Building Issues

I would never use building issues again. Stay away. They where the most unhelpful building surveyor in the industry and could not even answer a simple question even after asking me to out it in writing.
They thought they where working for the builder and not for me. Save your self and use anyone else.

Don't use this company. EVER
Garry Spence, clean up your act. Time to stop ignoring your customers and do something about this rubbish service you offer.

Building issues provide an excellent service. High level communication and followed up on multiple occasions via phone and email. Nothing was too difficult. They also provided a very comprehensive and easy to read report. Would highly recommend.

13/08/20 - They couldn't be bothered taking on work, said they were busy with CV19. I asked about what about after and got a "yeah. No" response.

Absolutely atrocious service then had a go at me for getting rather angry after taking my money then losing my documents and taking almost 4 months to give a shed permit

DO NOT USE BUILDING ISSUES!
Often unavailable, delayed project, unapproachable. This company almost caused me financial ruin and a huge cost personally.

Beware. Shocking company to deal with. Poor communication, hits customers up for all sorts of additional charges and fees, screens calls and has left numerous trades including engineers and the Victorian Building Authorities wondering why they wouldn’t accept products stamped with Australian Standards certification.

Highly recommend everyone uses Regional Building Services instead. I had no issues with that Company.

I came here to leave a review about my renovation/extension that I had done on my house just recently and my dealings with Building Issues, I honestly had to double check I had the right business as I ended up reading some of the other reviews that were of the negative sort and it sounded nothing like the experience I had with them.in fact the exact opposite! I dealt with Jacob who was prompt and efficient, I could tell he had great knowledge and communication from the start, I felt in good hands and when I decided to go ahead with these guys, I had a phone call from Jacob going over everything I had submitted, I did do my own research as much as I could but he picked up on a few things that would of caused dramas and money for me down the track. I hardly ever leave reviews and I also I did put my plans in with someone else and they did not pick up on this! So needless to say I knew who I was going with! Anyway thanks again Jacob and the team as the job is complete and I am loving the new space and area at my home.

Our dealings with Building Issues have been outstanding. They have made the entire process regarding permits, council issues, inspections and plan recommendations a hassle free and simple process. Communication channels have been great with follow up emails, phone calls and letters.

Couldn't get a more apt name. Nothing but issues dealing with them. They have a lack of knowledge, lack of professionalism, lack of accountability. They approved house plans that didn't comply with the building code and then blamed everone else, but themselves. Totally incompetent. Would never deal with them again.

Took our pergola designs in, the team made a few tweaks and alterations, dealt with council and heritage concerns for us. Pergola is built. My partner and me are very happy with the outcome. Highly recommend.

Waited 4 weeks with no reply, tried to ring them to have no answers. Poor communication, bad customer service and huge time wasters

An easy and pleasant experience

Our worst nightmare. Unbelievably rude, impossible to deal with, will not discuss any decisions or solutions. Phone calls and emails often unreturned after weeks of waiting. After 6 months they still were asking for more new documentation and no building permit issued. VBA has agreed to our terminating with them. Big weight off our shoulders! We have wasted time, money and our retirement trying to deal with them. Zero stars would be a generous rating from our viewpoint.

Very poor service. After waiting 6-8 weeks for Building Issues to telephone and inform me my condition report was completed and ready to be collected I had to call them only to find the report was still in 'draft' form. Apparently they were waiting for me to pay for the report, however they failed to send an invoice. There was no apology nor concern for their lack of communication.
