Apparently being able to unlock the passenger side door of your XF Jaguar is optional after warranty? Also be aware of them identifying faults such as oil leaks during the warranty period and simply wiping the area rather than fixing the problem only to be told after warranty expires that its time to fix it, that way they can charge you!
After being told by the service department to contact Jaguar customer relations, I received this.
We write to you in relation to the recent correspondence on the 7 May 2020 regarding the concerns on your Jaguar XF.
As mentioned previously, all requests for out of warranty assistance are given careful consideration, taking into account factors that include but are not limited to the vehicle’s age, service history, and kilometres travelled. While Jaguar Australia places strong emphasis on resolving all customer concerns, this however cannot be without limitation.
Jaguar Australia provided your vehicle with a 3-year new car warranty on the 29 August 2014. This warranty was in place to cover the owner for any costs associated with unforeseeable defects in manufacture, within the three-year timeframe.
In relation to the concerns with the locking system, start/stop, latches and valves on the vehicle, these could not be attributed to poor manufacture on a vehicle that is 5 years of age.
Therefore, we are not in a position to financially assist with the costs involved for this repair.
If you wish to proceed with the retail repairs, please contact Brighton Land Rover on xxxxxxxx to arrange a booking date.
So much for complying with ACCC consumer laws eh!
So there you have it folks, your premium Jaguar (with 68000kms) which commanded a premium price turns out to be no better than lesser main stream brands and they even reduced our warranty period by 4 months. We purchased the vehicle NEW as stated above in December 2014.
Recently had a service at Jaguar Brighton, they updated the InControl touch Pro didn't bother to mention it was an option otherwise would have rejected it the InControl was working perfectly. Service obviously didn't bother to check if the update was successful as the sim card for navigation wasn't recognised and the screen display was a white out. Arranged to take it back a few days later to get fixed and faced with a service representative less than helpful. Walked away with nothing resolved.
Genuinely want to locate problems and solve them, in addtion the service and follow up is excellent. Always provide loan car and try to fit my schedule.
Great new premises. Congratulations. Beautifully presented and gorgeous vehicles. The staff are always immaculately dressed and treat customers as kings. Well done.
Please provide the sales people with risk management education. Some (Mr dark hair beard) are racing around, putting your cars and our children, pets, cars and selves at risk. Flooring it into the tiniest st in Brighton is not the time to be playing with your phone, Mr Salesman. We haven't seen any service people behave like this, just certain salespeople. One I mentioned has no regard for people in the street, its like he wants to terrorize us. Get them help before they ruin their lives and ours by killing our kids. Thank you.
