked in and lady named Sophie V came to me and offered me help to choose a suitable glassed. After explained the glassed i'm wearing now having some issue that keep me feeling pain near my ear and sometime headache. She just offered to adjust the glassed for me without asking am i customer of Bupa or not.
And i'm keep trying and found one i like and suit my needs. After process through all the details to order the glassed and realised my script is not with me and she is more happy to call the another optical shop the next day because at that time was pass the trading hours.

The next day i brought in the script to the shop which i found the records at home. Passed to another lady who was working on that day and the response i had are similar to responses other customers went through.

After one week, i received a call from Bupa and advised my glasses is ready to pick up. On the day i went to pick up, Sophie was helping me to adjust the new glasses and explained what are the warranties and services if i needed.

What i try to say here, the management should try their best to keep an employee like Sophie and should let other employees learn from Sophie the way how to serve their customers in retail industry.

I visited the store yesterday with intention to get a glasses but was disrespected by two Asian staff. They didn’t allow me to state my problems by disturbed me and was arrogant. This was terrible experience, never come again.

I tried to call a few times today to cancel an upcoming appointment. Your phone rang out each time. Not the first time I have been unable to make direct contact with the store. Take note I am cancelling my appointment on 27/11/2017 at 0930.

Had a prescription glasses there. I have three thing not really satisfied with.

First, I bought my own frame because the frame I like is not selling in the store, however, the lady who served me told me that becasue is not bought from the store so "IF" they break while making my precription glasses they are not responsible for it and would only offer me 50% off with any frames they are selling in store.

Second, I got my prescription glasses today. When I saw it, I was suprise with the thinkness of the lens. The lady who served me on the other day did not metioned how thick the lens will be. But she did mention I need "High Index" because of the prescription (L -5.00, R -5.25) I got. So I assumed this should be thin enough for my frame. It's some part my fault that I did not clarify things here, however, she did not give me any other options about the thinkness of the lens and explain the difference she just give me a quote said that is what I have to pay which I think is no very professional.

Lastly, when I told her whether I can claim my frame I bought online, she did not even ask where and just directly reply you cannot. And told me that you only can claim your frame you bought in store. I went home and did claim online through bupa website and get 1xx back.

Went there to get more benefit than Specsavers. Choice of frames and initial consultation was ok BUT I never got notification that my glasses were ready to be picked up. 2 months later I called the store to find out they were there. Absolutely no follow up on customers that haven't picked up their glasses. How long would it have been if I hadn't called?
