Nice new store with multiple levels, but terrible staff. Only the self check-out was open and the three staff standing there were too busy chatting with each other to help customers that actually needed help. The staff also need to watch their swearing when there are kids around.

3rd trip to sort out the auto refilling dog bowl.

In the isle, looking at my phone and the parts I have picked up to match.

Lovely lady walks up. Bunnings lady, “Can I help you with anything”

I say “thank you but I think this is one of problems I just need to work out myself. (In hindsight being chauvinistic)

She says “show me the photos, I’m sure I can help”

Show photo.
PlumbMum now walks me down the aisle and picks all the random fittings I need.

Thank you PlumbMum!

One of the best bunnings overall for buying hardware and such, excellent accessibility for Doncaster overall as well.

Good for a quick shop when you don’t want to drive to a farther branch. Stocks are not comparable to Nunawading for example. I like having a local shop by the way.

I don't like these multilevel bunnings, they are just not as convenient. Parking was painful as well. But I like bunnings in general.

REVISED REVIEW, JANUARY 2023:
Parking conditions have changed. Read the conditions CAREFULLY!
It is now $18.00 MINIMUM, if you overstay the 2 hours free parking by even a small amount.
An additional approx 10minutes over the 2hours free on a late Sunday afternoon has cost me $18, a REAL shock. Would have been cheaper to go to Nunawading or Box Hill South!
Very pleased though that after calling the store to complain the following day, office staff decided to refund my $18 and it was ready for me to pick up a week later when I visited again.

At last, Doncaster has its own Bunnings! In brief: If you only have a couple of small items, you know it's not going to be busy, and you're NOT towing a trailer etc, and this is the nearest store, this is great. Otherwise, go to any one of the other, standard layout, Bunnings in Eltham, Nunawading, Box Hill, Northland etc. Unfortunately it's like some of the other non standard "weird" 2 storey Bunnings in Richmond, Chadstone etc. If you are familiar with a "standard" Bunnings and are a regular visitor, it doesn't matter which one you go to, the layout is almost always identical, you can grab what you need in and out quickly, easy parking, trailer and Caravan access etc. Doncaster Bunnings has an unusual ramped entrance for cars with an underground, 2.9 metre clearance carpark that is free for 2 hours, then $9 per hour.
The carpark entrance, exit and navigation underground is a nightmare and will be the location for inumerable bingles and scrapes. Loading you car with large items when it's busy will be almost impossible.
Especially the exit is extremely narrow with a sharp left, and again a right at the tradesmans entry/exit, with a raised centre concrete divider that is almost indistinguishable from the road surface as it hasn't been painted.
During busy times traffic snarls down here are a nightmare, and the queues of exiting cars block other vehicles for extended periods and make it almost impossible to load your car or reverse out.
Forget about coming here if you are towing a trailer or caravan and go to Eltham, Northland or Nunawading Bunnings instead.
At quiet times it's not really a problem. Navigating the store internally is more difficult as it's on 2 levels, with lifts and a very long, very slow travelator between levels.
Took me ages to find what I needed with several trips back and forth on the travelator.
Staff were exceptional, extremely helpful and obviously well trained knowing immediately where I had to go on the numerous occasions I had to ask for directions.
Oh! And they do have the famous Aussie tradition of the Bunnings sausage sizzle, supporting various charities!

Like the split levels but trying to pay downstairs is a nightmare. Really badly designed and becomes very congested.

Still getting used to this new shop. Didn't find what I wanted (out of stock). So had to goto Northland.

Got myself an outdoor table from the store.
Best customer assurance.
Thanks Kendall for going the extra mile by helping me measure and getting the box into the car! Amazing!

I have seen customer service decline rapidly since opening this store back around a year ago. Definitely, a very different experience compared to other Bunnings.

Maybe a bit busy and Staff are stretched out, so customer service becomes a victim. Anyhow, it is not a very good experience

First 2 storey Bunnings i have been in. Seems well laid out. Heavy stuff on ground floor and lighter stuff on 2nd floor. 2 x floors of underground parking. Big lifts to get big items to your car. Overall worthwhile visiting. Very popular and very crowded considering it is newly opened. Worth visiting. NOTE PARKING is $18 IF U GO OVER 2HRS. STILL DO NOT GO OVER THE 2HR LIMIT. Go to Eltham or Nunawading as it is free parking.
020223- still the same. Does not have quite the expansive variety of bigger stores but it has most of what u need. Prices are creeping up now.

Confusing! Car parks underneath. Lift up to Service Floor. Racking along the lines of other stores. Staff all newbies, not much help.
Couldn't find for what I was searching.

Best Bunnings store.ample undercover parking, new and clean, great stock levels. The store layout needs a little getting used to because of split level but once figured out it is easy.

The staff at Doncaster are the most friendly and helpful I've encountered. Also the latest music playlist of the 80's & 90's is the best.

Joan from special orders gave me exceptional service and although couldn’t fill my order, she gave me options and retained the majority of the order so Doncaster Bunnings could keep the sale. Love the help and professional caring staff

Here's thing you won't see at most Bunnings.

A hotel above it

A carport building below it

Also the store is two storied.

Apart from that it is literally the same store you would find at any other Bunnings.

I really appreciate the customer service of the store. Most staff are nice and professional. Special highlight for Gina, she is super helpful. She can suggest what parts I need for my house. She would even ring me to let me know when the stock will replenish. It is beyond my expectation. Gina is the reason why I become the loyal customer of Doncaster Bunnings. Thanks a lot for your enthusiasm.

I must say ai am used to Bunnings on one floor. Had to ask where things were. Had what I needed. Bonus with under cover car parking. Very lovely and helpful young lady in paint department. Was a good experience staff bright and helpful only as said new to shopping on different floors. Just need time. Maybe if they have as Woolworths supermarket has a laminated page at end of isle so you can check and know where to go. A thought.
