Brickmakers Park reviews
24 The brick making machine artifact was interesting for me as 50 years ago I worked in the oil industry supplying lubricants for such giant machines.
Showing twelve year old grandson the workings was briefly interesting to him too before shooting basketballs into the high basketball hoop nearby.
He's in the Cyberspace age along with apparently all young males who spend endless time looking at screens while doing battle in virtual reality.
A nice quiet area despite being surrounded by office spaces. Its got a big oval and a running track. A playground and barbecue place. A small pond and a few walking bridges. Good for a 30 min break.
Its got a brick making machinery to see (not functional of course).
Small but nice playground, also some nature walks, can see ducks and interesting plants like a huge aloe bush.
Because a summer walking trial. We walk from brickmakers park towards jells park it's nice and cool and shady
Brickmakers has an interesting history, an amazing playground, small lake, wind carillion and space to enjoy. The kids, the dog and parents all have something to enjoy.
Right near Scotchman’s creek Trail, this is a great park for a picnic or kicking a football. There is a playground and picnic tables.
The Oakleigh coffee shops are not far away!
Great little park for lockdown picnics. Not too busy. Lots of benches for sitting and a public toilet
This is a small park in the suburbs. A good place to spend time with your family kids and friends. A locals park
Everything is quite well maintained but I'd like to see more native trees and an understorey of native shrubs and groundcovers on the site. Too much of the area is open.
The 2 highlights of park for me are the pond that is home to numerous ducks and the fantastic cacti garden. Also features a great bbq area and playground.
TIP: ample parking on Stamford rd
The park also offers a large oval, basketball ring, great kids playground, electric BBQs and a sheltered area with roof and some tables and benches. We visit here frequently visit here with our 2 dogs (off leash park), have used it for several family gatherings, barbies, etc
Cute quiet park with a playground and one main covered area for a possible mini outdoor / open party. Plenty of parking and the playground is somewhat secluded so if you’re for something smaller and tame, a great option
Not very dog friendly because the park doesn't have many fences. Good for young families though. Well maintained by the council.
Fun to reverse engineer the operation of the brick making machine. Lots of space to play and a wonderful water garden
Interesting playground with a quirky feel, BBQ facilities are pretty good with undercover seating area. Great for young kids birthdays, family get togethers or a Sunday lunch. Toilet facilities (note they close at around 6pm), Half basketball court, a peaceful garden. Oakleigh recreation centre is only 50m walk up the path where in the summer Oakleigh swimming pool is open, gym, basketball courts, Waverley gymnastics centre (currently being built). From parts of the Scotchman creek trail signage indicating where places are could be improved particularly from Scotchman's Run reserve. The park hence the name was a Brickmaking facility (Oakleigh Brick Co.) It started making bricks in 1885 and ended in 1985. It is also a Monash heritage site where some equipment still remains.
Overall great place and very peaceful and quiet.
Enjoyed the day outing with friends. Good food. Cricket. If you are close to chadstone, Okleigh this a wonderful place to go and relax.

Nice family park, clam and perfect for a day picnic, good for kids also, should have more lavatories facilities, needs to have more sings for keeping the facilities cleanliness
Nice place to bring kids. Bins provided. Parking available. Bbq facilities available. Perfect for a picnic with kids or if you are having an evening walk. There is a small ground as well. Dogs are not allowed though.
This park has a nice under cover BBQ within easy reach of the playground. Nice range of equipment to satisfy the little tikes. Drinking fountain and loo nearby. A historical brick makers exhibit is at one end of the field and worth visiting. A lovely landscaped mini garden with pond is in this park area as well. There is an interesting wind chime at the top of the hill nearby. Please don't feed the ducks unless you are feeding it what it might find in nature.
