Budget Car & Truck Rental Footscray

Just wanted to clear my head regarding the amount that I was charged but the lady who I spoke on the phone. Worst phone manner.rude.very rude.if you want to filled pissed then book an appoint ment here. I remember when I was there to pick the car had same attitude. Rascist.

Scam, booked my rent car and went there on time but the office was close! Don't book under this location.

I hired a car today and thanks to Rachel, it was a breeze. I got a good price and the car was almost brand new.

Service: Friendly and quick. We called and went there straight to pick up the car.

Cost:
Got to rent a car new Kia Cerrato for ~$100/day;
There is an option to reduce excess to ~$800 in case of an accident, whoever is at fault, by paying $35/day. Deposit $200

Car:
Only issues were low tyre pressure and low washer fluid during our drive.
Minor scratch already existed. They said they would email scratch details, but we didn't receive the email.
Need to return car full tank again.

Facility:
Location is close to public transport: bus or train. We went there because few car rentals in the city are full or have closed. They let me use clean toilet there, thanks.

Rude and dismissive staff.

The worst customer experience possible. They over charged for fuel when the tank doesn’t have a way to measure when it’s full and didn’t explain km usage so over charged for that.

Avoid them at all costs.

Booking online was simple though it is not reassuring to note that all bookings are subject to availability on the day. This makes me think that if they over book then there's a chance you'll miss out. Thankfully this didn't happen to me and the upgrade coupon I used online was successfully fulfilled on pick up.
The car was appropriate to what I had booked however the interior felt and looked quite dusty and dirty, like it had only ever received a quick wipe over. One at my accommodation I thoroughly cleaned every surface within the car which made a huge difference! After I had done this I was quite happy with the car.
The total cost at the end of the hour period seemed slightly higher than anticipated but the staff were clearly in a rush and the pricing structure on the invoice made it difficult to understand if I had actually been overcharged for something.
Customer service was adequate though a little abrupt. On pickup the staff member appeared unwell which was a bit concerning given the pandemic.

Don't go with these guys charged me over $300 extra as a second charge truck only cost $200 and told oh sorry system error wait 7 days to get the money back, didn't care if it left us short on money or not absolutely disgusting

I booked a moving van through Budget in Footscray. When I arrived they didn't have the vehicle I hired. The lady at the counter was rude, dismissive and unpleasant, not remotely apologetic. To be honest I booked here in error, I usually use Thrifty who are a couple of hundred metres up the road, their service is much better. Do yourself a favour and use Thrifty, avoid this place.

Truck was good and clean but didn't come with a hand trolley. I had specifically asked and was assured it would be included. My biggest complaint is the costing. I was charged twice. On the day and again 5 days later. Some rubbish about one payment pending and I would receive that back within 5 working days.

The team helped me out when I really needed. They then helped me again when I got every red light on the way back to drop off the truck. Thank you

Hiring moving vans is always stressful, and this time it wasn’t. I’d go back. Van was new and they were quick with all the paperwork at both ends

Which meant no id to prove i was a licenced driver
Nic and his team were brilliant to make sure I got what I needed and it met victorian legal requirements
Had car for 2 months and the continued support courtesy and friendliness were impeccable. Thank you and very best wishes

Not sure if this business still open? High grass and weeds growing in the yard.looks a bit of a mess all over

They ripped me off - don't give them your money. They hired me a truck with half a tank of petrol. I called after leaving the shop to notify them, they said to just re-fill half way before returning the next day. Then on return they changed me a fine and double the cost to fill the tank the whole way. I called customer service and they said I shouldn't of left the lot with half a tank. It's the Footscray shops fault, and I'm out of pocket a hundred dollars.

Tourists must not hire a car at here. I provided international license, ID and card but they refused me to hire a car at the counter. They claimed that document to proof address is necessary without any advance notice. And staff is extraordinarily helpless and rude.

Awesome Team, always respectful and helpful, able to process pick-up and return promptly. Vehicles are always clean, inside and out, very well maintained.

We have rented a car three times in this store, and each experience was very unpleasant. For the first time, we booked an SUV one day in advance, but the staff said that their SUVs were rented out when we picked the car. We had to change another smaller car. The second time, the store was closed when we went to pick up the car. For the third time, we booked an SUV one week in advance, but when we went to pick up the car today, he told me that they did not have a SUV, but at the same time, a few white people were also renting an SUV and successfully picked up the car. We asked the shop staff why those people can rent SUV, and the staff said the SUV was the last one, they didn’t have any more. I asked again if the other SUVs parking in the yard could be rented, and they said those were already booked. I also booked the car last week, but my booking is not working. I think this is discrimination! I won't rent a car at this shop anymore.
