Best barbershop I’ve ever been to which is why I’ve been coming back regularly for over two years.

Joey and the team are exceptional. They know exactly how to get you the haircut you want. They’re also great to have a chat with and super chill.

Highly recommend for anyone looking for a barber!

Buddy’s barber shop is hand down the best barber shop I’ve been to. Joey and his team the have been cutting my hair a year now and it doesn’t matter who cuts your hair, the consistency and quality of service from the entire team is the best you will find in Melbourne. I highly recommend anyone pay the shop a visit if you haven’t had a good haircut experience elsewhere.when you arrive the team will all say gday to ya and you are greeted by buddy the shop dog he’s an old soul, a great listener, and bloody loves a cuddle n scratch!

Was on the look out for a new barbershop. This place in Carlton is grouse. Joey and Hamish down to earth guys, had a beer and copped a sweet snip. Vibes were high, good music, good chat, the way barbers should be in a great spot in Carlton. A 10/10 for me. The dog on their logo is the real deal. Buddy is a big part of the vibe. Suss him out here!

I gotta say, my visit to this barbershop was excellent. The barber Jan really knew his stuff, and I walked out of there with a cool haircut. The vibe in the shop was friendly, and I’ll definitely be back for more trims!

If you want a genuinely good barbershop experience you need to get into Buddy's! Buddy, Jan, Hamish and the Pistol from Bristol aka Joey are friendly and easy to talk to, have the knowledge and experience to understand what you want to achieve and the skills to provide an exceptional service! Joey is one of a kind! Banter for days, easy to talk to, and is a machine on the razor! A personal experience that is hard to find nowadays!

However, I've yet to meet the doggo Buddy himself, maybe third times the charm Joey? ;)

I was looked after by Hamish who is incredibly passionate and it shines through in the work that he does.

Was looking for a local barbershop in the area for a quick and simple cut and was not disappointed by the lads at Buddy’s. Super welcoming despite me not making an appointment prior and they managed to fit me in to their busy schedule.

100% would recommend if you want a fairly priced haircut and great company that reminds you of a small town barbershop

Best barber in Melbourne. I’ve trusted Joey with my hair for numerous years and he continues to deliver exceptional service and care. Few barbers remember your name, let alone your preferred hair style, yet Joey makes the effort to remember everything about you to deliver a personal experience. If you want a chilled barber who you can enjoy a beer with, Joey is your man.

Joey has hair, which for me, is a very trustworthy trait in a barber. I don’t trust bald people when it comes to hair. Seriously, why would I want a bald person cutting my hair? You have zero personal experience with having hair from what I can see, and what if you’re only bald because you tried cutting yours and made a meal of it? Speaking of meals, I made some spicy lamb chops last night, dropped way too much chilli powder into the marinade and nearly killed my wife, there was a plethora or tears and insults, all aimed in my direction, which was probably uncalled for. I didn’t think it was that bad. Having it again for lunch today as a matter of fact… But I digress. At Buddy’s the chat is good, the trim is elite, tunes are always bang on, buddy is one of the best pups god has ever shovelled guts into and most importantly it’s “consistently not s%*t”.

My marriage is falling apart, my children hate me and I’m stuck in a dead end job, however all those worries go away the second I step foot in Buddys Barbershop. This experience is more than just getting a haircut its like visiting family… a family that actually loves you and wants you in the house. It’s fair to say that I leave Buddys Barber Shop a better man whenever I visit, the barbers there are not only interested in me, but deeply listen to my problems. As a result I’ve stopped seeing my therapist, which is saving me a great deal of money. I purchased a bottle of after shave on my most recent visit and my wife took one smell and began to smile for the first time in months. She tells me that perhaps their is a future for our relationship after all and she remarks “only a real man could have such a pleasant aroma”. Lastly, it’s worth talking about the complimentary beers that come with the service. The conversation alone is enough to help me forget about my problems, however the ice cold beer really seals the deal. For the 30 minutes I sit in the chair I am overcome with a sense of optimism and hope that everything in my life is going to be alright. Buddys Barber shop has changed my life and given me a sense of confidence I’ve never experienced before.

Also, there’s a really cool dog at the shop, so that alone is worth the visit.

Great service, top notch blokes and just what a barbershop should be. Will I come back? Uh duh.

Excellent service from Buddy's Barbershop. The boss is nice and talkative with a lovely dog sitting on the couch. For any students who live next to the unimelb, you should try this barbershop. It's worth it.

Highly recommend these guys! Totally sorted out the north point of my noggin with a very fresh cut. Jackson & Joey are super friendly & easy to talk to, just as friendly was the pup Buddy, likely to be found chilling on the couch. Be sure to get down for all your haircut and styling needs!

Joey is a great barber, it’s hard to find one you can trust - this man knows what he is doing. Great cuts always, a good laugh too.

I would not go anywhere else than Buddys for a trim. Joey provides A+ service, the shop has a great vibe - highly recommend.
