BOWLTIFUL reviews
17Food here is really delicious! Staff were super friendly and I love the generous portion given especially the meat. However the other night when me and my friend visited, the restaurant was quite empty and we were glad to have some privacy to chat. However when another group of people arrived, they wanted to sit with a gap from us however the server made them sit right next to us, which in this restaurant is basically together as there’s only 30cm of distance apart. I understand the need to have sitting arrangements but when it’s empty I think it’s fine to give us some privacy. The rest of the meal was quite uncomfortable as there’s stranger listening in to our conversation. Please do something about customer zoning and provide a less cramped space.
So good and delicious! But not too many vegetarian options. The best thing is, you can choose the thickness of the noodles! Love that
One of the best hand-pulled noodles in Melbourne. The broths are amazing and really hits the spot when in cold season. The place is a bit cramped and it’s always busy but you never have to wait long for your food. It’s easy to order online and they just bring you the food. Efficient staffs and operations.
The noodles dishes were very average but the lamb skewers were amazing. Still not enough to go back to try again though.
Great place for an affordable and filling meal. The dry noodles were kinda bland and the noodles themselves (wide) were hit or miss in terms of texture.
I went to have my lunch in this restaurant this morning. This is my worst lunch in my life. I walked in to this restaurant with my drink which i just bought. After I paid my order the waitress told me that I can bring in my drink but I cannot drink because I bought from other place. She should have told me before I pay. When I took a sit and wait for my food, the waitress walk towards me many times to make sure that I didn't drink my own drink. She behave like a police observing a criminal. All the waitresses are very rude and bad attitude. I will not recommend anybody to go to this restaurant. It's not worth of going to this restaurant at all. I will definitely not going back again.
Didn't know I could fill my stomach with amazing food to the point where I can't walk for just 15$
I would definitely pay more than $25 for the lanzhao noodle soup
Definitely a rare sight for halal shops
Food:
• Lanzhou beef noodle soup with homemade pickles $16.80
• Braised beef brisket noodle soup $16.80
• Beef and green pepper burger $8.80
• Signature lamb skewers $10.80
• Beef and onion steamed buns $7.80
Price: Standard. Snacks felt overpriced. 10% surcharge after 10pm + 10% surcharge on Sundays.
Service: Standard. Quick service.
Was I full? Yes! You get a good amount of noodles for what you pay.
Overall: 7/10 Loved that we could choose the noodle thickness because I LOVE wide noodles so obviously I got the super wide.
Broth was nice and full of flavour. I wish the chilli packed a better punch but easily adjustable with the chilli oil jars provided.
Sides were lacking and overpriced for what you get. I was especially shocked by the lamb skewers because they were literally the size of my pinky nail.
Overall I would only go back for the noodles. Open very late!
I was simply impressed with the way they packed our food with a nice reusable plastic bag with halal stamp on it. However taste was just okay it’s worth trying for sure, they give spicy sauce we also had to add extra soya sauce, noodles were good overall I’d say 3/5. Skewers we’re way too small, tiny little pieces of lamb and fat 3/5. The best part was its halal right on Swanston street. May ALLAH bless them. ALHAMDULILLAH
Excellent value for money! The noodle bowls are huge, and for $60 we were able to order two bowls of noodles, two drinks (bottle of coke and a tea), and two black sesame buns for dessert.
Absolutely amazing quality. I’ve been in love with hand pulled noodles since trying Master Lanzhou. Here, I tried the dry noodles with mince beef and soybean paste and it was 10/10. Very generous servings yet I devoured them. Would definitely return! I also love how the store pays homage to the dish’s Chinese Muslim origins.
Warm up with a bowl of @bowltiful delicious noodle soup!

When I tried this noodle soup, it provided an instant feeling of comfort and relaxation, resulting in a wonderful experience. The broth was delightful, the noodles were freshly made to order.
There is a wide selection of noodles with 16 different flavorus to choose from, and there are some excellent vegetarian-friendly options available as well
Both soup and dry noodles are halal-friendly, and what's even more impressive is that the store stays open until 2am every day!
Had late night dinner here. Noodles are amazing so as cute waitresses. Hope they have a branch in Sydney!
Really love this place. Went for the first time in the last two months and have been back multiple times since, everyone I take loves it too! Delicious food, incredible fast (great pre show dinner) and lovely service. Strongly recommend!
Nice noodle soups. Great pricing.
Clean and comfortable place. Great and fast service.
Slightly clumped noodles at times but a good tasty bowl of noodles regardless
Tried the Dry Noodles with stir fry mixed vegetables and the Dry Noodles with Braided Lamb Flap
A good range of noodle width to choose from.
Very efficient operation - you order, a server will guide you to a free table and then they will bring your order out to you. Help yourself to water from the water station in the middle. I had the classic Lanzhou beef noodles with the third thickness (三细) and less chilli (少辣). Probably would go down one in noodle thickness next time, but it was still delicious. Their broth is hearty and flavourful and the chilli oil packs a bit of a punch so having a relatively weak chilli tolerance, I'm glad I went with less chilli. The beef shank slices are generous, super tender and marbled with tendon which has cooked down to just gelatinous connectors between the meat segments - really good.
