Coffee wasn't exactly to my taste, not sure what happened there but it tasted watery. The shakshuka however was a different beast. The eggs were beautifully poached, despite having spent some quality time in a takeaway box. The bread was fragrant and flavourful, especially with the butter that comes together. The sauce was nicely seasoned too and the chorizo really adds a lot of flavor to the whole dish. I'd return for the food anytime.

Overall great food. Pork belly twice cooked was a little dry. Everything else was was lovely though

Wonderful cafe! Beautiful cafe, really nice crew and great food too. A genuinely relaxed, warm and great place to take time out and enjoy. Brilliant coffee too!

Absolutely horrendous service. Waited for 45 minutes, on a day when we were only 1 of 3 tables in the area. When we went to tell them we couldn't wait any longer due to plans, we noticed the chef was only JUST starting our order. No explanation, no apology, no nothing. We canceled the order and left, still starving.

Never again

Had breakfast here this morning. In an area filled with great cafes, this place falls far short. Poor flavours, cheap ingredients, but with a price to match the many better options (even on the same street! Piccante is many times better, and more affordable). I don't recommend it at all, unless you want cheap white bread, sad eggs, soggy bacon, and bland vegetables.

Hahaha what a cool name! Hahaha this place is cool. The service is 5/5.just lovely friendly happy faces.

My strong almond latte was superb, absolutely delicious almond milk, with some great flavour but maybe a little weak for me.

I ordered Tims plate (what else hahaha) which had a field mushroom, bacon (I forgot to ask for crispy) 2 poached eggs, wilted spinach, tomato, and sourdough which was all very tasty.

My partners dish was also really tasty with some good cheese, the perfect poached egg and an otherwise solid vegetarian dish.

This place is definitely worth a visit! And if you are pressed for time you can grab a take away coffee just off the kitchen.

Really cool place for a relaxed start into the day with a delicious selection of breakfast delis. I had the Egg Benedict with salmon and received a fresh lemon. That describes the whole atmosphere and interiors always a little bit more that you would expect! Keep it up like that:)

Great service. Great coffee. Perfect window seating. Right by the park. The toast was a tad dry, but everything else was spot on. Recommended.

Wholesome food, great coffee and cozy cafe.

The stack was delicious yet simple.

Will be back to try a fresh baguette that's on the menu!

Seriously most delicious Breakfast I've had in a while. Had the breakfast burrito, it was amazing. The best thing about this place apart from the food and service is that it's not too trendy, it's got a lovely fit-out don't get me wrong, but it's not trying to be anything it's not. Absolutely recommended

B@T; boasting it's titular pun and a location opposite the bijoux delight that is the Fitzroy North library is one of those spots that rewards many returns. The victuals are arranged with what Truman Capote might have called matronly care, something to behold, with inventive flourishes enlivening familiar favorites. The coffee has a bracing depth of flavor and, there are enough milk substitutes to comfort every sensitivity. The menu is a study in descriptive allure and full disclosure exactitude - the Construct Your Own breakfast algorithm being a particular delight that turns ordering into a maths puzzle to sharpen the mind as well as appetite (I did find myself wondering if the cheese options should rightly be in the protein section). The staff are solicitous and typically witty, and gliding amongst the happily ruminating throng is Timothy himself, always the gracious host. Completing the ambiance is a sound track of carefully curated torch songs lite and a backdrop of silent screenings of Gilligan's Island in all it's 70s camp tomfoolery. To be periodically marooned here with a good book or diverting company makes a fine desert island moment.

Waited over 40 minutes when there was hardly anyone there for toast with avocado. Asked for an update on timing, was told it was a few minutes away. It seemed like they’d forgotten altogether, as people seated next to us after we arrived had already received their cooked breakfasts. No acknowledgement, no apology. Got it to go, still took longer than they said, small serving, not worth the money. Disappointed with the service. Not the first time I’ve had to wait a long time but it’s the last time I’ll go there.

Warm and mild, from ambience to flavour. Gentle but delicious coffee, a wonderful calm vibe that's relaxing and inspiring, warm lighting, interior and dishes that ensure your butter is actually spreadable and a real sweetie serving. A genuinely lovely experience.

Fairly average coffee and at $4.50 in Melbourne, you really need to bring the goods if you're charging that price. Shame as it's a nice little corner nook of a place.

Sat for 5-10 minutes today while wait staff passed me by several times, looked at me, but failed to actually acknowledge or serve me. I decided to go elsewhere and as I left waiter said see you next time as if he had just waited on me.
