We engage with BSP from the recommendation of a local builder. They were lovely and filled with hope and promises before signing up with them. Once our journey started with them it was constant following up, emails and phone calls to have our job looked at or to have questions answered. They had many staff handovers which meant that we were dealing with a different person who didn’t know our case. They constantly lost emails we sent them, would agree on building decisions and then change their mind or forget. They even blocked my husbands and my mobile number which meant I had to call them from a private number or from my work phone, not to mention we were only just wanting to know the process of our job. The biggest disappointment was that they had promised to approve our roof top terrace hatch which was imported from Gorter Hatches who supply all over Australia. We spent over 20k to have this hatch sent to us. It was approved by council, came with its code marks and we even paid for a specialised building surveyor report for it however Phill from BSP declined the numerous different designs we submitted to him with his requests, even though we had Gorter hatches code marks and a specialised report for a building surveyor specialist. We worked with our architects and builder and tried to implement different ways to satisfy Phil’s requests. In the end we couldn’t build our set of stairs to the roof top despite spending so much money on the hatch, tiling, plumbing, electrical, specialised reports and change of architectural plans. Phill wasn’t happy with the 5mm gap between the handrails (stairs and hatch). Yep! 5mm. I think they wanted to make our build difficult and didn’t like that we were following them up so they had the power to not approve this part of our home. To top it all off BSP walked through our home for the last and final inspection to be approval and barely looked at the job site. If you want your job done professionally, with care and feel supported in your build DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They’re rude, unreasonable, not transparent, unprofessional and filled with false hope. They’ll be lovely to you before singing up with them.

If you want phil and his team to destroy your house plans, waste your money, act like he knows what he is doing, pose problems which are dragged out and then sign off on your project after walking through the property for 4 minutes at the final inspection and not even check all the items that are required to be looked at, give phil and his team a call. Actually don’t call because they take your money and then they block your phone number. They might call you back in regards to your issues and concerns 3 weeks later stalling your build progress. At one point in regards to an issue quote: “I don’t know what to do”, even when you have the issue resolved and presented to phil and his team. His personal spin on scenarios which have resolutions will really impact your build. Reception and the team also tend to loose your documents you send via email.
