Brown Gouge Drycleaners reviews
32The self professed professional drycleaner should learn about customer service. I dropped my brand new leather vest for dryclean and noticed a button was lost when I picked it up. I was not expecting a compensation but just help with finding the lost button. Unfortunately his defensive mannerism was inflammatory and I walked away. Do not go to them if you expect service.
I dropped 2 of my puffer jackets for dry cleaning, I purposely do it since I need those jacket for my trip. Today when I pack my stuff I just take of the plastic and realize that they ruin my jackets. One jacket, all of the metal buttons are scratches. The other one, all the hardware scratches, some parts ripped, there are blue lint all over my jacket. I try to visit and give them a call but they are closed for Easter break. I left a voice message, you better give me a call and replace my jacket asap.
I needed an alteration done quickly and the staff were super happy to help out; I only waited 1 day. The alteration was perfect, my pants look amazing! Also, staff are very friendly and helpful.
Avoid! I went in to get a coat and dress dry cleaned. Not only was the coat not done there was no evidence that it had been try cleaned even though we had pinned the mark! The dress was ruined, now a very coarse material. When I went back in to resolve the issue that staff were very rude and aggrogant saying that they “didn’t need my recommendation” so they didn’t care that I wasn’t happy with the results. Won’t be going back again.
Incredibly good customer service, so polite and professional. Amanda sourced an expert opinion whether my job was possible, kept me informed via sms text, offered a very good price, and sent copies of the receipt in advance. They have obvious expertise, pride, and a love for what they do that is very admirable - its not just dry cleaning to them, but a craft. 10/10 would use again.
The staff are friendly and understanding. Not only did they return my coat and (suede!) stained jacket in perfect condition, they expedited this for me as I’m leaving the country soon and the pricing was also very reasonable. Would definitely be a regular!
Went to pick up my gown for an event today and they were closed with no warning. They also did not return a piece of valuable silk from an alteration despite my request, and did not answer the phone when I tried to follow it up. Overpriced services too. Never again.
AMAZING SERVICE! Ever since I came to Australia I’ve gone to this dry cleaners, they are always on time, and even earlier than expected, and take really good care of all my clothes. The best part about this place is Amanda, she will always greet you with a warm smile and positive attitude, shes truly lovely. Such a nice service and people working here:)
I always do my suits here. Great work and fast turn around times. Great value for money and impeccable service, I will continue to use them for many more years.
Not great! I specified a jacket had very fragile buttons, and that I wouldn't drop it off if they couldn't take care of it. I was reassured, but most buttons came back shattered.
As well, some trousers I dropped off have had the crease very misaligned, they look stupid and feel weird now. I wrote to their website and got no reply. Just an indifference, a lack of care all round.
Not happy at all with the results (see photos).
Went to complain and was offered a 50% discount on my next clean… Not good enough for me but wasn’t listened to unfortunately.
Also, their opening hours need to be updated: they actually close at 4pm, not 6pm as it says online… I wasted a trip because of that misinformation.
Run into the dry cleaner on Saturday to get my sons' school uniform dry cleaned for Monday, but it was too late, the shop was about to close, but the guy at counter offered picking up on Monday early morning once Lygon Court is open, as they start working at 4: 30am!? (Seriousely?). I went to picked up all 3 uniforms at 7: 00 Monday morning, beautiful job, everything was done properly, pen marks removed, and the jacket was still warm:). Very professional, patient and willing to help, highly recommended.
Put 3 garments in for dry-cleaning.
When I queried the cost (that had been discounted but was still expensive) his tone changed and his anger escalated from there, to, 'if you don't like it go somewhere else'. He then went to the till and informed me he was going to revert to the original price (I give you no discount). I said I would not pay it and that Id never come back to his 'kiosk', and he told me to get out of his 'shop. I threatened the police to retrieve my garments and it was only the next door business offering to pick up (pay for) the dry cleaning for me, (and I in turn pay him) that I was even able to get back my clothes.
This man should not be in face to face business - OR he should keep his stresses for the gym-also I doubt if he would have continued his rage with a male standing opposite the counter either. Rude, offensive and foul-tempered.
He IS overpriced (compared to others) which adds insult to injury. The job is average as well.
Glad to have found this dry cleaners - they do alterations too. Very professional, and do a great job.
Spent $20 to dry clean a $500 dress only for it to come back without a strap, rendering the dress unwearable. Not worth losing the money.
Initially they seemed understanding and said they would look for the missing piece. I even made them write on the back of the receipt the first time for proof.
Now after a week they changed their tune and their version is they can't find it so I must have lost it. Why would I come back if I had lost it? I'm not even asking for a refund. Just let me wear my dress again.
Bent over backwards to make sure my coats and dresses were ready to go for a weekend wedding in the country. Great job, and 10% discount if you pay up front.

Dropped off two occasion dresses, one of which had drink stains. In addition to the hefty prices I was charged an additional fee for the removal of the stains which I wasn’t happy about to begin with because why would you have something laundered without wanting stains removed? It should be included as standard in all services. Further he did not tell me he was charging it and I only saw it on the receipt after. Rude.
Anyway when I picked it up, the stains were still there and he told me they ‘ tried everything’ and couldn’t get them out and advised further there was nothing that could be done to get them out. Foolishly I assumed the charge would come off the receipt, until I got back to my car and saw he still charged the extra stain removal fee! He also tied off the bottom of the bag which had the two dresses in it and made no further comments about either dress. A week later I got the dresses out to have a go at removing the stains myself - which by the way worked fine - very convinced the stain removal service is a scam! - the dresses had been bagged wet!? ! And he didn’t even tell me! Lucky I got them out when I did because they smelt and were still damp after sitting wet in the bag in the wardrobe as long as they did and needed to be serviced again - obviously by another dry cleaner.
Would not recommend these people at all! Avoid.
Very friendly, knowledgeable staff as well as very professional, send in a heavily soiled suit for dry cleaning, blazer has various drink stains. It came back like brand new with reasonable price. Very happy with your service.
Appreciable, Well trained staff, top quality, good prices, fast turnaround. Highly recommended.
