Buller Wines reviews
27 Don’t waste your time and MONEY!
It was appalling.
They had an answer for everything:
Wait time: not able to get staff
Menu items not available: Food delivery didn’t arrive.
Vegetarian options: 1 option, remove prawns from Pasta dish.
We book over a week ago. They should have notified us before we arrived!
Over priced rubbish.
We are local to the area and will never go back!
Our experience started in the cellar door with a friendly & knowledgeable wine tasting experience and there is also gin and whiskey to taste. Great wine especially the calliope durif & Shiraz. We continued to the restaurant for lunch. All our meals were delicious and service was warm and lovely. All five of us enjoyed ourselves immensely.
Did a gin tasting paddle, the man serving didn’t seem to know much about anything so we just sat there quietly and figured it out ourselves. Didn’t seem like he wanted to be there.
Seriously.absolutely clueless staff! Visited Bullers wanting 5L of tawny, but wanted to taste first. When we asked the staff member "what are the characteristics? " She replied "what do you mean by that? It is made from red wine".
Bad bad bad
Clearly making enough money to be rude to potential customers. We dropped in after checking out olives at well over an hour before closing time and told very rudely they were not offering any more tastings. Would not bother trying again.
We popped in last Sunday. The girls were delightful andcfun to chat with. Love love love the muscat and tawny and gin and.
Thanks to Buller wines lack of interest in serving our group of 4 people, first saying 1hr wait after standing at counter for 5 minutes then saying we can order pizza using a QR code that didn't work we left and drove to All Saints which had great pizza, wine and friendly staff.
Excellent wines and excellent service. Made shipping wine home super easy. The food and service in the restaurant is also excellent.
Fabulous tasting experience at the cellar door with lovely staff who were generous and friendly and really looked after us. Enjoyed a delicious lunch at the restaurant. Great service, great portions, great food, great wine.
Travelling home from a short stay we dropped into this winery Buller Wines, just to look around.
The grounds are beautiful and can easily see in warmer weather the court yard would be a very relaxing spot to sit and enjoy good company and a good meal.
Immediately we felt very welcome and without trying the wonderful Rayleen had my wife and I seated for a tasting. We were asked what on their tasting menu caught our eye and we were able to pick and choose.
When we mentioned we drink whisky Rayleen mentioned they have a rare whiskey aged in muscat barrels. We had to try and we were very impressed! Very rounded yet complex tasting. There is an immediate fire, but that is quickly replaced with a smooth subtle creme Broulee finish.
If I could give them more than five stars I would. Great service, wine, food and atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back.
Had a great lunch at Bullers, thoroughly enjoyed the tastings and found Geoff to be amazing, very knowledgeable and so obliging, definitely will call again. Geoff definitely deserves a payrise
10/10 experience today tasting wines.
100% worth the stop. Excellent service and knowledge from the older gentleman. Sorry didn’t get his name but great service.
Jeff was friendly, welcoming and relatable. A very enjoyable tasting, we walked away with a few selections.
My sister had her 60th birthday party at Buller Wines. We were a large group of 24. For the entree it was a set menu of bruschetta, arancini balls and prawn skewers. All were very tasty the prawn skewers being a highlight and there was plenty of food to be shared. For mains you had a choice of lamb shanks, pork belly, Barramundi and a vegan option of roast beetroot salad. There were no complaints everybody enjoying the choice that they made. The accompanying wines were excellent and the staff diligent, polite and always available.
I would highly recommend buller wines as a venue for a party.
Our group of 8 guys on a motor bike trip from Canberra visited this winery as the first of three we had planned for the day. It was the best, and way better than one of them, Chalmers was also very good coming in a close second. Excellent wines and gin, great knowledgeable service with a smile, together with a cellar tour was top notch, highly recommended.
Visited during the Tastes of Rutherglen. $25 for a glass of wine and 2 skinny prawns on a stick is a bit steep. The spring roll offering wasn’t any better. What a rip off
Very nice place.
Indoors was open with evaporative cooling and outdoors is also undercover and slightly warmer.
Service was excellent.
Water on the table in seconds. Gin cocktail are strong and nice. Pork belly delicious and lamb tender with the pita bread.
Overall well worth the lunch.
Thankyou Bulla wines.
We have been to Rutherglen many times but have only just made it to Buller Wines on this trip and I wish we had come here sooner! A fantastic tasting led by Amanda who was thoughtful and attentive. We liked the experience so much we skipped the last 3 wineries on our list and just had a glass of wine and nibbles in the garden while listening to some live music as part of the Sunday Sessions event. A perfect afternoon finish to our weekend away.
Charlene at Buller Wines, you're an absolute superstar. Yesterday my Mum and I come to do a wine tasting and from the very beginning you were incredibly welcoming and accomdating, nothing was too much trouble and as customers we had your undivided attention. Today we returned for lunch, and were impressed by you once again! Not only did you look after us, but you went above and beyond to take us behind the scenes and provide us with a little tour of the old winery and introduced us to Winston (the gin distillery). We cannot thankyou enough for your amazing service, we felt valued and highly recommend Buller Wines to anyone whose in the Rutherglen Reigion. Thankyou Charlene for making our day special!
