Bread and Pickles reviews
24Had the best lunch ever here. Ordered a steak and mushroom pie and it was twice the size of a regular bakery pie, packed full of slow cooked meat and mushroom and nicely seasoned. Hubby had a chicken and chorizo pie and just loved the flavours. Great staff, great food and great coffee! Value for money meal.
This place is THE bakery in Meeniyan. Don't be fooled by the other side of the street. Honestly the best ham and salad roll I've had in my life. Real thick ham, shredded carrots, lettuce, cucumber, red onion in a soft roll in glad wrap so it travels really well. Obviously made by someone who knows how to make a roll that doesnt stuff around!
Their pies looked deep, flaky and delicious too and the coffee rivals anywhere in Melbourne.
Apparently the business is for sale as well so get in quick!
Bakeries like this are getting harder to find and are a true local gem worth experiencing.
Very very recommended.:)
Walked in 1.30pm asked for chips an dim sims fresh cooked. Told me burner wasnt working. Came out with cold chips an under cooked dim sims from food warmer. Very disappionted but was too dumb to walk out
Stopped here on the way back from Wilsons Prom. Tha place was busy with a queue outside the door but they used several registers and the wait was just a few minutes which amazed me.
Consistently great coffee, well done to the girls who make it. Comfy couches to sit on. Nice music, friendly staff.
Amazing family owned cafe/bakery. Steve and his wife are extremely friendly outgoing hospitable people. Will visit again
I am not a big fan of pies but their plain meat pie was an exception. It was so well balanced in flavour and texture. It really got me interested in trying out more pies.
Quite honestly, the best cauli and broccoli pie I've ever had in many journeys around Australia. Excellent pastry and balance of flavours - not too much cheese or pepper like many add, but just enough. Not cheapest, but you get what you pay for. Lovely service too. We ate in, and everyone reported their pies were so good, we bought extra to take home.
Stopped here on the way to Wilson's Prom, Coffee was absolutely to die for the kids loved their home made sausage rolls and chips and huge pies and toasties were absolute perfection. The young lady who served us was immaculately presented and so polite i will definitely be stopping in here again next trip and recommending it to my friends
Outstanding! I drive and travel a lot for work and it’s rare to find GOOD coffee, Bread & Pickles has GREAT coffee, the sausage wrap was amazing, excellent selection very early in the morning when everything else is shut, this will very much become my regular when staying down in south Gippsland!
Salad roll for nearly $9 wasn't freshly made soggy wet bottom of the roll and coffee taste like detergent 2pm
$9 for a tasteless brekky wrap, and a 20 minute wait for a milkshake.with no lid. Terrible slow service
Ok food, too much garlic on the Snitzel and lamb foccacias Young lady who served was pleasant, though older lady when asked respectfully by my wife for paper towel to mop up a small drink spill by our daughter was met by a surly response. The lady came and mopped the spill though ignored the crumbs left on the table by the previous customers. Mysteriously they were not making milk shakes today. Will try another place in Meeniyan next time.
At first I thought those pies are a bit dear but hey it’s an award pie but after ordering mine I was impressed by the size of it. It’s almost double of the height you get from any other pie shop or bakery!
My chicken and chorizo was really good, the pie crust wasn’t doughy in the bottom but all crunchy around, it has a decent amount of chicken too and fresh herb.
Very tasty.
I just would’ve love more chorizo as flavour because when it cook in that nice sauce it’ll release all of its flavour and (light) spice that I was after.
Called in on the way back to Melbourne from the Prom. Decided on the Chicken and Chorizo Pie, topped with home made relish. Delicious. Excellent pastry and chunky filling. As mentioned, the pies are deep and substantial. I’ll be dropping in again to try more.
Very disappointing. Worst meat pie and weak watery coffees. Walk up the road to the gourmet bakery instead.
Wow! Absolutely banging food and drinks. We opted for a spinach and ricotta pastry - very well seasoned there’s no need for sauce. We also enjoyed the generously sized lamb and rosemary pie. Will definitely stop by here again next time we are passing though.
Very nice coffee
Good service
Pies and huge and deep however I thought they were a little gluggy. Would like it to be a little runny. Also flavour was ok but needed to be stronger.
Good value
Got 2 pies from here on Wednesday and they are MORE THEN A PIE! One is a meal on its own soooooo filling and delicious.
The pies and sausage rolls here are second to none. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would highly recommend this lovely cafe.
