Box Hill Community Arts Centre reviews
18A lovely Arts Centre, a spacious light building and so good to see everyone enjoying different art rooms.
A knighthood to the architect who designed this beautiful, practical space. Incredible art and craft facilities surrounded by gorgeous native gardens, a generous kitchen and dining area looking onto the gorgeous gardens. Everything looks onto the gorgeous gardens.performance hall with huge sliding doors onto.gardens. They're programming exciting exhibitions in the big open central corridor that's more of a room. The design of the centre is beautiful, with arcing stained timber ceilings, clerestory windows and skylights. There's a community garden. Unfortunately they're very 'across' opportunities to get more money, which is not very community minded; every single item has a price to rent. Hence don't rely on what is in the room you hire, being yours to use while you hire it. You'll probably have to rent two or three things extra. It's a shame when the people who run a space aren't as inspired as the architect in whose vision they're dwelling. But we're so very fortunate that architect got their design past the gate keepers.
It is a good place for children to get acquainted with different arts, such as playing with clay, making cups, bowls or anything they like, painting.
The children participate in chorus rehearsals, and the place is good. Parking is only available on nearby streets, but not too difficult to find
Great holiday program. The kids loved the portrait drawing coarse. The teacher went above and beyond and didn’t kick them out when the time was done and let them finish. The results were astounding! Highly recommended.
I go to this place for math tutoring, and so far so good the people working there have always had helpful attitudes towards helping, however, after I have lost my pencil case i can say i'm actually kind of disappointed in what had happened. I had requested that they check the surveilance for where the thing might've been lost at, but it turns out that they delete the footage after a few days. What if other people run into similar problems and this is what happens to them? Come on. I really don't like complaining as it makes me feel guilty but i think this time is worth it.
Its a small art centre,
So don't to much.
Good for quick fix for art lovers
I don't live in the area but have attended two book launches here - its accessible by public transport, well maintained and I love the garden and the public art exhibitions they obviously host - great connection to community demonstrated.
Excellent Community Space in Box Hill. There's an outdoor community veggie garden which one can rent a small plot to plant. Inside are rooms that which have been used by many groups to do Church/Art's and Craft classes/ad-hoc community functions/etc
Staff member was very kind, beautiful affordable art pieces on sale that would make great gifts, runs community support groups as well as art classes, books on art to read informative community notice board. Lovely athmosphere. They have a dance studio, meeting room, drycraft room, clay room and garden room. This place makes my heart sing.
I been there in 2021 to looked at the paintings and I been there, way back before the COVID starts in 2020. I was painting the apron back then in probably 2015/2016
I’ve been taking pottery classes here for years. Before that I took my kids to school holiday art and pottery classes. They have wonderful, dedicated teachers who run creative and enjoyable classes.
Friendly talented people at art group.
Lovely area to sit and have coffee/tea and enjoy the scenery.
Definately going back.
A very nice place. I went there to vote and in the future I will visit again to enjoy their facilities.
Old building but with lots of charm. I went to watch my son play and sing in a music competition organized by Whitehorse City Council. The room had a stage, a decent amount of seating space and pretty ok acoustics. Not sure if it can be rented but worth checking out if you have a mid sized function you want to have.
Highly recommend if you need a room for a couple of hours for a meeting. Pablo is super helpful xx
Some great courses on offer and they have a artists shop where you could buy some real great gifts:)
