I was waiting for my partner in the reception area and a very interesting thing happened. The receptionist was picking up the phone and having a conversation with customers. So involuntarily I can hear everything that was happening in the common area. After a while, one of the doctors come to reception and started discussing one of the clients. It did not warry them that I was in the same room. They were laughing at how ridiculous a demand one of the clients was to call her before appointment and remind her about an uppcoming visit. The receptionist was complaining that there are hundreds of clients and she cannot call everyone. But no one asked her to call every single person! Only one person asked for this favour because she is a vulnerable person and needs a little bit of care and understanding. She was ringing not to Centrelink she is looking for psychological help! Also, it is so rude to discuss a client in front unfamiliar person! It is so unprofessional. I just can imagine how they laugh about their clients during lunch break and share all stories that people tell them. If it was not required by law to visit them I would never come close to that place. Even when the receptionist was taking payment details of the person, she would read out loud the name, card number, expiration date and everything can be heard clearly in the reception area. From my personal perception, it was a clear feeling that clients are just cash cows and no one had any respect for them.

It was the most unpleasant experience with mental health specialist. I came across with impatience, constant interruption, lack of sympathy and negative environment. It was required by my work cover to endure one-time psychiatric assessment and I'm glad I don't have to go through this again. Highly DO NOT recommend this organisation.

I have been looked after by Remi for many years and have always found him to be a most professional, polite, caring and helpful psychiatrist. The clinic itself is lovely, spacious and bright and the reception staff have been respectful and efficient. Very happy with Brighton Minds.
