Stayed on a powered site. So close to Mystic park. The new facilities look good, hopefully the park will gradually update as some of the amenities are a bit aged.

We stayed at CC for 12 nights on our caravan on a powered site. Easy booking online system and great communication re site etc. Easy map to follow to find yr siteExcellent location to town.half hour easy walk or 10 min bike ride.use the track through the park opposite for a flat ride to and from town. Excellent location for mountain bike enthusiasts as right at bottom of the Mystic Mountain trails and shuttle bus. Amenities are very old but clean. Seemed to be plenty of hot water although we used our own shower. Cabins are very old and looked pretty basic but they were pretty full most nights. People obviously happy to stay in them for a couple of nights. New ones have been built but not in use yet. We had an excellent site which was mostly grass.plenty of room for us to have the awning out and park our wagon. We were able to put our grey water into the hedge behind us but most people have to just lay the pipe under the caravan which would be a negative. Lots of trees so plenty of shade. No dump station yet.apparently they are putting one in this year but the manager told us that Tasman Park Camp would let us use theirs for $5 which they happily did. No dump station in town to use! Managers are onsite but we only saw them as they went about their business. Loved the relaxed feel of CC.plenty of space.didn’t feel cramped. Bernie’s creek is cute and nice for a paddle but plenty of excellent swimming holes around.recommend the Tronoh Dredge hole at Harrietville! Loved the easy access to the rail trails. Has a coffee caravan set up onsite but wasn’t open which was a real shame. Looks brand new. People were respectful of 10,30 quiet time which was great and good for young families. Has excellent laundry facilities. We throughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return sometime again!

Amazing location in amongst the trees. Could really do with upgrading the facilities though.

Crusty is great because they allow dogs, even over summer. I think it’s one of the only places in Bright who do.

It’s a bit of a treck into town, you’d want a bike or to drive. Sites are pretty good, if you get one out the front it’s nice to look at the hills and paraglides. But this also leaves you pretty far from the toilets. Toilets aren’t the nicest, pretty old buildings.

We were unfortunately camped between two very large groups that were playing loud music and drinking until way past midnight. Crusty sends a text saying noise needs to be kept down past 10: 30pm but it doesn’t seem like anyone enforces it. There was heaps of empty space elsewhere in the park so I’m not sure why they placed such large groups next to each other. We had planned to be up early to hit mystic but unfortunately these plans were a bit ruined because we were kept up so late.

Additionally the facilities are extremely run down and almost unliveable. It’s surprising that they have let it deteriorate so much and not invest into the property.

There also needs to be a sign or some gravel work on the entrance as there are two pretty big dips which are a bit dangerous.

I gave Crusty 2 stars for its proximity to Mystic which is unrivalled and also the general location which is really beautiful.

The name should have been a giveaway. Positives: the water pressure in the amenities is good plus (even if it is run down) it has lots of hooks on the back of the shower door & it's not far from town. Pet friendly cabins. It had a bar fridge, microwave and kettle and basic crockery/cutlery but you will need to bring your pots and pans cooking tools (matches also) as there is "technically" a camp kitchen but it's basically burners, BBQ, more microwaves, pizza oven? And toasters and a big fridge and freezer outside under a verandah. The down sides, cabins are small (circa 1930), there is no fly wire on windows etc, so lots of bugs if you leave your window open for a bit of air. An outside light would have been helpful as the padlock was a bit tricky. However pet friendly. Great if you are spending all day out and just need somewhere to sleep. Would defiantly be better if you are in your own caravan with ensuite.

My saviour. Late night traveller in dire need of a place to stay. They picked up the phone late and had everything prepped for me when everyone else was booked out. Good family environment and well priced. Thanks

We loved our experience while here, true camping feeling, in the middle of the nature, rustic infrastructure and very real! We loved it and we will be back for sure!

We were camping at site 15A, Saturday night there was a thunderstorm and it rained quite heavily. But all the water from that side of the park funneled and ran directly into our campsite. We awoke to more than 20cm’s of water flooding our tents and belongings. This ruined sleeping gear and food. We were lucky people woke before someone might have drowned. No staff from the park came to check or help us. This site does not have adequately drainage and is not safe. I would appreciate a full refund and an apology for this. Regards, Rodney. If I don’t I’m more than happy to share this review on Redit and socials.

Great place to camp if you're mountain biking, quick ride into town, right beside the river for a post-ride swim, great cooking facilities with bbqs and burners aplenty, good hot showers and toilet blocks, and fire pits available, will be back for sure

Camp crusty seems to attract bogans and understandably the nice people who manage the park struggle to control the bogans playing loud music and driving quickly through the park.

Zero communication possible after booking- multiple emails sent. Everything ignored. Therefore, refunds not possible.

Love staying at Camp Crusty! Always feel welcome and great place to bring dogs. Its hard to find places that will accommodate dogs so Camp Crusty is a blessing!

Rooms clean and park well maintained.

This joint gave me the ick! I would have preferred the camp grounds over the cabins! We were absolutely certain the bedding and sheets weren’t washed before arrival which is very unhygienic.

The heater wasn’t heating the cabin at all, I think they would be better off mowing those ran down chicken sheds over and put some decent cabins on-site.

The amenities were disturbing but tolerable, in saying that they definitely lack park daily maintenance the basins were blocked for days in the toilets.

As the old saying goes you pay for what you get.

Had a Fantastic time with the boys MTB trails on your doorstep. Not the Hyatt or Hilton but just what you need. Caretaker couldn't have been anymore accommodating top work.

AVOID!
This place is an absolute dump.
Cabins were filthy and cold with no extra blankets. Beds rock hard and the walls so thin I could hear people snoring next door. Also the power cuts out intermittently.
The facilities look like they've never been maintained and the entire site is a mud pit.
It seems like the owners just do not care about the guests. The best solution would be a bulldozer and new owners.

Owner is great and helpful. Location of the property is great. The room and facilities are a bit out dated. Toilets and bathrooms were very clean. The site was under construction and due moisture and the mud it was very dirty, to me taking a pram would be an unwelcome challenge given the cold and dirt. There were no mats outside the cabin to wipe out the mud from shoes. The entrance of the property has no light on the big board displaying the name of the park so it was a bit challenging to get into the driveway at night. Camp kitchen was outside so it was not temperature controlled, did not end up using it due to low temperature in the morning. Beds/pillows were comfortable and there were multiple blankets/dunas. Heated mattresses were comfortable and cozy. Doors had big gap underneath allowing air draft to come in. Oil heaters were ok, I would recommend to carry a cheap electric heater just in case. Overall, the site being under construction and property being a bit rundown was the only downside.

Very disappointing. Expecting some disruption (bulldozer digging up the park ground) but could not accommodate the small size of the room (no room for our bags), the mud, the state of the toilet facilities, no car park space near the “cabin” and poor state of the outside “camp kitchen” facilities. We made the decision that we could not stay and left soon after we arrived, forfeiting our two night payment.
